Master of Ceremonies Rob Hyatt Rob Hyatt is an accomplished public speaker with over 25 years of experience on the microphone. Rob started performing professionally in Seattle in 1983 with a vocal quartet called Fifth Avenue, specializing in jazz, doo-wop and barbershop. Fronting a musical group gave him the experience he needed for public speaking. In 1996 he began working as an MC at events around Las Vegas. He has served as MC for the annual conventions/parties of many major companies in Las Vegas and around the U.S. Rob has recently relocated back to the Great Northwest. He aspires one day to be president of the Earth, or perhaps a game show host.

Auctioneer Laura Michalek Fundraising Auctioneer Laura Michalek still relies on the endurance and discipline she possessed when at the age of 15, she was the first female winner of the Chicago Marathon. While Laura has hardly missed a day of running since then, it’s this intention to excel at what she loves that is most evident. “To me auctioneering is about giving a lot of yourself, before and during the event, in a way that most folks wouldn’t expect.” Her style, fundraising insight, and commitment to her non-profit clients set her apart. “I care about how they are going to sustain themselves, so it’s thrilling to be part of that.” Laura credits her running experience with informing her whole life. “When I start auctioneering, it’s like being in the starting block all over again, and I still set out to win; however, this time it’s for the organization I’m representing.” PAWS is honored to have had Laura with us for nine years.

Dear Friends, We are truly honored to have you here with us tonight. You make up a fantastic gathering of generous sponsors, enthusiastic table captains, dedicated volunteers, and esteemed guests. Many of you are intimate with PAWS and the mission, some of you join us for the first time, and we appreciate each and every one of you and your collaboration. Your generosity here, at PAWS Wild Night, means the world to thousands of animals who will arrive at our doors this year. You will see the faces of these animals all around you tonight. Animals who otherwise might not have a safe place to turn if not for compassionate people like you, coming together to create a safety net for them. And the extent of what we can accomplish together is simply astounding. Over the course of the next few hours, you will enable emergency care and life-saving surgeries for injured wild animals, provide warm beds and full bellies for homeless cats and dogs, and help reunite distraught families with their lost pets. Children will be taught how to appreciate and respect all living beings—often for the first time in their lives—and adults will be given the resources they need to help a vulnerable animal. With your generosity tonight, we will continue making all of these amazing things happen every single day—for the animals in need, and for the people like you who love them so dearly. On behalf of all who will benefit, thank you for your investment and support. Now let’s get ready for an exciting, inspiring and Wild Night! Warmly,

Annette Laico Chief Executive Officer

General Auction Rules Each participating bidder agrees to these auction rules: • Upon entry, each guest will be given a bid number. • Top bidders have two options for purchasing your auction items: Pre-pay: Guests may pre-pay for their purchases, auction winnings and donations by participating in Auction Pay. By providing a credit card at Registration, guests authorize PAWS to charge their purchases and donations to that credit card. An itemized receipt and all purchased items will be given to Auction Pay guests at Guest Check-Out. Pay at the end: Guests who elect not to participate in Auction Pay must pay for all purchases, auction items, and donations at the end of the event by going to Guest Check-Out. At that time, they will be provided with an itemized receipt detailing all purchases and donations. Guests will be asked to pay by check or credit card before leaving the venue. • All purchases are final and there will be no exchanges or refunds on items unless otherwise noted. • Bidder can pay by currency, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Please make checks payable to PAWS. PAWS is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization and payments are tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the extent provided by law. Normally, the amount paid above the fair market value of an item is deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor for appropriate deductibility. • PAWS is grateful to all of our donors and bidders who submit matching gift requests to their companies. All Fund-A-Need donations, as well as any amount paid above the fair market value of an auction item, are considered charitable donations and can be matched by participating companies. All auction items and donations must be paid in full by the bidder; amounts matched by your company cannot be accepted as payment toward your auction purchases.

• For federal income tax purposes, on items marked “priceless,” the fair market value of the item will be listed at the end of the item description. Any amount you pay above this fair market value would normally be available to you as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor for appropriate deductibility. • Please note any restrictions, limitations, sizes, expiration dates before making a bid. PAWS has attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly, but all items are offered “as is, where is.” PAWS neither warranties nor represents, and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. • Reservations for trips and vacation accommodations must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise noted. Tickets in travel packages are for coach class unless otherwise noted. No refunds will be allowed on travel packages for cancelled tickets and/ or accommodations. • Unless otherwise noted, all goods and services must be claimed and used within one year of the auction date. • PAWS reserves the right to add or withdraw, without notice, items to or from the auction. • Acknowledgement by the auctioneer of the top bid is a legal contract to purchase that item. • No statement made in these Auction Rules or made orally at the auction or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty for tax purposes or fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless otherwise noted, • Each person issued a bid number (bidder) assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising from PAWS, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

Silent Auction Rules • To bid in the silent auction, simply write your bid number on the silent auction bid form located in front of the item on the table. You may bid by writing your bid number on the form opposite the amount you wish to bid. We ask you to press hard as you are making three copies. • You do not have to take the next available bid amount, but may skip ahead on the form to find the amount you wish to bid. The next bidder must bid a higher amount than yours to be successful. • To guarantee that you are the successful bidder on an item, write your bid number opposite the amount labeled Buy It Now. Once you write your bid number on the Buy It Now line, the bidding on that item is concluded. • You may bid on any item in the silent auction until the section is closed. Bidding for items in the silent auction sections will close at the time posted and will be announced. A silent auction official will circle the top bid number and amount. You can determine whether you are the successful purchaser by looking at a copy of the silent auction bid form that is left on the auction table after the section is closed. • Designation of the top bid is a legal contract to purchase that item.

Live Auction Rules • To bid in the live auction, hold your bid card up high with the number toward the auctioneer. The auctioneer acknowledges your bid by stating your bid number. • A bid acknowledged by the live auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. • You may preview the live auction items from the time the doors open until the start of the live auction. We want you to have adequate time and opportunity to see the excellent quality of the live auction items.
