The College’s Student Contract enables you to have a clear understanding of the College’s expectations from you as a student. The College Charter explains what you can expect from the College. By signing the contract you will be recognising that we cannot help you to achieve your potential unless you take responsibility for your share of the learning process, and acknowledge your obligations as a member of the College community. All the terms of the contract have been written in your best interests to help you to learn. By fulfilling the contract, you will ensure that you will make the most of your time at the College. As a member of the Course you are expected to attend College on the days and at the times stated on your timetable arrive punctually for all classes and taught sessions keep to the requirements for informing us of your absence and asking permission to stay working late in the College accept responsibility for your own learning by: completing Action Plans and self-evaluation charts; attending all tutorials with your personal tutor; working during your private study periods or at home so that you keep up with your course work; completing, on time, work of at least a satisfactory standard; keeping to all procedures about handing in work for assessment and for conduct in examinations;
keeping to the guidelines given to you before your placement, on your responsibilities during any work experience; seeking help and guidance from tutors and/or members of Student Advice if your are having difficulties in meeting these responsibilities. As a member of the College you will act in such a way that you do not harm or interfere with the work, or ability to study, of other students; behave with courtesy and respect towards all staff and students, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religious beliefs, ethnic background, age or disability; treat all College property and facilities with care and in a responsible manner, and observe all Health and Safety regulations; accept that if your work or behaviour falls below the standards set by the College you may be suspended or excluded permanently from the College; accept that if you are under 18 years of age on entry the College will let your parent(s) or guardian know of your academic progress, any behaviour which is harmful to yourself, fellow students or College staff, or which damages College property; read and observe College regulations; act through the publicised College procedures if you have any reason to complain or be dissatisfied.
