Toy Development Lego to Duplo
Ini2ally I was considering designing a Popling’s Lego 2e in figure, Lego are now very much into producing 2e in franchises, having done sets now for The Simpsons, Harry PoAer and star wars. I also considered how best the technology of Lego could work for the design of my characters, they’ve recently introduced LEDs into their sets this could work well in crea2ng the glowing bubbles the Popling's produce.
I then came to realize Duplo, Lego’s sister branch, may be the more appropriate choice for my character design as it has a 3+ audience, the same age group as my book. They’ve also done previous sets with both product 2e in and with characters based around nature so my character could be a welcomed addi2on to the family.
