Placing our Members
on the Pedestal
IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE 2022 HAS ENTERED ITS FINAL QUARTER —but what a year it has been! We’re restocked with fresh faces, career-enhancing internal promotions, and new ideas to yet again elevate our customer service at Braman Motorcars. In fact, this issue will honor our own Lisa Solodar and John Weltzien; Lisa as BMW’s President’s Club Inductee, and John for his victory at the USBC Championships this past year.
However, my message this issue highlights the accomplishments of our Club Braman members, starting with our cover feature, Tawny Wolf, and her juggling act between luxury real estate, equestrian competitions, and her work as the youngest board member of the Wellington Boys and Girls Club.
There’s also Lexye Aversa and her remarkable event planning talents, the one-two punch of Robert and Pamela Weinroth who promote positive community change through philanthropy and legislation, and our “MINI” ice queen, Elena Gonzalez who made the not-so-small leap from her past Olympic figure skating aspirations to a dual career in coaching and insurance.
We would also be far less fortunate without Dr. Leslie Diaz’s work as Infectious Disease Director at FoundCare, and Mike Lang and his Air Around the Clock partners who have ensured that the Historic Stranahan House Museum is still “cool” to visit.
Fine diners will appreciate Bradley Parker explaining the story behind his restaurant empire, as well as our new Club Braman Eats series featuring Over the Bridge Café and Yellowtail Modern Asian Cuisine and Sushi. Travelers will embark on vacation with Club Braman raffle winner Rena Sebai and her family to Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.
Finally, we’ll say a heartfelt farewell to Palm Beach International Raceway, party in style with our Casino Royale, toss some brutal British beasts around the Concours Club, create masterpieces by combining wine and paint, check in on the love life of Malayan Tigers Api and Kadar, and announce our partnering with the Gulfstream Region Porsche Club of America and Gulfstream Goodwill Industries to help the disadvantaged throughout our community.
Please enjoy this issue of Club Braman Magazine. Thank you for allowing us the honor of serving you and your families, and always remember that at Braman Motorcars, it’s more than a car; it’s a lifestyle.

THE SUN WAS HIGH WITH THE TEMPERATURE TO MATCH. The surrounding wetlands buzzed with the crooning of insects—a concert intermittently punctuated by the staccato blasts of exhaust and squealing of tires. On this particular day all five senses and even a sixth were keyed-up; there was something special, though conclusive in the air.
One after the other, the vibrantly-colored MINIs raced through the tight twists of scorching asphalt, as they had many times before. However, there was an extra tinge of urgency. There were feelings of celebration and heartbreak in equal measure. Though the autocross they participated in was a race against time, each driver yearned to stretch every last second.
Far-flung in the middle of no-man’s land and nestled off a desolate stretch of Beeline Highway, Palm Beach International Raceway has known many sights, sounds, and even names over the years. Though the track and facilities were never perfect, they
were our own, and were revered for decades as the closest thing to automotive nirvana for South Florida enthusiasts. Now, the insect’s symphony remains, but the roars of engines and scent of burnt rubber only haunt our memories. PBIR, still defiantly remembered by many as Moroso, is dead.
After 58 years, the home for local drifters, mud truckers, car show aficionados, go-kart, drag and road racers now faces a murky future. What is certain, is the site will be sorely missed by Club Braman members. A long and fruitful relationship spanning nearly two decades resulted in multiple driving events, auto crosses, and showcases for Braman Motorcars clients. Some test drove BMWs, others raced MINIs, and the truly fortunate sampled some of Porsche’s most incredible machines in their natural environment. Even a brave Bentley owner or two has partaken over the years.
It was fitting then that one of the final sanctioned events was set to be an April autocross jointly hosted by the MINI Club of South Florida, and Club Braman. The occasion encapsulated exactly what PBIR stood for—a safe and invigorating space to live out participants’ automotive fantasies; improving their skills, challenging friends, and learning from mentors, including former professional driver and current Porsche West Palm Beach Brand Ambassador Freddy Rhemrev.
While there’s no accounting for exactly how many souls passed through those front gates over nearly six decades, it’s likely their collective memories outnumber even the remaining fauna who stand guard over the grounds. Their omnipresent hum, though a gallant impression, nonetheless falls short of the rumbles and howls that once pierced the electric air of their home. Palm Beach International Raceway is no more, but the love for automobiles that inspired its inception is immortalized in the hearts of the Club Braman members, and all South Florida enthusiasts, who knew it best.

WHERE ON EARTH CAN THOSE PRECIOUS SECONDS between a fresh blackjack hand, spin of the roulette wheel, or yank of a slot machine handle be enjoyed entirely risk-free? When it comes to Casino Royale, Club Braman members can gamble on any of the the games of chance offered—and an enjoyable evening is always a sure bet.
While the rainy weather that greeted guests left something to be desired, the accommodating Embassy Suites by Hilton West Palm Beach serving as the night’s clubhouse did not disappoint. The chamber was stacked with options to suit every preference; dozens of slot machines lined the walls and lengthy roulette
tables surrounded the popular blackjack tables in front of the main stage.
Participants arrived early and—after a quick stop at the entrance bars for a complimentary beer, hard seltzer, or glass of wine—headed straight to the games. Centered in the room was a spirited DJ, who helped maintain an energetic atmosphere throughout the night.
Upon arrival, each Club Braman member and their guests were gifted $500 of playing money. Free to gamble however they chose, some lost it all—but many more ended up doubling or even tripling their capital!
All were playing for raffle tickets which could be purchased with chips prior to the end of the festivities. A mad dash to collect as many as possible culminated only seconds before the announcement of the night’s winners.
All were eagerly playing for the grand prize: a 3-night stay at the inimitable Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, only one could emerge as the ultimate winner, and after the final ticket number was read, Club Braman member Susan K. stood alone—slightly shocked, but eternally grateful. Not bad for a weeknight trip to the casino!
While many turned to leave, intent on trying their luck again in the future, a handful of members stayed behind to revel on the dance floor. The DJ happily obliged. It was the final bet of the night which paid off handsomely.

A REUNION IN PARADISE
THE HOLIDAY SEASON HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MAGIC. It’s a time of gift-giving, gatherings of family, and sometimes life-changing surprises. The latter proved the case last December for long-time Club Braman member, Rana Sebai. Though she’d attended many Signature Events—and enjoyed each immensely—something felt a little different about the 2021 Braman BMW Jupiter holiday party. She could feel it.
Whether some unspoken alchemy in the air or simply an overdue turn of luck it mattered not; as Master of Ceremonies Ron Brooks broadcast the final numbers of the evening’s grand prize raffle ticket, Rana felt her heart swell. Unable to stop herself, she shouted out the final two digits as though they were preordained.
She had just won one of Club Braman’s coveted trips for two to the Dominican Republic resort of Casa de Campo.
Almost before the shock could completely wear off, Rana was struck by an idea that would turn an already splendid blessing, perfect. She contacted Casa de Campo representatives to secure one additional invitation. With that, her plan was set in motion.
It had been several years since Rana’s two sons had left home to pursue lives of their own. One had jetted off to Pittsburgh, while the other made his way to Chicago. Despite being extremely close, the physical distance meant the three hadn’t had the opportunity to spend time together in some time.
Rana immediately knew this once-in-a-lifetime trip to paradise was their chance to convene once again. Naturally, her two loving boys couldn’t turn down their mother’s holiday wish. The trip was booked for the following May—perfectly splitting the difference between her oldest son’s birthday in March, and her youngest’s in June.
Of course, neither of them counted on their mother’s mischievous spirit; she insisted the servers at multiple restaurants on the campus proudly and loudly serenade them both in celebration. Though mature adults, Rana reveled in watching both squirm a bit like teenagers.
However, a couple brief moments of embarrassment were a small price to pay for such an excursion. The trio spent their time between horseback riding, partaking in the shooting range, and lounging amid the silky smooth, clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. Rana even convinced the boys to relive her days as a fashion model, posing amid the rocks at sunset. By night, they traversed the resort’s various restaurants and bars, enjoying everything from sushi to beef tartare—Rana always pairing her dishes with a delectable passion fruit mojito. Through it all, Jason Kycek, Senior VP of Casa de Campo went above and beyond to ensure their stay was nothing less than a dream. His attention to detail helped make Rana and her family feel like true VIPs.
Still, the most memorable aspect of the trip was the time Rana spent in the company of her sons. Without distractions or distance between them, they could enjoy each other’s company again, like they had growing up. While the raffle that led to the holiday abroad was months prior, as far as Rana was concerned, Christmas had arrived in May.

TIME FAST II
BRUTAL BRITISH BEASTS
120 CYLINDERS. 20 TURBOCHARGERS. Ten hoods adorned with the iconic Bentley badge.
A select group of Club Braman members were invited to Miami’s Concourse Club this past April to partake in some of the most powerful and capable vehicles the English marque currently has on offer. Seven Continental GT Speeds and three Bentayga Speeds sat brooding in the paddock, their names redundant in the best way. Accompanying them were a team of factory drivers, intent on helping participants extract the most performance and fun possible within the controlled chaotic confines of the test tracks.
The only hiccup was the decidedly British weather. A downpour had put an indefinite halt to the festivities before they could begin. Guests huddled together as rain puddled at their feet. Fortunately the row of impressive steeds, along with their minders, made for pleasant conversation. More charming still was the hosting venue—with the skies still falling, several covered golf carts were procured to whisk invitees to the main clubhouse for an early catered lunch.
Though the COVID-19 pandemic pushed its official opening into 2021, the idea behind The Concours Club originally took hold two years prior. Envisioned as a high-end resort for serious racing enthusiasts and automotive aficionados, the facility lies adjacent to Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in northern Miami-Dade County. Behind its manned gates lies a 2-mile road course featuring curves inspired by the most famous and challenging racetracks in the world; a large circular skidpad, member’s lounge, restaurant, wine-tasting room, and bar; virtual simulation rigs; and multiple garage spaces for members’ vehicles and several race-prepped BMW M2 CS models for rent.
A light buffet of charcuterie, fresh vegetables, and decadent protein options was sprawled across the bar of the lounge, framed by walls adorned with priceless motorsport memorabilia. Though the food was a delicious detour, most eyes remained on the large TV screens displaying a live feed of the slowly emerging sun. The track finally deemed drivable, guests quickly made their way back to the carts for their return to the paddock.
Those curious to sample the Continental GT Speed’s or Bentayga Speed’s capabilities are encouraged to contact their Bentley Palm Beach advisor today, at BentleyPalmBeach.com.Two experiences were on the docket. The participants would alternate between several lead-follow laps on one half of the course, and a short but high-speed dynamic ride along on a separate section. The former strapped themselves into one of the Continental GT Speeds, their day’s instructor riding shotgun, and took off behind another instructor piloting a Bentayga. Gradually building pace, drivers were provided instant feedback on throttle and brake modulation, racing line, and the various capabilities of the advanced chassis, suspension, and engine of the 12-cylinder super-coupe.
The latter group took turns in the passenger seat of either a Bentayga or Continental, struggling to keep their lunch down as the professionals see-sawed the vehicles just under and over the edge of control. The precise ballet, conducted by experts who seemingly never broke a sweat, provided only a glimpse into the vast potential secretly lurking under the sheep-like exteriors of these luxury behemoths. Most impressively, every Bentley on boil featured the original brakes, tires, and fluids found in those on the Bentley Palm Beach showroom floor. Not a single one required any special attention over hours of abuse—a true testament to the manufacturer’s proud motorsports heritage.
RED, WHITE, & HUES
TENURED CLUB BRAMAN MEMBERS EXALTED in the highly-anticipated return of Wine and Paint Night this past summer. Once a regular fixture on the events calendar, one of Club Braman’s most popular Signature Events underwent a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, like a true work of art, the passage of time only contributed to Wine and Paint Night’s value.
The event provides a simple pleasure—its title and promise are redundant. Indeed, there is wine; and indeed, there is paint. What isn’t immediately obvious however, is the intoxicating combination of inimitable artistic instruction and camaraderie among participants—likely aided by the wine.
The event’s triumphant return took place at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach. The art deco-inspired building is itself an important historical landmark, designated within the National Register of Historic Places two decades ago. True to its name, it originally served as an armory in World War II, and today plays host to many art classes and exhibitions. The Armory Art Center proved the perfect establishment by providing a creative atmosphere and the capacity to comfortably welcome over 90 invitees—more than any prior Wine and Paint Night ever!
To Wine and Paint Nights—and Club Braman Signature Events—visit ClubBraman.com. Club Braman Wine & Paint NightThe revelers were treated to a bar tended by Top Notch Toast, and hosted by members of Uptown Wine and Sip. Over the course of two hours, the paint strokes of Club Braman members were professionally guided to produce bespoke, individualized works featuring the iconic Jupiter Lighthouse. Each and every example ended up worthy of a wall—or at least conversation starter for one’s own wine tasting party.

THE COSMIC CONNECTOR BEHIND THE CURTAIN
THOSE AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE COMPLEX WORLD OF CELEBRITIES, international power brokers, and foreign dignitaries tend to draw the most attention. They’re pursued by paparazzi, solicited for endorsements, and invited to schmooze in the private rooms of the most exclusive establishments the world over. They’re the faces we see, applaud, and envy.
What admirers won’t ever witness however, is the sheer amount of logistics, networking, and good old fashioned chutzpah needed to deliver our culture’s idols to those rooms. Far beyond the glamor and notoriety lies the kingmaker who pulls the levers, greases the wheels, and connects the dots. In Palm Beach, that luxurious liaison is Lexye Aversa.
Longtime snowbirds hailing from New Jersey, Lexye and her late husband made the permanent move to South Florida on Valentine’s Day, in 2002. A red-blooded Italian, he’d insisted on a change of scenery and climate more reminiscent of the old country. Though initially reluctant, once the move was completed, Lexye spent every subsequent day thanking him for bringing them to paradise.
While the temperate weather was expected, the burgeoning business landscape of early aughts Palm Beach was a pleasant surprise. Movers, shakers, and C-level executives were flocking to the island and, once removed from their stuffy skyscraper suites, making deals over morning mojitos. These titans of industry however were merely tourists—while Lexye was now a local expert with a growing rolodex; one she began using to
coordinate corporate retreats and family vacations alike. Far more than a concierge, Lexye commanded all aspects—everything but the air her clients would breathe, as she loved to say.
Relying upon the experience gained through their vast empire of travel, hospitality, and event planning businesses, Lexye and her husband quickly became the one-call solution for destination weddings, honeymoons, fundraisers, and corporate events in Palm Beach—and beyond. When it came to their clients, there were no geographical borders, no requests too ambitious, and no doubts that the services rendered would exceed expectations. The results were wildly successful; their company, Professional Touch International Travel, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Over the years, Lexye has been integral in some of the most well-regarded events and organizations in Palm Beach, including:
• The International Economic Forum of the Americas
• The Women’s Chamber of Commerce for Palm Beach County
• Il Circolo - The Italian Cultural Society of the Palm Beaches
• The Pinnacle Networking Event
• A Safe Haven for Newborns
The latter of these will soon have a sponsored license plate available through Braman Motorcars—yet another local institution with which Lexye enjoys a strong history. While still living in New Jersey, she and her husband purchased a majority of their vehicles through none other than Braman Motorcars General Manager Stephen Grossman. Unaware that he’d also made the move south, the two walked into their local BMW dealership on a whim, and were delighted to reconnect with an old friend.
The same sense of community that Lexye so loves about Palm Beach is also evident at Braman Motorcars. The attention to detail and level of client service provided, whether shopping for a new vehicle or simply popping by for a cup of coffee, is exactly what Lexye strives to deliver to her clients. Perhaps no one else can better appreciate just how much work goes into producing a polished product for the most discerning of clientele.
Despite her decades of success and the laidback nature of her second home, Lexye is constantly on the lookout for new projects, outside of her multiple enterprises, which might profit from her prowess. In addition to managing the tours for multiple operatic performers, she is currently in the midst of organizing a benefit concert for her home country of Ukraine, set for early 2023.
Ever the cosmic connector and relentless optimist, Lexye has become, and will continue to remain, the famous and powerful of Palm Beach County’s most certain on-call confidant.

2022 BMW X3 M Competition
THE GENERAL CONSENSUS IS DIFFICULT TO OVERCOME. A vehicle deemed too large, heavy, or even practical is instantly denied entry into the pantheon of sports cars. It simply doesn’t fit the stereotype. While the BMW X3 M Competition can rocket to 60 mph ahead of a Porsche 911, judgement is still passed even quicker.
Fortunately, there is hidden power in being underestimated.
As a young professional woman, she, like her X3 M Competition, is all to familiar with unfair dismissal. Naive passerby might pause briefly to admire her or the bright Sao Paulo Yellow paintwork, but never consider either as powerful or capable.
Of course, this is a grave mistake. Both carry a natural killer instinct which can rage forth when called upon. Her heart is not a 503 horsepower turbocharged six-cylinder, but black coffee is her octane of choice. Their poise is omnipresent; the X3 M Competition’s achieved through an advanced, tunable suspension which deftly adapts to conditions in fractions of a second—and hers through years of fighting, and winning, many an uphill battle.
Of course, a show of full force is rarely required. Quiet competence day in and day out is the standard. The X3 M Competition remains a comfortable, spacious, and safe mode of transportation, whether shuttling professional colleagues to a power lunch, or pleasantly covering hundreds of miles en route to a weekend girl’s trip. No matter the task at hand, when the rubber meets the road, the job gets done.
Most importantly, it gets done in style. The dazzling lemon-lime hue catches eyes from a mile away. Though her wardrobe is slightly more subtle, it makes no less of a statement.
Still, there will always be those who don’t take either of the two seriously. Those who are loud and brash; screaming for attention rather than earning it. Those who recklessly weave between office politics and bumper-to-bumper traffic alike. Fortunately, she has an extra gear for any street or boardroom challenger requiring a lesson in humility, emblazoned in bright red on the X3 M Competition’s steering wheel: M1.
Instantly, the mild-mannered SUV’s character changes. Reflexes quicken. The exhaust’s bark deepens. Her designer sunglasses are lowered and a knowing wink bestowed upon her hapless rival. With a firm press of the pedal, her worth is instantly known to all.
Perhaps one day the pair will meet their match. An adversary who won’t underestimate their abilities, instead pushing them harder than ever before. One that will elicit every ounce of fire and traction they can muster. They long for the time such a partner appears.
And when they do, she’ll have M2.
THE FIRST LADY OF BRAMAN BMW WEST PALM BEACH
AMID THE PRESTIGIOUS LAUDATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS Braman Motorcars has earned over our decades of service, lies a concerning fact: due to the traditional reality of our business, a majority of these awards have been presented to our male staff members. This is not unique to our dealerships of course, but rather reflective of the broader industry. Fortunately, the tides are changing—and Braman BMW West Palm Beach can now proudly lay claim to this year’s only female managerial appointment to BMW North America’s President’s Club: General Sales Manager, Lisa Solodar.
Part of BMW NA’s acclaimed Profiles in Achievement program, the President’s Club honor is only bestowed after five consecutive years of high sales and customer satisfaction performance. Among thousands of her sales and after sales colleagues throughout the nation, Lisa was one of three winners in 2022—and the only woman manager among the trio.
Establishing customer satisfaction over a single transaction can at times prove challenging, making Lisa’s achievements since joining Braman Motorcars in 2017 all the more remarkable. The gravity of the accomplishment is not lost on Lisa; she acknowledges that women in the vehicle sales industry are rarely found and even less seldom recognized. However, her philosophy of demonstrating genuine care and approaching every interaction with kindness and respect ever since she arrived at Braman Motorcars has proven impossible to ignore.
Lisa makes herself hard to miss as well—constantly walking the showroom floor and introducing herself to as many customers as possible. Her commitment to building long-term relationships and staying readily available provides a sense of comfort and trust not found elsewhere, a claim proven by this year’s endowment.
Lisa encourages other women not to be deterred by the patriarchal stereotype inherent to automotive sales. Her advice is to remain focused on goals and never consider giving up; treating the customer right will always lead to success in the long run. Finally, when possible, find an environment in which the support to thrive is provided—similar to what she has enjoyed at Braman Motorcars.
While she would one day like to find herself at the head of a dealership of her own, for now Lisa is concentrating on becoming the rare multi-year entrant of the President’s Club. A lofty goal to be sure, but one well-earned and long overdue.
Your devotion to our great brand does not go unnoticed by the executive team of BMW of North America” stated. “We could not achieve greatness without the true commitment of individuals such as yourself, and your ongoing hard work throughout the years.
Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO, BMW North America

ELECTRIFYING THE ELECTORATE
THE IDEA OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKING hand-in-hand with neighborhood non-profits toward a shared goal may at first seem implausible to the average person. It may even be met with an eye roll or two. However, in Robert and Pamela Weinroth’s case, the relationship between politics and philanthropy is far closer than most Palm Beach County residents might realize. For the better part of a decade, the two have combined their principles, networks, and lives in the pursuit of tangible change for citizens of all income levels and privilege.
Originally hailing from Long Island, NY., Robert left his former Wall Street gig for Boca Raton’s more temperate climate years ago—his Florida Bar license in tow. Almost immediately, he found himself active in politically-adjacent causes and lobbying efforts from Tallahassee to Washington D.C. Before long, the realization came: not only could he do what the elected officials in his orbit seemed to be doing; he could affect meaningful change even better. His opportunity to prove himself arrived in 2014—a year in which an unprecedented number of local Council seats became open. Winning one of them kickedoff a 4-year term, during which he became an integral part in a transformative period of the city’s history. Key redevelopments and build-outs helped shape a new, more vibrant Boca Raton. His vision met, Robert set his sights further, being elected and acting as Mayor of Palm Beach County since 2018.
During the same period, Pamela Weinroth was operating in her capacity as Executive Director for the Children’s Foundation of Palm Beach County—a charitable collective focused on securing impactful fundraising for local at-risk children. These smaller organizations don’t enjoy the funding or recognition of nationally-known causes, but their work is just as vital; the same donated dollar can mean much more to a local family in need. Pamela and her fellow board members regularly see the real effects of their efforts with their own eyes.
In 2022, the Foundation took more than 34 charities under its wing, donating over $2 million—their most successful year to date–and has secured more than $16 million since its 2010 inception.
Throughout it all, the Weinroths have leaned on each other for direction, connections, and strategies. Robert has helped bring attention to legislation that can have a lasting impact for Pamela’s causes, while her efforts have gone on to shore up gaps the government simply cannot fulfill. An example can be found on ballots this upcoming November: a proposition which presents a $200 million affordable housing bond measure. Its purpose is to provide living quarters for local working class families currently priced out of the real estate market, due to the influx of out-of-state residents in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their “big picture” awareness also extends to the vehicles Robert and Pamela pilot throughout South Florida’s busy streets and highways. An EV-evangelist, Robert owned two BMW i3s prior to his recent ordering of a sleek, new 2023 BMW i4. Delivery was continuously delayed, however; but a fortuitous consolation prize, in the form of a gorgeous black 2023 BMW iX, eventually arrived to Braman BMW West Palm Beach. Robert’s mind was fairly easily swayed, and now he smiles at every gas station he passes.
Though the transition away from gasoline-powered vehicles has been seamless and range anxiety a nonissue—the couple recently completed a roundtrip to Orlando in the iX—Pamela’s BMW 330e Plug-In Hybrid can provide reliable transport to Tallahassee, or beyond, whenever necessary. Robert personally believes a more resilient community can be forged through further EV adoption, and less reliance on fossil-fuels.
The pursuit of this vision may yet provide another opportunity for local government to work in tandem with the organizations and charities within the community; proving to even the most cynical of citizens that when it comes to Palm Beach County’s future, there’s plenty of reason for optimism.
THE WOLF OF WELLINGTON
THE REAL ESTATE MARKET IS BEHOLDEN TO A PROCESS of ebbs and flows. Home values move in accordance with a range of factors; style inclinations, location, macroeconomic trends, and countless more. This ever-changing exchange can manifest as a dream or nightmare depending on when one participates. Such consistent inconsistency is why trustworthy guidance is the only constant that matters.
Over the past decade, for Wellington’s luxury real estate buyers and sellers, that constant has been Tawny Wolf.
Throughout South Florida’s recent rise in popularity, Tawny’s approach has remained steadfast in the face of volatility—no matter the budget, history, or challenges, every client is treated as a priority.
It’s a philosophy whose roots took hold from her first professional transaction. Despite first meeting to discuss a humble rental property, Tawny’s effervescent personality, unwavering commitment, and natural business sense nonetheless made a permanent impression. Now dear friends, the same family recently enlisted her services to uncover the perfect Wellington farm property—and list their former estate for $16.5 million.
Tawny credits her meteoric success to her pressurefree yet no-nonsense style, born from her formative years spent surfing the swells off Florida’s west coast. Though lacking a silver spoon through parentage, an astonishingly successful equestrian career positioned her adjacent to the luxuries great wealth affords, and offered a thorough education in the difference between performing a job…and providing maximum value. Mastering the latter, Tawny stands apart from others who may expect success simply by birthright.
However, Tawny never planned to leverage the connections she’d earned through her horse jumping career. Refusing to fall prey to what she deemed an easy cliche, her worlds were purposefully kept separate; in one, she collected numerous trophies and accolades, ultimately achieving success at the 1.40 level. In the other, she fervidly pursued real estate licenses in California, Florida, and New York. The intention was to serve any client, across any income bracket, anywhere.
Though an admirable goal, it ultimately proved impossible. Tawny’s undeniable charisma and obvious talent soon led to her serving the peers and competitors who connected with her over their shared equestrian passions.
Tawny recognizes a similar commitment to client care at Braman Motorcars. Every successful closing and birthday is celebrated with a congratulatory phone call, card, or text message from her sales and service team, regardless of when she last entered the showroom doors. Such topof-mind attention has resulted in more than one happy coincidence; Tawny recently passed a gorgeous Porsche Panamera on the road, and immediately made a call to Porsche West Palm Beach. Within hours she was behind the wheel of, and in love with, her very own.
Previously making the decision to give up her beloved 911 for a more client-friendly vehicle, the Panamera combined the perfect amount of sex appeal and practicality—allowing Tawny to transport herself, clothes, riding gear, and clients between the long stretches of acreage spanning between Wellington’s beautiful, expansive properties.
Her relationship with Braman extends beyond a shared passion for the finest vehicles on the road to a mutual commitment to philanthropy. Five years ago, Tawny dedicated herself to volunteering at the Wellington Boys and Girls Club. So total was her commitment, a 2-month stretch ended with an invitation to join the Board of Directors as its youngest member ever.
This December, serendipity will strike once more, as each of her worlds collide in perfect unison during the Winter Equestrian Festival. Tawny will simultaneously compete, meet and manage clients, act as an ambassador for the Boys and Girls Club, and perhaps even peruse some of Braman Motorcars’ latest offerings.
While sustained success in an industry known for chaotic fluctuations requires unrelenting hustle, an instinct for service makes cultivating valuable relationships effortless. If real estate’s nature is unpredictable, Tawny’s is anything but. One assurance however, is both will remain a captivating fixture of South Florida’s allure for years to come.

CLUB BRAMAN EATS: OVER THE BRIDGE CAFE
ONE MAY BE TEMPTED TO BELIEVE A RESTAURANT with exclusively outdoor seating, limited parking, and minimal signage might quickly find failure in South Florida. Add the fact that said restaurant was launched just before the infamous lockdowns of 2020, and the expectation of collapse becomes a near certainty. However, in the case of the immensely popular Over The Bridge Cafe, one would be quite wrong.
One look at the crowded covered patio on any given weekend morning should prove convincing enough.Passers-by may even catch some of the live music performers providing ambience until 3:00 p.m. What a singular look wouldn’t reveal, is a closeknit family business guided by a visionary scion whose instinct for “good eats” was strong enough to overcome any virus—or unconventional location.
Having spent years of his hospitality career with Marriott, Disney, and several other restaurants on Atlantic Avenue, Daniel Newman knew Delray Beach was in need of a proper breakfast spot—one which served piping hot, delicious fare
all-day. This proved prescient; and though now approaching its fifth anniversary in December, Over The Bridge Cafe actually suffered an admittedly ignominious start. Daniel’s father, Robert, found what appeared a perfect listing just west of the intracoastal bridge; though upon arrival the duo found the listing photos and address had been mixed-up. Rather than a ready-made restaurant, they found a tiny building in need of a significant amount of work. No matter—Daniel’s vision wouldn’t be deterred by something as simple as a real estate miscommunication.
Daniel’s mission was straightforward but unique: simple, flavorful American cuisine with a Caribbean and Floridian flair—with some wacky twists on traditional comfort food here and there, originating from personal experience and experiments. Examples (and crowd favorites) include the French toast duo, short rib grilled cheese sandwich, and Robert’s “Dad’s BLT”—originally not part of the menu, but a delicacy the elder Newman insisted on enjoying every day, and has since taken off in popularity.
In fact, any number of Newman family members are on-hand daily at the Cafe, performing every task from bussing tables to schmoozing guests. The Newmans can also be found off campus catering any number of events in partnership with the City of Delray Beach and the DDA. It’s the kind of hands-on commitment reflected by Braman Motorcars, and no doubt one reason why the Newman’s have purchased several vehicles from the campus over the years. However, Robert asserts that even more enjoyable than the customer service provided, are Club Braman events; he is a regular at Casino and Comedy Nights.
Fellow Club Braman members are encouraged to browse Over The Bridge’s entire menu online, and learn more about their delectable takes on all manner of cuisine outside of their breakfast staples, available through their catering division. For those hoping for the full experience however, be sure to make weekend reservations well in advance at OverTheBridgeCafe.com. Despite the odds facing them, one would again be wrong to be surprised by Daniel and his family’s success.
Club Braman Members will receive a 15% discount on dine-in or take-out orders with their digital membership card.Club Braman Members receive a 15% discount on take-out of delivery orders ($15.00 maximum).
CLUB BRAMAN EATS: YELLOWTAIL, MODERN ASIAN CUISINE AND SUSHI
CLUB BRAMAN MAKES THE EXTRAORDINARY ACCESSIBLE, and exceeds the highest of expectations while eschewing pretension. It’s an ethos that is a natural match for chef, restaurateur, and gastronomic impresario Andrew Rothschild. Owing to his formal training in France, Andrew is well-versed in providing the finest of dining experiences, but decided to instead focus on approachability when he opened his first Chicago restaurant in 1993. The Marc was the first in the city to eliminate a formal dress code, taking the sheen off the fine dining experience, and welcoming an eclectic mix of patrons.
The vibe was infectious—and the restaurant took off in popularity, proving Andrew’s vision to be a viable concept.
In keeping with his self-imposed tradition of remaining ahead of the curve, Andrew was also a pioneer of the Asian fusion culinary concept. Between guidance from his wife, who hails from the Philippines, and the utilization of specific ingredients and techniques, The Marc quickly achieved recognition as one of the best Pan Asian restaurants in the country.
In the early 2000s, Andrew received a call from an acquaintance offering him the position of Executive Chef at the prestigious Forge in Miami Beach. Making the move south, Andrew fell in love with Florida, and hasn’t left since. His first solo venture in West Palm Beach became the highly popular Tsunami in CityPlace, now Rosemary Square.
In between gigs, Andrew received a call from one of his contacts hoping to connect him with an aspiring restaurant developer
in Delray Beach. The two hit it off immediately, and shortly thereafter Yellowtail, Modern Asian Cuisine and Sushi was born. Keenly aware of the rash of casual Thai and Japanese eateries dotting South Florida, the vision for Yellowtail was decidedly more upscale. Top-quality ingredients are imported from across the world, contributing to the mixture of traditional and creative dishes found throughout the menu.
Andrew’s favorite offering is the Candy Yellowtail roll; a fitting homage featuring the restaurant’s namesake paired with crispy salmon skin, candied garlic chips, and micro cilantro. More daring clients can take advantage of the Omakasa experience— translating to “trust the chef.” The skilled culinary artists behind the sushi bar pick and prepare specialties based on their favorite and available ingredients—and serve up the massive meal with a one-of-a-kind presentation.
Andrew believes the best dining experiences are intuitive and customer-centric. After all, even the best ingredients mean little without the service to match. It’s no wonder then, that he and his wife are loyal Braman Motorcars customers; his, a rocket of a BMW 330i, while hers is the more practical, though still exciting, X3. Similar to the culture established at his restaurants, Andrew appreciates that every Braman Motorcars employee truly cares about their craft and is passionate about delivering a world-class experience.

BESPOKE BY NATURE
2022 GT Speed Mulliner Palm Beach CollectionWHILE EVERY MODEL THAT ARRIVES ON THE SHOWROOM floor of Braman Bentley Palm Beach is undoubtedly special, true connoisseurs demand bespoke options to set their vehicles apart from any other on the road. Similar to other high end manufacturers, Bentley is more than happy to oblige their clients—allowing for customization of nearly every aspect of the construction and delivery experience.
Of course, the brand itself knows their products, and clientele, best. At times, Mulliner—Bentley’s in-house coach-builder—will take the lead, producing limited-run versions of their most popular models, appealing directly to distinct sensibilities. Such is the case with the Palm Beach Collection GT Speed Mulliner. Though subtle to the untrained eye, the sum of the upgrades on display is far more captivating than any of the individual pieces selected.
This previously standard GT Speed has been bathed in multiple coats of Mulliner-specific Ghost White Pearlescent paint, and provides an exquisite pink shimmer when directly lit. The panoramic glass roof is a South Florida necessity, serving as an hermetic barrier between the comfortable confines of the interior and the wealth of sunlight dancing above. Occupants can recline in the soft white upholstery trimmed in coral-colored leather, rest their feet on the deep pile floor mats, and lose themselves in the soothing auditory waves emanating from the Bang and Olufsen speaker system.
The Palm Beach Collection GT Speed Mulliner also carries an absolutely show-stopping accent, heretofore never seen in any luxury vehicle. The unequivocal stone veneer treatment applied throughout the dashboard and door sills is a newly-released offering only available through Mulliner. The result of 200 million year-old clay deposits crystalized into slate, each piece is cut to only millimeters in thickness, polished, and formed to the cabin. Ethically sourced from India, each pattern and color is completely natural and utterly unique, thanks to the magic of Mother Nature. Mulliner developed specific technology and application techniques to achieve this peerless offering, perfect for a locale unlike any else in the world. Fortunately for residents of Palm Beach, a dealership experience to match such an incredible vehicle is within reach.
ICE QUEEN
THE MINI BRAND HAS ALWAYS EMBODIED BIG PERSONALITY.
The spritely cars have won racing championships the world over, been immortalized on the silver screen, and delighted owners with their endless potential for customization for more than six decades. Their diminutive dimensions belie a surprising amount of usable space, safety, and riotous driving dynamics. Most importantly, a MINI provides a smile before, during, and after every drive.
Distill the essence of MINI into a single avatar, and it would likely resemble Elena Gonzalez. All effusive personality and unrelenting positivity, the former nationallyranked figure skater found the car a natural fit; as though the two were made for each other.
Born in Venezuela, Elena’s family relocated to South Florida during her early years—however, a chance occurrence at a friend’s fifth birthday party would quickly find them on the move once more. Having recently completed several lessons, Elena’s friend elected to host her party at a local ice rink. Enthralled with her friend’s ability to gracefully glide over the slick, cold surface, Elena pined to do the same. It was love at first sight. Her mother signed her up for lessons of her own the next day.
Though admittedly not as naturally coordinated as some others, Elena was singularly focused and intensely motivated in the pursuit of her new craft. Her family soon recognized her obvious gift, and ultimately decided to move to the unfamiliar, frigid, and rural environment of Lake Placid, New York. Though not a tourist hotspot, the upstate community is best known for playing host to the 1980 Winter Olympics—and has remained an internationallyrecognized competitive figure skating training epicenter since.
Over the next several years Elena would rise to a Senior ranking, the highest possible. At 16, she was recruited, and subsequently qualified as the first Olympic figure skater to represent her home country of Venezuela—an inconceivable dream come true.
Unfortunately, a lifetime of intensive training and injuries had taken a toll on her. A third knee surgery in the wake of qualifying coupled with a strong suggestion from her doctor that she consider retirement in order to maintain a high quality of life into adulthood unfortunately curbed her gold medal dreams. A massive disappointment to be sure, but Elena’s relentless optimism would rapidly lead to what would become her next phase. A return to South Florida the following year brought her back in close proximity to her lifelong nutritionist who happened to also be the skating director of Palm Beach Ice Works in West Palm Beach. Starting at the very bottom of the totem pole, Elena worked her way through various jobs, eventually earning a coaching position.
Elena acknowledges that the transition to coaching can be tough for high-level athletes, but hers has been seamless. Similar to that first introduction to figure skating itself, she instantly fell in love with being able to guide her students and impart her experience—
albeit with plenty of coffee and energy drinks to fuel the early morning sessions. When not at the rink, Elena is working full-time at the South Florida-based insurance office her father founded and which they now co-own; another perfect fit for one as addicted to serving others as she.
Her loyal companion during those lonely highway commuting hours is Carly, her current MINI Countryman. As all MINI owners are wont to do, Elena has named each of hers. Carly took the place of Carlos, her prior Clubman, which was a direct inspiration from Elena’s first driving experience in her mother’s MINI, nicknamed Casper. Each car’s lightness, nimble handling, and inherent personality forge a perfect metaphor for Elena’s competitive days; the ability to impress with both physical prowess and charm were essential to her success.
It is a balance that MINI has long perfected, leading to an owner equally superlative.

DR. LESLIE E. DIAZ, MD, sat motionless in her driveway that morning. She dropped her head and brought her hands to her face. She could not hold back any longer; tears gushed forth from her eyes. An infectious disease specialist, she knew what was coming—but was powerless to stop it.
It was early March, 2020. The eve of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nothing in her three decades of experience could have prepared her for what lay in store for her and her fellow medical professionals. The closest possible comparison might have been the hysteria surrounding HIV that took hold in the ‘80s while she was still a fledgling doctor; however, this was not something that could be ignorantly dismissed as a malady confined to a subset of the population. This Coronavirus was transmitted regardless of age, race, wealth, or sexual orientation. The epidemiology was new, and its ease of infection terrifying.
More than two-and-a-half years later, COVID-19 is still a top priority at FoundCare West Palm Beach, of which Dr. Diaz acts as Infectious Disease Director. Today, the variations are weaker—a natural result of viral mutations, and a process accelerated by mass adoption of vaccines and booster shots— though she still encounters patients fighting for their lives. Even as an expert, she admits it is hard to decipher the changing information available, but also acknowledges this as the first instance in her career in which patients have at times dismissed
her treatment. A consummate professional, Dr. Diaz doesn’t take anything personally—but concedes the notable distrust of medical professionals is tiring.
It’s a sentiment she never would have predicted at age five, when she boldly proclaimed to her parents that she wanted to become a doctor. She remained singularly focused on her goal through high school, then college, and into medical school. Infectious diseases in particular caught her eye—figuring out solutions and answers given limited information was akin to being Sherlock Holmes. She found it all immensely enjoyable.
Nearly as enjoyable perhaps, as her long history of Porsche ownership. She purchased her first in 1996, shortly after earning her degree from the University of Florida. Though a dream come true, she briefly traded it for a BMW M3, convinced she needed the practicality. She couldn’t remain away from the Stuttgart sports cars for long however, and embarked on an impressive run of models, most of which over the past decade, coming courtesy of Porsche West Palm Beach.
There was the 6-speed, air-cooled 1992 Carrera; a pair of Cabriolets in the mid-2000s; a 997 GTS, 4S Targa, and an extensively modified 2010 Turbo that may as well have been a land-bound rocket ship. Today, Dr. Diaz splits time between her 2020 992 Carrera S, and her gleaming, green Taycan 4S Cross Turismo—the only EV she considered, as it still manages to capture the indescribable Porsche essence.
While some might buy a Porsche as status symbol, Dr. Diaz bases her purchases on passion for the exquisite combination of engineering, technology, driving excitement, and alluring style. It’s a formula the brand figured out decades ago, and has refined ever since. In some respects, the opposite of the COVID-19 virus’ evolution; rather than weakening in force, Porsches only get better. Fortunately, both results point toward a brighter future.

AN EARLY MORNING GATHERING OF PORSCHE AND COFFEE enthusiasts convened at Porsche West Palm Beach this past Spring. The warm rays of the gentle rising sun played across the widened fenders, colorful metallic flakes, and iconic “turbo” emblems of 911s, Caymans, Cayennes, and other Porsche models of every vintage. Each glistening example belonged to a member of the Gulfstream Region PCA—one of the newest and quickest-growing regions of the Porsche Club of America. The group’s membership has swelled to nearly 600 active Porsche owners in less than two years.
When it comes to a flood of specialized sports cars, it takes a truly special machine to stand out. Fortunately, a beautiful Hermes Speedster was on hand to impress even the most jaded of Porsche aficionados. With a hull and interior inspired directly by the legendary 356 Speedster, the impressive 30-foot watercraft was arguably the most popular motorized vehicle of the day.
Despite coming to fruition months before the onset of a global pandemic, the Gulfstream Region has enjoyed immediate success. Members regularly participate in meetups, group drives, road rallies, and philanthropic pursuits. This January, in honor of the Region’s second anniversary, leadership elected to partner with Gulfstream Goodwill Industries to host a private fundraising event at The Ben in downtown West Palm Beach. The festivities will help promote awareness of, and raise funds for Gulfstream Goodwill Industries’ many programs and efforts focused on preventing homelessness throughout Palm Beach County.
Braman Motorcars is proud to announce our lead sponsorship for the 2022 Gulfstream Region PCA & Gulfstream Goodwill Industries Drive to Provide Shelter and Home Security, Presented by Braman Motorcars.
Homelessness has become a simmering crisis throughout our city, and the wider South Florida area as wealth disparity, the influx of out-of-state residents, and mental illness concerns continue to increase. GGI provides jobs, work training, and shelters in an effort to help get our fellow citizens back on their feet as productive members of society.
If this past Spring’s Cars and Coffee event was any indication, this upcoming celebration will be yet another rewarding and exciting success for the Gulfstream Region.
The Gulfstream Region PCA is one of the newest and fastest growing regions of the Porsche Club of America, amassing nearly 600 members in less than two years. This January, the region will be celebrating by hosting a grand-prize sweepstakes in which one lucky winner will win a Brand-New 2023 Porsche Macan, courtesy of Braman Motorcars and Porsche West Palm Beach.

STAYING IN HIS LANES
A WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCE IS NOT ONLY WHAT BRAMAN MOTORCARS has long promised—it is what clients have come to expect. Perhaps the most crucial aspect to delivering on that commitment are our lauded client advisors. Each and every one recognizes the standard set, and acknowledges that anything less than excellence is unacceptable. This is why it’s rarely a surprise to learn many members of our staff are also outstanding outside of their day jobs. John Weltzien is but one example.
John has not only enjoyed a peerless, near two and a half-decade career with Braman Motorcars, but also reached the pinnacle of his chosen sport, spending years as an amateur and professional bowler.
The son of a bowling alley proprietor, John grew up with lane dressing in his blood. He won the 1972 collegiate team championships while at Colorado State, but left the sport briefly after graduation. He kept an eye on the PBA Tour however, and realized many of the top competitors were the same foes he’d previously vanquished. John auditioned for the Tour, naturally qualified, and spent the next decade of his life traveling for 40 weeks out of the year; competing across far-flung destinations including England, Ireland, Finland, and all fifty states. In all, he secured five titles.
Of course, the grueling schedule no longer held as much appeal once John met his wife, Angela. He retired from the PBA, left his home in Chicago behind for Boca Raton, and began a new career helping to manage a large bowling chain. Eventually, he found himself named the COO of AMF’s South American region—but life in Sao Paulo wasn’t a fit for his young family, and John returned stateside.
Throughout all the moves, two constants remained: his competitive edge, which he sharpened through various amateur bowling events, and his love for BMW. While sitting in the service department of a Broward County dealership, John found himself in a
conversation with an old acquaintance who happened to be the store’s General Sales Manager. His friend offered him a job, which John accepted, though he had no direct experience selling cars. Fortunately, reaching and excelling at the highest levels of competition had prepared him for the dedication necessary to succeed on this new path.
Building a stellar reputation, he was soon personally recruited to join Braman Motorcars, where he has since found the support and rewards that come from a company that fosters and reflects his values. Many on his list of loyal clients claim they couldn’t ever imagine purchasing a car with anyone else.
This past June, Braman Motorcars was exceptionally proud to sponsor three teams, under John’s management, competing in the USBC Open Championships in Las Vegas. Approximately 70,000 bowlers take part in the Open over a five-month period. To the surprise of none familiar with John’s expertise, one of his teams claimed ultimate victory.
It is yet another example of the relentless pursuit of excellence that John has adhered to throughout his life—and a standard which Braman Motorcars is honored to collaboratively uphold.

DESPITE THE STUNNING BENTLEY HIBERNATING in one of the garage spaces attached to his home—lovingly dubbed Chateau de Fleurs, or castle of flowers for his wife Lori’s passion for horticulture—Mike Lang is a blue collar, salt-of-the-earth kind of guy. Actually, he’s more of a sand-of-the-earth type, considering the subtle and charming khaki hue of his Continental GT convertible.
As far back as the age of 12, Mike was racing motocross bikes, fiddling with engines, and tagging along with his father to appointments fixing washers, dryers, and other appliances throughout northern New Jersey. One of his first visits brought them to the home of none other than Rudolph Isley, of the beloved family music group bearing his surname. A one hundred dollar tip to both Mike and his dad suggested that a lifetime of good old fashioned elbow grease might not be too bad. As his brother and sister left for college, Mike—an admittedly mediocre student—headed to trade school. Following his old man’s advice, he focused on air conditioning repair.
After his father lost his battle with Leukemia, Mike made the move to South Florida. He quickly found that A/C was more a necessity than a luxury in his newly adopted home state. Though the competition in the space was stiff, Air Around The Clock made a name for itself through a combination of fairly simple concepts; around the clock availability, same day service and never leaving a customer’s home without cold air.
The South Florida company was originally founded in 1988, by Eric Pereira and his father, Lenny. Mike joined the company in the 90’s, and has since been with the company over twenty-five years. Over that time, Air Around The Clock has grown tremendously, with more than 120 trucks on the road, answering up to
2,000 phone calls each day, and handling 400 service appointments daily.
However, a raucous after work conversation with his colleagues would ultimately birth the idea that would put the Air Around the Clock brand over the top; the top of both their customers’ minds, and South Florida’s highways, it would turn out.
The notorious “Your Wife Is Hot” billboards quickly became iconic; not only did they result in more phone calls and appointments than ever, but Air Around the Clock was forced to copyright the concept in Florida, and engage a law firm to manage the near-constant serving of cease and desist letters to the imitators that sprang up in its wake.
The sheer volume of new business might have changed the attitude of others—but not for ATC. They never anticipated being prosperous enough to give back to their communities in substantial ways.
Children’s sports teams were always sponsored; local fundraisers contributed toward; and the neighborhood kids all knew the ATC number to dial for school donations. Air Around the Clock was thrilled to indulge in all.
This attitude culminated in a recent venture ATC undertook for the Historic Stranahan House
Museum—the oldest original structure in Fort Lauderdale. The site was badly in need of a new air conditioning system. At stake was not only guest comfort, but the timeless artifacts displayed throughout the property. Mike contacted Rheem, one of their suppliers, promising that if they would donate the necessary unit, Air Around the Clock would provide the manpower. Work was completed this past August, just in time for school field trips to begin once more. ATC even helped produce a half-hour segment aired on the local ABC affiliate, encouraging others to donate to the museum.

Community service and a commitment to client care is an attitude Mike also found at Braman Motorcars. Having owned BMWs since the 1980s, Mike was introduced to the dealership group by his good friend, and Club Braman Magazine alum, Larry Podwill of iHeartMedia. Though he’d long appreciated the fine vehicles wearing the Bentley badge, the cost of entry was an affront to Mike’s blue collar roots— that was until the perfect certified pre-owned example entered the Braman Bentley Palm Beach showroom. The value proposition was too good to pass up. The Bentley was the same price as a modern 7 Series, and nearly as new. Now, he’s only half-joking when he claims he’s considering a Rolls-Royce in the future.
Throughout his success, Mike has maintained realistic goals, made attainable by focusing on the client. Air Around the Clock’s philosophy of providing unbeatable customer service and quick response times have made them the top Rheem and American Standard contractors in the United States, as well as being number one in large multi-zone homes. ATC has recently added both a plumbing division and a financing arm for clients unable to pay for work upfront. After all, hot wives across Florida deserve highquality HVAC service, regardless of their current financial situation.
A low-brow notion perhaps, but one courtesy of a stand-up group of guys.
SWIPING RIGHT: MALAYAN TIGER UP “DATE”
LOVE IS IN THE AIR AT PALM BEACH ZOO! Malayan tigers Api and Kadar were found to be a “match” years ago, and that is only part of the equation. Much like our own relationships, the remaining steps are up to the tigers themselves.
As tigers are solitary animals by nature, a group of population scientists at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) recently requested the reintroduction of Api and Kadar at the Zoo as part of the Malayan Tiger Species Survival Plan (SSP).
The SSP ensures a healthy population of animals in human care infused with genetic diversity for future generations. This is a crucial directive, as only two females within the AZA have recently given birth to cubs— one of which is our very own Api. As recently as May 2020, Api raised three healthy tigers, in addition to two other cubs previously. She has proven to be an outstanding mother.
Along with reproductive science specialists from the South-East Zoo Alliance for Reproduction & Conservation (SEZARC), the Palm Beach Zoo’s team was able to track Api’s cycles and determine when her hormone levels were at their highest.
This then kicked off the first of several meetings between Api and Kadar, known as “howdys.” During these “dates,” the two viewed each other through a barrier of protection. The successful howdies led to introductions in the habitat, which spanned a few hours over the course of three consecutive mornings. Much to the delight of the Zoo’s staff, both expressed interest in, and readily recalled the other, prompting several more “dates” to be scheduled in accordance with each tiger’s comfort.
Club Braman members can continue to follow along on this journey of love on the Zoo’s social media accounts. Stay tuned to @PalmBeachZoo for more.

THE EXPERIENCE OF ECSTASY
IN THE CONCURRENT WORLDS OF FINE DINING AND LUXURY AUTOMOBILES, more expense eventually eclipses a point of diminishing returns. Whether veal or vehicles, prices can increase infinitely—yet fall short in delivering value.
The key ingredient to lasting success doesn’t come from an exclusive supplier or list of option codes; it’s in the actual experience. Bradley Parker is acutely aware of this notion—and his impressive restaurant empire is a testament to its veracity.
The proprietor of the popular Chicago-based chain of Hampton Social, Brad understood that achieving success in a major metropolitan city required a unique approach. Eschewing the traditional steel belt, industrial aesthetic, he boldly designed Hampton Social around the airy lake homes and sun-drenched grass of the New York elite’s acclaimed summer playground. Every guest who steps through the doors is instantly transported away from their everyday lives. Brad acknowledges that at the end of the day, food is food; but escaping to a daydream—if only for the duration of an exquisite meal—is an experience that can’t be found just anywhere.
This philosophy extends to Brad’s garage, as well. Having owned countless exotic and luxury vehicles, his current Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge stands alone as a favorite, owing to its flawless merger of utility, luxury, and style. Beyond that however, the mere act of pulling out of the driveway is an inimitable experience—which only progresses in grandiosity with the continuation of the drive. The RollsRoyce formula is simply different; other cars provide a supple ride, whereas the Cullinan floats on a cloud. Nothing available on the road invokes the overwhelming calm and contentment of a Rolls-Royce.
Of course, Brad couldn’t resist adding his personal touch. A lengthy process of trial, error, and advisement by the Braman RollsRoyce Palm Beach staff hadn’t quite resulted in the perfect combination. Fortunately, his fiancé provided some timely inspiration; all that was missing from the black-on-black brute, was a few touches of gold.
Incorporating tasteful golden accents across the air vents, stitching, embroidered logos, speaker covers, and iconic Spirit of Ecstasy, Brad happily took delivery of not only a one-of-a-kind order, but one which captured his aesthetic brilliantly. The attention to detail, care, and experience Brad encountered through Braman at the process was truly
what made the experience a satisfying one—a virtue quite similar to the busy restauranteur’s own sentiment.
While Club Braman members are no strangers to such a World-Class Experience themselves, many will be heartened to hear yet another will soon become available courtesy of Brad, in the form of two Hampton Social locations coming to South Florida; a Delray Beach location in Atlantic Crossing is set for a late November opening and a Miami location in Mary Brickell Village is set for early 2023.
Which is to say, the young visionary’s version of the Rolls-Royce of dining experiences will be here before you know it.
To learn more about Hampton Social, visit TheHamptonSocial.com.THIS FALL, THE MIAMI HEAT SUITESTAKES TOUR provided South Florida BMW enthusiasts the chance to win a set of mini season tickets for the upcoming 2022-2023 NBA season. Entering was simply a matter of visiting Braman West Palm Beach and scanning the QR code on the Heat-wrapped M3, which made a brief stop on its regional tour.
