Vodka ingredients 1 sprig each: parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme 1 pint of vodka In a mason jar, add herbs, top with vodka, seal and shake. Place in a cool dark place, like the kitchen cupboard, for two to five days (longer for a stronger flavored vodka), shaking once daily. Remove herbs before serving.
Cocktail ingredients 1½ oz. infused vodka (see recipe above) 3 oz. cranberry juice ½ oz. dry vermouth In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients. Shake until chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a sage leaf.

Positive Impact While G.W. Bailey has tackled myriad roles in his lengthy career—from the lackadaisical Sgt. Rizzo on the TV series M*A*S*H, to the hilarious Capt. Harris in the Police Academy films, to his current turn as Louie Provenza on TNT’s Major Crimes—none has been as meaningful as being the executive director for the Sunshine Kids. This nationwide nonprofit adds quality of life for children with cancer by providing exciting group activities so they can have fun like other kids. Bailey will carve out time from his hectic schedule to attend Sunshine Kids’ events in Naples and Fort Myers this month. The versatile actor and doting grandfather took a break from lunch with his grandson to talk with us about his career and the Sunshine Kids. —Kat Smith NI: How did you discover your passion for the Sunshine Kids? That’s funny because it’s someone else’s discomfort and that’s pretty universal. What about you would surprise people? I’m very proud, and I’ll get teary-eyed if I’m not careful, that I take such great care of my family, especially my grandkids. We have a special relationship. Have I spoiled them? Hopelessly, horribly. I say this unashamedly, they are very lucky that I’m their grandfather. If I’ve learned anything with Sunshine Kids over 30 years, it’s that life is an eye blink, so during that blink, we have responsibility to make it as strong and positive an experience as possible. of animals
Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Sharon von Arx was never allowed to keep a pet. But she longed to make animals a part of her life. “I could hardly wait to find the right man who loved animals as much as I did,” she says. Since moving to Naples in 1992, Sharon and her husband, Dolph, have devoted their philanthropic efforts to environmental conservation and animal protection. For the past three years, they have paid for the Humane Society Naples to maintain an adoption center in the Coastland Mall. This prime location, according to the von Arxes, has increased adoptions by 50 to 60 percent. The von Arxes have also long been esteemed supporters of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. The couple provided the lead gift to fund the creation of the Conservancy’s wildlife-rehabilitation hospital, and this past summer, they announced a $500,000 state grant—and a matching donation of their own—to expand the hospital’s facilities. “Basically, we’re crowded; we’ve got to build new cages and new holding areas,” says Dolph, a former ad man and food-industry executive. He joined the Conservancy board in 1998 and was chairman from 2010 to 2012. In addition to two outdoor rehab structures and animal-recovery areas, the $2 million expansion will provide a new educational center where visitors can learn about the native wildlife and view “ambassador animals.” These animals, often birds of prey, have been rehabbed but their injuries make them unable to survive in the wild. When the new facilities are completed, the Conservancy hopes to serve as many as 5,000 animals a year, many of which can be returned to the wild. Watching a bird that has been in a cage fly away is a thrill, says Sharon, who serves on the Conservancy’s events committee. “It’s like a watching a little kid walking, You feel like you were part of it.” «

The Women of Trinity at Trinity-By-The-Cove Church will deck the halls and open the doors to holiday shoppers for the sixtieth anniversary Christmas Market November 14. As the longest running charity fundraiser in Naples, the annual holiday bazaar has much to celebrate, having raised nearly $1 million for Collier County charities since it began. In the early years, the booths featured mostly handmade goods. Neapolitan Mary Watkins, whose family founded and still owns The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, has been going since the first year. “It started as a bazaar, and women in the parish made things,” she recalls. Over time, the market grew with professional vendors. This year, 20 booths will entice with jewelry, confections, accessories, and more. Despite fond memories, Watkins believes in moving forward, noting that the modern-day market does a great job of making money for charity. Among the perennially popular booths are the Golden Elephant, selling “attic treasures,” and one of Watkins’ faves, the Women of Trinity Gourmet Booth. “Those things are pretty special,” she says. —Kat Smith Trinity-By-The-Cove circa 1957

FOREVER GROWING The Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs (artcenterbonita.org) may have started small—as an art league with some 300 members and no permanent home. But since the year 2000, when the group opened its first two-building center, it has grown to five buildings on two campuses. Its two newest performance arts buildings on the Bonita Beach Road campus recently underwent major makeovers that upgraded the Karin & Robert Moe Auditorium to state-of-the-art film center status and added more lobby space, a dedicated dance studio, and a covered outdoor entry space. To take advantage of the new Film Center, the organization is—by popular demand—expanding film offerings to include an international film festival. (Read more about it on page 70.)

“Hitchcock Meets Hilarious” is the tagline for 39 Steps, presented by the Naples Players (naplesplayers.org) February 3-27. The spy thriller farce involves a mysterious female spy and the debonair, hapless fellow in whose apartment her dead body is discovered. The headlining comedy this season for the Naples Players, however, is the new musical based on Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, says Artistic Director Dallas Dunnagan. It faithfully adapts the iconic 1974 film to the stage March 2-April 4.

Musical virtuoso Michael Feinstein often presents performances at Artis—Naples, but for the first time he will be performing with and conducting the Naples Philharmonic, February 19 and 20. Other huge news at Artis—Naples this season: The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performs March 1 and 2 as part of a three-year agreement for a residency with the hall, a partnership that CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen says reinforces Naples’ cultural significance. It will be the first time the elite orchestra has performed in Florida. The only other U.S. venue Vienna Philharmonic will be playing this tour is Carnegie Hall. Also at Artis—Naples, contemporary music fans will delight in the performances of famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma (November 14), saxophonist Dave Koz (November 28), and the ever-popular singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka (December 13). Another special treat: Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester will perform cabaret-style concerts for TheatreZone February 18 and 19.
Opera aficionados also have plenty to applaud this season. Opera Naples performs in “Opera in the Garden,” the debut of a new series at Naples Botanical Garden February 9. At the Center for Performing Arts Bonita Springs, Quattro “Four Divo,” billed as an “operatic pop supergroup,” brings an elegant, sensual brand of music February 4. From divo to divas: Classic Chamber Concerts (classicchamberconcerts.org) presents 18th Century Divas March 7. A triple bill of internationally renowned lyric coloraturas will sing virtuoso arias by Salieri, Gluck, Handel, and Mozart, accompanied by the Fifth Avenue Chamber Orchestra. Gulfshore Opera calls its Saint Matthew’s Passion “a once-in-a-lifetime Lenten experience” and a first for Southwest Florida. On stage March 20 at North Naples United Methodist Church, the performance sets the gospel of Matthew to music through Bach’s sacred oratorio.

To celebrate the expansion and renovation of its performing arts campus, Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs has expanded its film presence with the Southern Circuit Independent Filmmakers Series and its inaugural Bonita Springs International Film Festival in February. “We already had a strong foreign film following on Monday nights almost 52 weeks out of the year,” says President Susan Bridges. “That’s what sort of prompted us that there might be a different aspect of film we could address.” Bonita Springs is one of only 18 Southern communities screening the 2015-16 circuit series. The Centers for the Arts will show the series on select Tuesday evenings. The new international film festival February 11–16 brings filmmakers—many award winners—from around the world to shine the spotlight on Bonita Springs, a little town with big cinematic clout. It will also showcase local talent, says Bridges. More than 70 films will range from “kidz shortz” to narrative films and feature documentaries in a daily mix of styles. Workshops, filmmaker Q&As, and a gala opening are all on the calendar. “That’s what makes film festivals so fascinating,” says Bridges. “You have a whole variety of things to do.”

It takes place on three weekends throughout the season at Riverside Park in Bonita Springs, presented by the Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs. This season’s dates: January 9 and 10, January 30 and 31, and March 5 and 6. The Naples Art Association’s (naplesart.org) Naples National Art Festival has been ranked No. 9 in Sunshine Artist. The 37-year juried downtown festival takes place February 20 and 21. ArtsNaples World Festival (stayinmay.com), a relative newcomer to Naples’ art events, started in 2010 to showcase all art disciplines—visual, orchestra, culinary, chamber music, cinematic, dance, fashion, theater, and opera—from a specific world region. This year’s festival, which will celebrate arts from around the globe, runs April 25–May 8.

During the social season, countless events clamor for attention and ultimately a place in our heart. Despite the competition, the annual Hats in the Garden, which is Naples Botanical Garden’s signature fundraising spectacular slated for November 11, has become a can’t-miss Naples soiree with tickets sold out months in advance. Few understand the Garden’s appeal better than its Sustaining Leadership Council, which is instrumental in cultivating the Garden’s style and ever-expanding offerings. Several of its members gather prior to the event for a Hats Champagne & Dessert reception, a delicious preview of what’s in store for this month’s Hats in the Garden. Lu Drackett’s Port Royal residence serves as a stunning backdrop for the festivities. As a founding member of the SLC who has been involved in Hats in the Garden since its inception in 2004, Drackett graciously hosts the reception. The theme for this year’s Hats in the Garden is “The Confection Collection: Delectable Designs from Garden to Runway,” a nod to anyone with a fashionable sweet tooth. At today’s reception, sneak peeks of the inspiration behind the chefs’ runway creations are peppered throughout the party scene. Guests wander from one showpiece to another, taking in the creativity of each sugary work of art. It is evident that the 2015 Hats in the Garden fashion show promises many exciting reveals. “We try not to say: ‘How are we going to top that?’,” says Karen Scott, who has chaired Hats four times and is part of the Garden’s SLC. “We try to say, ‘What can we do that’s different that hasn’t been done before?’” For the preview reception, Jack Raben, executive chef for Lurcat Catering and the Garden’s Fogg Café, has created a fascinator. Using a palm leaf headband as a base, Raben sits a delicate plume of sugar, shellacked herbs, and an edible flower atop handcrafted caramel tulle. Also embracing classic, elegant style is Grace Bolen of Grace & Shelly’s Cupcakes. Spun sugar gives her striking pillbox hat constructed out of Rice Krispies and fondant a pop of gold. While today’s hat is Tiffany blue, Bolen may change the hue depending on what colors she discovers in Herrera’s collection. She also confides that inspiration for the piece came from her own life. Long a fan of the storied pillbox hat, she wore one on her wedding day. The artistry of Lexie Ward’s piece demands close inspection. The gorgeous handpainted sugar flowers of her headpiece are so lifelike that partygoers lean in to verify the lilies are not real. The Tony’s Off Third pastry chef painstakingly cut, shaped,

With that same attention to detail, Ward has crafted sulfur butterflies to hover above the flowers and “dance” as the model walks down the runway. The attendees are treated to more than just eye candy. Each chef serves a miniature dessert inspired by the afternoon. Offerings include everything from a sumptuous tiered Key lime cake by Ward to miniature wedding cakes resting on edible lace doilies by local cake designer Karen Vazquez of Kakes By Karen. “The amount of talent in Naples amazes me,” says Drackett as she surveys the surroundings. Between bites, talk returns to the Garden. Kathleen Kapnick shares her daughter’s recent engagement. While a laundry list of decisions lie ahead of her as mother-of-the-bride, one that she can already check off her list is location. The Garden has been a labor of love for Kapnick and her family. When her father-in-law, Harvey Kapnick, passed away unexpectedly, the family took up

his vision—to help the garden’s eight founders take it from a simple plot of land to a world-class facility. The Kapnick family has worked tirelessly since 2002 to help make that dream come true. “My daughter is getting married there and there’s no better place in Naples for a wedding,” says Kapnick, who has previously served as chair and co-chair of Hats, and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and the SLC’s Executive Committee. “Harvey would have loved to have seen that.” And while the ladies excitedly catch up and continue to buzz about this year’s Hats in the Garden, there is still the unavoidable question lingering in the room: “What ever will we do next year?” «

Eugenio “Mikey” Tinajero, the new executive chef at Pazzo! Cucina Italiana on Fifth Avenue South, is an American success story. He came to Naples from Mexico at 13. Two years later, while in high school, he began washing dishes in a pizza shop. After starting at Pazzo! in 2008, Tinajero worked his way up from line cook to sous chef, and finally reached the top. “We’re one big family at Pazzo,” he explains. “I had to leave family behind in Mexico. When I started working here, it felt like home.” As this month marks Pazzo!’s twentieth anniversary, we speak to the restaurant’s top chef about the milestone, his cooking style, and a few of his favorite things. —Mark Spivak

Mexican versus Italian cooking: The ingredients are different, but many techniques are similar, particularly roasting and braising. Best meal to cook at home: Breakfast. It’s the part of the day when we’re all together. My son is just over a year old, and he loves omelets and scrambled eggs. Person I’d most like to cook for: Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue. He’s an expert in the industry and knows a great deal about food, so it would be a real challenge. Favorite ingredient: Roasted butternut squash—if done well, it can be simple but perfect. We make ravioli with it, bathe the pasta in a sauce of prosciutto, sun-dried tomato, and onions, and top that with a biscotti walnut crumble. Most unusual item in his home fridge: Tamales similar to what my mom makes in Mexico. The corn is cooked in ashes from a charcoal fire, then wrapped in bamboo and steamed. Ultimate dinner: One of my own dishes, a lamb shank with pistachio pesto, lamb demi-glace, and risotto. We run it as a special during the season. It’s really flavorful, and something I take a lot of pride in. Essence of cooking style: We make everything from scratch, and our dishes have many layers of flavor. For example, we braise beef in a red wine tomato sauce for six hours, until it becomes a reduction with a deep and rich meat flavor. We use that sauce in a number of dishes, such as our short-rib meatballs and chicken parmigiana. On Pazzo! turning 20: Most employees are long-term. We have people who have been there from the beginning. It was an honor to be chosen as chef on the restaurant’s twentieth anniversary, and I hope it goes another 20 years.

Hosted by the Naples Art Association (naplesart.org), this creative program pairs a local artist with a local chef to present a work of art and a culinary masterpiece together. Taste FIESTA FRANCHISE Paul Schmidgall’s fascination with paella began more than 20 years ago on a small island near Spain. It was ignited by the passion for the rice-based dish of an elderly señora who taught him how to make it. Chef Paul, as he is known, a Johnson & Wales grad, now serves up traditional paella Valenciana, a deluxe all-seafood version, and other dishes with his Naples-based business FIRE & RICE. The portable paella parties, which provide a fun alternative to the usual catered affair, exploded in popularity after the Fire & Rice trucks began setting up shop at many

local farmers markets. Because of the increased demand, Schmidgall recently decided to franchise his business model and methods for cooking up the delicious Spanish specialty. While most people are chowing down on kale for its earthy flavor and health benefits, a surprising thing about the leafy green vegetable is that dogs may love it even more. For best friends Paula Savarese and Dawn Ward, this discovery sparked a business, DOGS LOVE KALE (dogslovekale.com), which sells healthy, all-natural dog treats. “One day when we made some kale chips, our three dogs just went crazy for the smell and the crunch,” says Ward. “After we did some research and found out that kale is wonderful for dogs—it contains all kinds of vitamins and minerals that help make their skin healthier and their coats softer and shinier—the light bulb went off in Paula’s head.” After some initial trial and error and a year and a half of business, the North Naples residents’ Dogs Love Kale treats now come in eight flavors and are available in nearly 3,000 stores across the country, including Whole Foods and Petco’s Unleashed specialty shops. Savarese says, “People are intrigued by the name, and when they look at our ingredient list, they want to try it because it’s so limited. Few holidays cry out for sweet wine more than Thanksgiving. The turkey itself almost demands an offdry white with crisp, balancing acidity. When you get to the classic trio of pies (apple, pecan, and pumpkin), only an intensely sweet wine will do—particularly if you subscribe to the theory that a dessert wine should always be sweeter than the dish it accompanies. Tokaji is the granddaddy of all sweet wines. It was around before Sauternes and also predates the modern form of Port. The Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region straddles northeastern Hungary and southeastern Slovakia. The vineyards were so well regarded that they were ranked on a quality scale nearly a century before the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. Although dry and semisweet varieties exist, the area is best known for sweet wines made from grapes affected by botrytis cinerea, or “noble rot.” The sweetest among them, sometimes called Aszú Essencia, or simply Essencia, is the most famous of all. Louis XV drank Essencia at the court of Versailles, where he called it “The Wine of Kings, and the King of Wines.” Thomas Jefferson imported it to America, paying the highest price of any wine in his collection. It was extremely popular during the rule of Russia’s Romanov dynasty, and supposedly the finest Essencia was given to the czars on their deathbeds. (All their lives they had to skimp by drinking Cristal, but at the brink of death they were given a glass of Essencia.) Sadly, the great sweet wines of Tokaji didn’t survive the transition to modern times any better than the Austro-Hungarian Empire did, which is not surprising. Demand for sweet, expensive wine is the first thing to decline in periods of economic stress and one of the last to recover. After two World Wars and the Great Depression, production of Essencia was at a standstill. At its best, the process is slow and labor-intensive. The grapes must be picked individually at their peak of

ripeness, then pounded into a paste and fermented in large wooden casks. The sugar level is so high that fermentation can take as long as five years to complete. The good news is that a number of modern producers have brought Essencia back into the spotlight. Probably the best known and most widely available of these is the Royal Tokaji Wine Company, founded in Hungary in 1990 by Hugh Johnson, the famed British wine writer and scholar. The bad news is the wine is far from cheap. A 500-ml bottle of Royal Tokaji Essencia will fetch anywhere from $600 to $800. Royal Tokaji Aszú Essencia is somewhat more reasonable at $300 to $400. Part of the wine’s price is due to its rarity: Only five vintages have been released since 1993, in years when weather conditions were perfect for the formation of botrytis. When consuming true Essencia, as opposed to similarly named wines produced elsewhere in the world, you’ll be rewarded with an elixir that is rich and unctuous. It is gloriously sweet and honeyed, with low alcohol and refreshing acidity, and bursting with flavors of citrus, apricots, and exotic tropical fruits. With something that good, who needs a trio of pies? «

With the new dining room now closer to the kitchen, it eliminated the need for another table in the breakfast area. Survival Swim Lessons Many parents think about teaching their children how to swim in the summer. But it’s always sunny on the Paradise Coast, so it’s never too early to focus on drowning prevention, especially when it comes to young children, who are most at risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the highest drowning rates are among kids aged 1 to 4. And with year-round swimming the norm in Southwest Florida, it’s more important than ever for parents to consider at least teaching their children the basics. Leigh Ann Newman, a Neapolitan survival swim instructor certified by PediaSwim (southwestaquatics.com/pedia-swim), teaches infants to swim as young as six months all the way to 6 years old. “If they’re already crawling, they’re definitely ready. When they become mobile, it gets dangerous,” says Newman, who runs ABC Swim School in Naples (abcswimschoolnaples.com). She works oneon-one or will teach a small group in the privacy of their own home pool. “The infant needs to be able to hold their head steady and reach for things with a purpose,” she says. Newman focuses solely on survival swimming, with a swim-floatswim sequence, which is learning to swim with the face in the water while holding one’s breath, then be able to turn onto the back to float and breathe, and then turn back over to swim again. “For 1-year-olds and younger, they usually are just able to do the turn-over-to-float part of the sequence,” she says, “I want them to have the instinct to know when they fall in the water, they automatically turn to float as soon as they need to. Floating is the key to keeping them safe because there may not be a side of the pool to swim to—if they’re in the Gulf, for example.” Newman says it takes about four lessons a week for four to six weeks to teach the survival swim sequence, but the lessons are only 10 minutes long per session.

The New Rules of Investing
As the economic environment has changed, so has the investment game. Here, three new rules of thumb to keep in mind. By Judy Martel

e’ve all heard the common rules of investing: Don't withdraw more than 4 percent of your portfolio if you want to maintain principal; save 25 times your current salary before retiring; greater risk equals greater reward. But do these accepted words of wisdom still hold true in today’s global economic environment of low interest rates and high stock-market volatility? Ben Carlson, author of A Wealth of Common Sense: Why Simplicity Trumps Complexity in any Investment Plan (Wiley, 2015) and blogger at awealthofcommonsense.com, says the old rules provide a good baseline, and many have held true even through the worst economic times. But just because today’s market has gotten more complicated, it doesn’t mean investors can’t keep things simple and still achieve success. “People make it harder on themselves than it needs to be,” Carlson says. “Because the markets are complex, people assume they need a complex strategy, but I found that the simpler plan—one that is low cost and tax efficient—is best,” he adds. “Keep it simple, and don’t make decisions based on emotion.”

Automation Cancels Emotion
Putting your financial goals on autopilot allows you to stay on track and not get confused by day-to-day advice coming from all directions. “I’m a big fan of automating your portfolio and savings,” Carlson says. “It takes you and your emotions out of the equation.” The easiest and most effective way to save for retirement is to have money deducted from your paycheck and deposited into a tax-advantaged 401(k) or similar account. An added benefit is a company match and a lower income-tax bill. Another way to continually add to your portfolio, he says, is to allow investment companies to automatically deduct a specified amount each month from your bank or checking account. Rebalancing is easy and automatic through most mutual funds, Carlson says. “Set the parameters of your allocation— let’s say a 60-40 stock-bond allocation. Then set the date—whether it’s the first of the year, your birthday, or whatever you choose—and the mutual-fund company will automatically buy and sell within your holdings to maintain your chosen allocation.”

“A lot of people look at investments like collectibles and think they need a little of everything,” Carlson says. But a portfolio spread among 20 investments only increases the complexity and confusion, he points out. “A good starting point for the novice is what a lot of 401(k) plans use, which is a target-date fund,” he says. “It’s very easy and diversified, with a blend of stocks and bonds.” These funds also automatically rebalance, increasing the percentage of fixed income as investors move closer to their retirement date. Those who want a more sophisticated portfolio could beef up holdings among exchange-traded funds and mutual funds but should still limit it between three and 10 funds, Carlson says. “The simplest strategy is the three-fund approach,” he says. All major mutual fund companies have similar products that meet the criteria; for instance, Vanguard has the Total Stock Market Index Fund and the Total Bond Market Index Fund. “You get something like 18,000 securities spread across all geographies and asset classes, and the cost of the funds is cheap,” Carlson says. It may not be the perfect portfolio from the standpoint of professional advisers, Carlson adds, but it will protect you from the worst-case financial scenario. “While you might be able to do better, you could also do a lot worse— and that’s important to keep in mind,” he says.

Pulling income from a portfolio in today’s lowinterest environment is frustrating and perhaps one area of investing that is more complicated today than it was a few decades ago. “During the 1980s and ’90s, when bonds were paying 5 percent to 9 percent, people were just looking at yield,” Carlson says. Investors need to focus on total return, with income coming from a mix of equities and bonds, Carlson says. While bonds aren’t delivering much in the way of yield, they do act as a brake on the total portfolio if the country suffers another steep stock-market decline. “In 2008, you wouldn’t want to withdraw from stocks while they were falling, so you needed some bonds,” Carlson says. When stocks are up, investors harvest dividends and capital gains for income. , a full-time resident of Moorings Park in Naples, is credited with introducing the Hats in the Garden concept to Naples Botanical Garden a decade ago. Since then the event has become the signature sell-out fundraiser for the Garden, where Berger has served on the board of directors for the past six years.

1. Guilty pleasure: It comes in a tall green bottle. (Laughs.) We have such a great time to celebrate it in January with the Naples Winter Wine Festival. I’m currently loving Domaine Serene from Grace and Ken Evenstad’s vineyard in Oregon. They make a wonderful Pinot Noir. 2. Favorite outdoor activity: I do love gardening, am pretty much non sportive! I do enjoy walking, Favorite quote: especially the Gordon River “Where there is no Green Way. While I’m there vision, the people it’s a joy to stop in to the will perish.” Conservancy of Southwest —Proverbs 29:18 Florida.
3. Favorite charities: I’m totally dedicated and spiritually involved with the Naples Botanical Garden. I have been lucky enough to serve on the board and participate in the major fundraising events of the garden. I’m also very involved with Artis—Naples. I underwrite the harp in Naples Philharmonic, Dickie Fleisher is my chair. He’s a wonderful artist and a kind man. My husband and I have done that for about 15 years. 4. Favorite travel destination: Italy. Forte dei Marmi in the summer, and Milan is truly my favorite city. I lived there for seven years. My favorite place to stay is the Bulgari Hotel in Milan. 5. Best locally made product: Kristi’s Key Lime Cookies, by owner and creator Kim Casciero 9 6. Favorite book: Kay Thompson’s Eloise at The Plaza, with illustrations by Hilary Knight. 7. Favorite restaurant: Dolce & Salato. I feel like I have had an authentic Italian experience. My favorite is the Carpaccio Di Manzo. 8. Go-to scent: Waterlily Sun, Aerin 9. Best place to shop: We are so lucky to have both Marissa Collections and Saks Fifth Avenue. What else could a girl need?
