There is a dog’s paw. There is a whale. There is even a flamingo. The Boaters’ Grille burgee wall displays more than 90 Naples Yacht Club members’ custom-designed burgees. Want to join in and create your own burgee? The creative possibilities are endless, whether you go with a simple monogram or choose to declare your love for a particular breed of dog or hobby. Here are a few steps to get you started:
• Identify an image, symbol, or design element that represents you. • Decide the shape of the flag that you prefer: pennant, swallow-tail, tapered, or rectangular. • Choose a simple color palette. Most burgees have four colors or fewer.
Once you have a design in mind—or if you need help getting started—contact Dave Hearn of Signarama at (239) 330-3737. He has created burgees for many NYC members!
