No matter your level of woo-woo, we all go through phases. Tuning into the waxing and waning of the lunar cycles can help guide your own inner work, and a new moon is a particularly powerful time to set intentions.

“Utilizing cycles of the moon as a tool for transitional alignment dates back before the Babylonian era,” says West Palm Beach resident Shawna Cason, cofounder of Earth Speak Media (earth speak.love), a digital community rooted in Earth-based spirituality. “When the moon begins a new cycle, it is marked by the absence of luminescent light and is representative of renewal, a blank slate, giving permission to manifest new desires or commit to former resolutions for continued growth.”

As full moons alternate with new moons every two weeks, “the arrivals of both can be thought of as nature guiding us back into a harmonious rhythm,” Cason explains. The lunar phases therefore symbolize an invitation to “evaluate how we are feeling and make necessary adjustments.”
