OCEAN PALMS TO MOUNTAIN PINES

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 2021

Aspectacular and challenging driving adventure takes us north on Hwy 33 to its junction with Hwy 166 and then a combination of back roads to Frazier Park. Along the way we’ll make a few stops for spectacular photo opportunities, shopping for pistachios at the farm stands, and marveling at the majestic peaks, the agricultural valleys, and the pine forests at elevations in excess of 6,000 feet. Most of all, take the challenge of S curves and straightaways that stretch as far as the eye can see. Hang on tight!

We will meet at 8:30 a.m. and depart at 9:00. Participants will be given notice of the meeting place at least 10 days before the event. This tour is now BYO lunch. There are picnic tables at Pine Mountain Club (with the expectation that you will please clean up after your use). There is also a small restaurant with Mexican food if you so choose.

The SBR activity fee is $5 per person payable at the start of the event in Ventura (exact cash amounts will be appreciated). If you plan on participating, please send an email to nicolasliakas@ gmail.com with your name, the names of anyone with you, and your email address and cell phone number.

Do note that this tour is not for the faint-of-heart! Navigating this four-hour drive-time round-trip route will require full attention: the curves, the cliffs, the changes in elevation demand it. Please take this caution seriously.
