Take me to the Moon A suitcase is a container of unique universes, a symbolic object that extends individual identity. The person carrying it owns there a part of his or her inner self. The suitcase is located between desire and fact, between possibility and event. The specific weight, shape, color, the contents of the luggage itself; accumulation of determining data. Organizing them is a matter of calculation and precision. A suitcase, when shipped, acquires codes, signs, marks and stains. Then the journey begins. “91 kilos weighed each full suit of the Apollo XI astronauts with their backpack, helmets, boots and radio equipment, keeping also a range of six hours and 30 minutes of emergency oxygen time.”1 The journey was completed in nine days, “The era of discoveries on Earth had come to an end, the planet was almost completely mapped, so where to go after Earth, if not to outer space?”2. Moon dust, meteorites, a blue marble floating in a vacuum, the footprint, abandoned boots, the weightless, “magnificent desolation”3. Craters, rocks and a gray landscape of deep shadows. Reinvent, imagine, turn the journey into a stage, a portable theater. Assemble and rearm the puzzle. Let the experience be unique and diverse, - Do not lose the sense of adventure. That’s what life is about.4

Melancolía I In the engraving Melancolía I, which Dürer made in 1514, a winged being appears as a central character: a woman with a slightly bowed head, leaning over her left hand and her gaze fixed at a distant point, invisible to us. A famished dog accompanies her, sleeps beside her; the sea is seen in the distance and in the sky, a comet fills the afternoon with portents. Saturn, the relentless time, invades the entire scene with its presence. Various tools and objects lie abandoned around the figure. The work has been interrupted... Is it tedium that has taken hold of it, is it indolence, sadness, sleep? It is not the dream that paralyzes your energy - Panofsky tells us but thought. In this poetic allegory of creative meditation, Dürer merges two perceptions; the medieval idea that conceived the melancholic temperament as extreme acedia, causing boredom, clumsiness and neglect; and the Renaissance representation, which takes up the Aristotelian approach and attributes to melancholy the power of contemplation, imagination and genius. This work, full of mystery and wealth, offers us a list of symbols to interpret; the tools and characters of the engraving become signs, hieroglyphs, footprints ...
