On behalf of Ava and myself, I would like to welcome you to our 2nd online bull sale. Thank you for considering our genetics for your breeding requirements. Thank you to all of our customers over the last four decades for your support of our breeding program. Our goal is to produce bulls that will go out and produce calves that will have strong industry acceptance. To see our customers calves sell at the top of the market and get rewarded for all your hard work is very gratifying for us. The past year has certainly had it challenges and made for some creativity in developing feeding rations. It is nice to see lots of snow returning to many areas, and will no doubt be positive for dugouts and allowing for spring grass to thrive when the warm days return. Our farm is located on marginal sandy land and the cowherd is pastured on native marshland pastures. The cowherd has calved on grass for decades, and as such, we have selected genetics that can thrive in this environment. Short gestation length, calf vigor at birth and females with sound teat and udder quality are a must. By utilizing an extensive A.I. program, we are able to access high accuracy sires that allow us to achieve those goals.
The bulls are backgrounded as yearlings on a high roughage ration and summered on grass as yearlings. I begin to supplement the bulls in late August with pellets. They were brought home in October to further develop them on a mixed ration that consisted this year of millet silage, canola silage and a bull developer pellet. WELCOME TO THE 2ND ANNUAL WHITE MEADOW CHAROLAIS BULL SALE.
This is one of the last sales of the spring, but don’t panic if you haven’t found a good bull with extra age yet. Last year, we sold bulls into some top breeders’ programs at affordable prices. Top to bottom, this is a very solid set of coming two-year old and long yearling bulls that are quiet, sound and consistent. Michael has two calving periods with some calving in May and June and then the fall program calving in September and October. They calve on grass, just like many of you do. He does this to spread the work load out, as he basically is a one-man operation, and has used an extensive AI program for years. Again, this year there are many 1/2 and 3/4 brothers on offer with the proven LT Sundance bull in many of the pedigrees. They have great bred in calving ease but still enough genetic punch to give you the market topping calves. Touring the operation this summer, I found a sound, good uddered set of females that raise their calves on their own. Videos will be available online at www.bylivestock.com, so you can have a preview of the offering before you decide you want to have a look in person. The bulls will be available for viewing at the farm anytime leading up to the end of the sale. Come to view the bulls, their dams and the program, in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know Michael, if you have not met him before. He has been involved in the Charolais breed all his life and is a real historian on the breed and pedigrees. The bulls are selling through the DLMS Farmgate Timed Online Auction. Online bidding will open on April 12th and close at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13th, with a racehorse style close with extending bidding time. The farm is located in between Souris and Pipestone, just west of what used to be the town of Deleau. They are just a mile north of Hwy #2 with a sign at the corner. The buckskin and silver calves are the industry standard now and have been consistently in demand and topping the markets across the country. HERD HEALTH AND FERTILITY
Sale bulls have been treated twice for parasites with Ivomec and Clean-up, vaccinated with Bovashield FP 5 and will receive two doses of Fusogard for foot rot prevention. Breeding females receive Bovashield FP 5. Calves are given Inforce 3 at birth and Covexin 8.
SEMEN TEST AND WEIGHTS
All bulls will be examined, scrotal measured, semen tested and palpated by a licensed veterinarian prior to the sale. Scrotal measurements and current weights will be available.

At closing time of the sale, the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes, if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 minutes, the computer will declare the sale finished. 5. Within 24 hours of the sale close, the Sale Manager will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/pick up of your lot.
WHAT IS A RACEHORSE STYLE CLOSE?
Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.
HOW EXTENDED BIDDING WORKS
When we get to the close out end time, the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 minutes on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

immediately after the sale in Canadian funds. All settlements must be made before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made. BIDDING: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, or owner. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements made sale day will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made. DELIVERY: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk. BREEDER GUARANTEE - BULLS: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows
known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, or seller assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.
