POP! FIELD TRIP PERFORMANCE SERIES

OTHELL O

THE U NKNOWN S OL D I E R

What happens when evil and manipulation are loosed upon a world where inequity and jealousy already reign? When suspicion, xenophobia, and distrust flourish, how can love survive? How can we decipher the truth when lies and deceit become commonplace, and a person’s word is no longer their bond? Set in a stark, not-so-distant-future, The Warehouse Theatre’s touring production of William Shakespeare’s Othello asks these timeless questions.

With a tour timed to honor the centenary of WWI and America’s entry in 1917, The Unknown Soldier explores themes of war, duty, courage, and sacrifice. Telling two stories a century apart, this poignant new work brings history to life and helps students understand the past from a whole new perspective.

C IR Q U E M E C HA N ICS: PEDA L PUN K Enter the world of Pedal Punk, a Steampunk inspired place where cycling is the way to escape a technology obsessed society. Experience the excitement, artistry, and thrill that occurs when a wacky bike shop mechanic interacts with cyclists and bikes. Repairing more than broken pieces, he creates wondrous machines and inspires the cyclist in all of us to become a Pedal Punk. The synergy between man and machine, the hallmark of Cirque Mechanics, is exposed in a magnificent way in Pedal Punk. It is that synergy that The New York Times calls “exceptional, evocative, eye-catching and grossly entertaining…in a word, excellent.”
