MUSIC DRE AM WE AVING: Â GULL AH STORIES AND SONGS Dream Weaving: Gullah Stories and Songs is a spellbinding presentation about the customs, beliefs, folkways, language, and heritage of the Gullah people. Created and performed by Ron and Natalie Daise, who starred in Nick Jr. TV's award-winning Gullah Gullah Island, the production intricately blends stories and songs of the Gullah people with humor, harmony, and humanity. WHO STOLE THE MONA LISA? Storytelling comes alive in three unique ways for one spellbinding production. 1911’s great mystery of “Who Stole the Mona Lisa?” is brought to life through an animated short film, accompanied by Igor Stravinsky's magical suite from The Firebird live on solo piano. The adventures of storytelling continue with narration of Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale and musical selections from George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. HARLEM 10 0 Harlem 100: Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance recognizes one of the most influential artistic movements of our country and gives insight into Harlem then and now. This multimedia performance presents musicians and dancers in a modern variety show that captures the sights and sounds of Harlem when legendary artists such as Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Langston Hughes, and Billie Holiday made it the nexus for African American culture. Influenced by the music from her mother’s hometown of New Orleans and her father’s Trinidadian culture, Jazzy Ash has been praised by Sirius XM Radio’s Kids Place Live as their “favorite new musical discovery” and continues to top the children’s music charts. With a full six-piece band and upbeat catchy music styles of jazz and zydeco, get ready to have a grand ol’ time on a swingin’ musical tour of New Orleans.

SCIENCE NATIONAL GEOGR APHIC LIVE: EXPLORING MARS WITH KOBIE BOYKIN S As senior mechanical engineer for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Kobie Boykins helped design and build the solar arrays for the Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity. He has monitored headline-making studies, including proof that there was once water on Mars, indicating that the red planet could have supported life. Boykins will give students an inside look at what Curiosity and other Mars rovers have discovered on the red planet, as well as what’s ahead for the future of Mars exploration.

NATIONAL GEOGR APHIC LIVE: OCE AN SOUL WITH BRIAN SKERRY National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry has spent more than 10,000 hours under water, often in extreme conditions beneath Arctic ice and in predator-infested waters. Journey with him from the North Atlantic, where harp seals face the threat of declining sea ice, to the balmy waters of Australia, home of the fastest shark in the world — the mako. The stunning images he captures while on assignment offer a mesmerizing glimpse of the “soul of the sea.”

DANCE DIAVOLO | ARCHITECTURE IN MOTION ® DIAVOLO | Architecture in Motion® – a finalist on season 12 of NBC’s hit series America’s Got Talent – uses dance to explore the relationship between the human body and its architectural environment. Led by Artistic Director Jacques Heim, DIAVOLO’s diverse team of dancers, designers, choreographers, and engineers combines custom architectural structures and intense physical choreography to create visceral and awe-inspiring works that reveal how we are affected by the spaces we inhabit. Inlet Dance Theatre’s What Do You Do With An Idea? is a dance theater adaptation of The New York Times best-selling children’s book by Kobi Yomada. The production is the story of one brilliant idea and the child who helps to bring it into the world. It is a story for anyone, at any age, who’s ever had an idea that seemed a little too big, too odd, or too difficult. THEATER MACBETH The Warehouse Theatre returns to present a masterful performance of William Shakespeare’s epic play Macbeth. Set in the deep South of the United States, this production allows students to experience the struggles and ambitions of these iconic characters in a contemporary setting. The brave Scottish general Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will be the King of Scotland. Devoured by his ambition for power, he murders King Duncan and takes the throne. Overtaken by guilt and paranoia, Macbeth loses sight of what makes life worth living. Macbeth is directed by Libby Hawkins, performed by an ensemble of six actors, and supported by BMW Group Plant Spartanburg.
