A Word from Your Lieutenant Governor Hello Key Clubbers! I hope you all are enjoying summer and the warm weather accompanying it. I will be spending the majority of the summer vacation in Bend, OR and will be unable to hold Divisional Council Meetings or Divisional Events until September. However, I still wish to be in contact with all of your clubs! It is my understanding that many clubs are not anticipating any summer activities or service projects. Even so, it is still a requirement to fill out monthly club reports. Also, there have been many drastic changes in the planning of Rally in the Valley, which the majority of this issue will be focusing on. Please pay close attention and read through it thoroughly if you are interested or plan to attend. In love and service, Pearl Cutting

Important Rally in the Valley Information There will be many changes to Rally in the Valley 2015 and the event will greatly differ from its past form. These changes are necessary to decrease liabilities and optimize the accessibility of the event. This decision was made on the district level and was ultimately out of the control of the Lieutenant Governors planning the event. Please direct questions or concerns about this aspect of these changes to District Administrator Brian Egger at brian.j.egger@gmail.com. The dates of Rally in the Valley are no longer August 8th and 9th at Camp Wilani. Each division which has assisted in planning the event will plan and hold their own rally instead of a combined one. This means the rally that the Key Clubbers in Division 74 will attend the Division 74 Rally, rather than an event combined with other divisions. The Division 74 Rally will take the place of the September Divisional Council Meeting. The event will still have a major emphasis on officer training and all officers are strongly encouraged to attend in order to receive crucial training as well as grow their skills in teamwork and leadership. Since these changes were made without prior notice, the planning of the Division 74 Rally is still in the beginning stage of being planned. Please contact your Lieutenant Governor, Pearl Cutting, at pearl.cutting@gmail.com for questions or concerns regarding this aspect of the changes.

Officer Information Presidents and VPs Stay in contact with your club and the officers. The summer is a crucial time for making a “game plan for the upcoming school year. This includes planning the way the club meetings are designed and run, the delegation of responsibilities and tasks, and recruitment. It is advised to have at least two officer meetings in the summer to plan and be prepared for the next year. Secretaries Keep track of the activities your club is participating in. Remember, even if your club is taking a break over the summer, it is still required to submit a secretary report! Record the information, ideas, and goals shared at officer meetings in order to make sure your club stays on track in the upcoming year. Treasurers Make a note of the monetary needs of your club. Think about how much money will be needed for the upcoming year and its events. Plan a method to stay organized and keep track of money that has been fundraised. Also, make sure to familiarize yourself with how to pay dues to ensure your club will be caught up in the next year! Please contact Pearl Cutting if you need assistance with this.
