Edexcel GCE Certificates October 2012 Dear Examinations Officer We know at this time of year you will be receiving your candidates' GCE certificates from the summer 2012 examinations. You will notice that unlike in previous years, certificates now bear the Ofqual logo. This is a requirement from Ofqual, the regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessment in England. It means that, unlike many other Awarding Organisations, students will have the additional benefit of a very visible endorsement from Ofqual. It does mean that subject grades are now listed on two certificates; one with subjects fully accredited by Ofqual and Edexcel and the other with subjects which contain 1 or 2 units where assessment requirements have been slightly modified to meet the requirements of international centres. We would like to re-assure you that higher education institutions, including universities, will continue to accept these certificates as they always have. This is because, as you know, Edexcel is an accredited Awarding Organisation and therefore our qualifications are accepted all over the world.
