Summery: The artist-author, over the years, had drawn scores of these ciphered, highly personal and contrasting images, as a visual catharsis for the “itches” he couldn't scratch. These itches were also capricious or calculated mental flashes, on issues ranging from American politics to Assyrian monuments being destroyed, or from Stendhal, to skateboarding and sex. But, For the most part, the images are a celebration of womanhood: their indispensable sexuality, awesome intuition and adaptive prowess. Images were deliberately drawn on black paper with silver ink, as a state of his mind, which saw issues only as black and white: truths or lies... hence, they are stark, yet, coded in high contrast, and provocative. Peddada's drawings were intensely private, it was only after a greeting (drawing) he sent me that I came to know about these astonishing, stark and powerful drawings -- scores of them he had drawn over the years.
