A rug can bring energy and cohesion to an interior. And,
occasionally, a beautiful rug is all that is necessary. It’s too bad we
have to walk on a work of art -- or perhaps, this is the ultimate luxury. -- Raju Peddada, Founder & Designer

Peddada rescues us from the conventional and monotonous neutrals of the rug world ‐‐ with his vision of bold, unique and exotic aesthetic informalism. Peddada rugs are islands of distinction in a sea of neutrals, and design platitude. Our rugs are created with a rich historical context, drawing the past to the present. They reveal ancient skills, which had been passed from generation to generation. Our is a passionate collaboration with talented and dedicated weavers that result in contemporary treasures of beauty and function. Our designs transcend the mundane conventionalism, with energetic and interactive shapes and strong lines that allure and excite the senses ‐‐ more in line with contemporary architectural language ‐‐ reflecting both, the intellectual and emotional aspects in us. Our colors express the vibrancy of our internal, as well as our external experiences within the complex mysteries of nature. Color that not only evoke the past, but speak to the present ‐‐ they push the palate of our imagination. Finest materials, skills, methods, and custom colors discerned by the designer are the ingredients of our rugs. Peddada defines luxury with thickness ‐‐ Rugs are knotted and or tufted with the highest cut piles of silks and wools to last indefinitely and grow in character with age. This also makes our weight‐to‐value ratio exceptional, resulting in a dense, soft and sensual feel that is distinctly Peddada ‐‐ rugs that are islands of comfort and luxury, and rewarding investments in originality. © Copyright 2014

Materials: Peddada rugs are handcrafted with the finest wools, silks and exotic fibers available. Wools from Nepal, Tibet and New Zealand and silks from China and India are used to knot and tuft the exquisite Peddada designs. Interior Designers and Architects have extensive options in selecting the materials for their specific projects. Custom specific wool and silk combinations for rugs are available in the following ways only in hand knot process. • 100% Wool from New Zealand or Tibet or Nepal or India. • 100% Chinese or Indian silk. • 50% Wool and 50% Silk • 70% Wool and 30% Silk • 70% Silk and 30% Wool Peddada colors bring nature back into designed spaces. The designer’s selection of Serene and mature colors from nature’s palate were extremely hard to recreate, therefore, Swiss dyes and natural herbal/vegetable dyes are creatively combined by our dying masters to create this unique color spectrum. Many colors had to be created from scratch.
Processes: Peddada rugs are made with the thickest piles of wool and silk surpassing industry standards. Keeping wear factors and character in focus, Peddada rugs are created with 5/8” wool/silk pile heights depending on the design. Varying pile heights are cut or carved based on design specifics. What is normal wool/silk pile height for Peddada is extraordinary for the industry. All Peddada rugs are hand-tufted or hand-knotted to the highest standards depending on the materials used. Interior Designers and Architects have the option of going to broadloom process for speedy deliveries for large custom specific institutional projects. Project specifics will usually dictate what manufacturing process is conducive to meet delivery timelines. Whatever the process, Peddada guarantees quality, design integrity, delivery and service to meet the most demanding scenarios.

Color impinges on our every waking moment.
It penetrates our dreams. Color is light, color is pigment, color is sensation, and color is information. Color is a power that is independent of form and directly influences the soul. Replicating nature's colors for Peddada rugs was a passionate endeavor for our skillful colordying masters. Their remarkable combination of Swiss and vegetable dyes give richness to Raju Peddada's singular and exacting design vision.

Rugmark Assurance All Peddada carpets are RUGMARK certified. By agreeing to adhere to RUGMARK’s strict no child labor guidelines, and by permitting random inspections of carpet looms, Peddada receives the right to put the RUGMARK label on their carpets. The label provides the best possible assurance that children were not employed in the making of a rug. It also verifies that a portion of the carpet price is contributed to the rehabilitation and education of former child weavers.
