Our Fourth of July Celebration is one of Fairfield's most popular community-based events

If we think about it, living in Fairfield over the last year, we have had many opportunities to participate in community gatherings. Of course, our most significant events include sports competitions, the farmers' market, community garage sales, the Women's Club's Christmas parade and Christmas bazaar, and our annual Fairfield 4th of July celebration. But if we were taking a poll, no doubt hands down, the community would agree that the biggest draw is our Independence Day celebration. This year, over 6o participants, including multiple fire trucks, cars and trucks pulling trailers with boy scouts, girl scouts, dance teams, families, individual cars and trucks, golf carts, dirt bikes, and two gypsy vanner horses delighted onlookers. Eightysix-year-old, 25-year Fairfield resident, army veteran, Texas A&M graduate, and engineer, Mr. Lloyd Billingsly served as Grand Marshal. Thank you, Fairfield Women's Club, for orchestrating that fantastic community-based summertime event. It was the perfect way to connect with friends, family, and neighbors while making memories and having fun. And it also proved that patriotism is alive and well in Fairfield!
