Welcome to the Lund’s B Bar Angus annual production sale! We are honored by the fact that you choose us to supply your breeding bulls. Our “Seek the Balance” approach remains our base commitment to our cattle and the bulls we produce. We also seek balance of nature to our cattle. Nature itself is an excellent culling tool, droughts, blizzards, grasshoppers, flies, these all dictate the amount of feed our operation will produce whether that be grass, hay, or grain. We learned a long time ago that in this area you always plan on next year being a drought.

We greatly appreciate our loyal customer base. It truly is you that has allowed us to remain in business! We really can’t think of any other profession we would rather be doing. The people we have met over the years have just been amazing. The genetic changes we have seen have been remarkable. We used to use some semen from bulls that were around 30 years ago, but boy, the length of side and muscle has sure improved. The feed conversion and carcass have leaped also.

All bulls are born and raised here on the B Bar. Weaning weights were taken on the 4th of October, the day before Ethel’s 90th birthday. They were again bucket fed our oats and corn ration which is 2/3 oats and 1/3 corn. As of February 1st, they are at 8 lbs. of grain. The free choice hay is quite a variety of anything and everything we have here. They have probably not had the same for more than two weeks at a time which stems back to hay production on drought years!

The bulls can be viewed at the ranch anytime. They may also be viewed on our website or DVAuction. Please note that we do not put straw down for the videos because we want you to see the feet and toes of our cattle. The sale will again be broadcast on DVAuction. Bulls will be hauled to town the morning of the sale. Yearling weights and scrotal measurements will be posted on our website when they become available.

Sale Terms and Conditions: Cattle sell under the sale terms and conditions as suggested by the American Angus Association effective 6/04/20.

Rights and Obligations: Neither the Lund’s, Bull Palace, Inc., nor any other person connected with the management of the sale, assumes any liability, legal or otherwise.

Inspection of Cattle: Cattle can be viewed at the ranch any time before March 21, 2025.

Directions to Ranch: Hwy 7 going north of Baker, MT, 19 miles, turn east at Carlyle Road sign, travel 3 miles to inspect cows, 5 miles to inspect bulls.

Retained Semen Interest: The Lund’s are retaining a 1/3 semen interest in all bulls sold. A salvage value and possession belong to the purchaser.

Health and Vaccinations: Bulls have had a breeding soundness evaluation, including semen test, prior to the sale. They have received the following vaccinations:

Performance Data: American Angus now updates EPDs weekly. The EPDs and percentile ranking in this catalog are as of February 1, 2025. Weekly updates can be viewed at www.angus.org.

Guarantee: Bulls are guaranteed to be sound and healthy breeders, with a first breeding season guarantee. Breeding season is defined as the first 90-days following first turn out. All bulls selling for $3,500 or more will be given 50% of the value of the injured bull IN A FUTURE SALE OR TOWARDS A REPLACEMENT BULL, IF ONE IS AVAILABLE. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a veterinarian. Please notify us as soon as possible should an injury occur and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage. All claims must be made by September 1, 2024.

Delivery: Bulls will be fed at the ranch until time when we can deliver them in April. Delivery is free to adjoining states of Montana.

This bull was so different from our program we had to keep him back and try him. Super impressive bone, good muscle, long bodied. If you want to put some bone back in your cattle after the spread bull era, these sons will do it! This will be his last calf crop as we lost him to a back injury the breeding season of 2023.

This bull has done an excellent job for us. He provides more muscle than his sire and has a very quiet demeanor. Udder structure is solid. He is an old pedigree by today’s standards, so his weaning and yearling EPDs are low. This year he turned ten years old on February 9th and he is gaining traction across the USA. We still feel he is the perfect bull for our environment.

We really liked this Coalition son the year he sold. We decided to use him hard after using him lightly two years ago. Really like the muscle expression his calves display, docility is wonderful. It’s early to say, but his foot structure looks above breed average at this point. Will likely hold a son back to use to carry this lineage on. The Juneau mother was the type of cow that fits this region’s needs. She was a big part of why we chose to breed to him. So many Coalition cattle lack the depth of rib needed here, and we feel this mother is where his depth of rib came from.

Phenotypically we love this bull. Retained from the sale in 2023 to move forward with a Resilient son that had added docility and muscle. His mother is a beautiful Black Mass daughter. Growth curve on these bulls appears to be slower which is how the sire himself was. You probably won’t walk in the pen and be ‘wowed’ by these sons, but two or three years from sale day you will be saying that they were an excellent purchase.

here comes the bull with the power in the pants! If you want a butt on your bulls, look this sire group up. If we could change the sons, we would clean up and extend the front ends. Very strong set of calves for his first calf crop. Excited to get daughters into production and see where this bull goes.

This bull was brought back into our program because of the great feet he has and the fact that his mother at 13 years of age is still on the ranch and will calve again in 2025. This bull carries the frame and length that we like to see along with having a long extension in the neck area. His mother is a larger framed cow for our operation, but she has been an excellent mother cow. Her bag has stayed excellent as well as her feet. Please note as you view the catalog that there are some of these sons that are double-bred Resource 4114.
