If you like great fresh fish and shellfish, to eat and to cook - you’re in for a treat! Tuck into the freshest local produce at the county's restaurants and pubs, from local lobster to fresh crab salads and seafood extravaganzas, taster menus to seafood tapas, a foraged picnic or good old beer-battered fish with hand-cut Pembrokeshire chips. There is plenty to choose from for a seaside lunch to a sophisticated evening. There are also lots of opportunities for keen cooks to learn how to get the best out of their fish and shellfish in a variety of demonstrations and master classes with top chefs such as, Bryn Williams, Alyn Williams, Anthony Evans, Ravinder Bhogal and Anand George as well as fish experts Duncan and Sue Lucas from Passionate about Fish. From a relaxing evening trip on the Cleddau to adrenalin assured out door adventure there are plenty of ways for you to experience Pembrokeshire’s breathtaking coastline. Try eco fishing adventures in a kayak, coasteering, a taster session in sailing at Saundersfoot’s Festival of The Sea, or catch your supper on a mackerel fishing trip. If you’re bringing the family, or looking for some fishy frolics, no squidding Fish Week is Skate! There’s so much fun in store! Explore crystal clear rock pools and find out what lives on our beaches in seashore safaris. Learn how to surf and fish, take part in seaside sports, make some wonderful creations in beach-inspired art and craft workshops, or even join a dance class at the D12 dance festival. The festival is a fishing paradise for all levels – from the experienced angler to the beginner and to ‘just have a go’. Keen anglers can enjoy some excellent fishing and take part in sea angling and coarse fishing championships, whilst families and beginners have plenty of choice for fishing coaching at local fisheries throughout the county. The week casts off with a food lovers and family day at Milford Haven Dockside on Saturday June 23rd, were you can enjoy a carnival atmosphere, with music, entertainment and activities for all ages, alongside demonstrations, seafood to buy, taste and enjoy, exhibitions and stalls, and you certainly don’t need to like fish to enjoy the fun! Named Number 1 in the top 10 food festivals in the UK by Visit Britain, the festival is a previous winner of True Taste Food Tourism Destination and Pembrokeshire Tourisms premier event in 2009/10, it hosts over 200 family friendly events and activities around the counties coast and inland waterways.

Pembrokeshire Fish Week Window Dressing Competition 2012 For a number of years the Chamber has organised a successful Window Dressing Competition during Pembrokeshire Fish Week which is open to all local businesses. Last year there were 25 entries, the winner being Amaryllis, West Street, Fishguard.

Many local restaurants, cafes and pubs support the Festival with special menus featuring fresh fish and shellfish. Other events include the Stena Line sea angling festival, coastering and foraging sessions, guided beach walks and learn-to-fish days. Spend a day in Fishguard and Goodwick viewing the competition entries, taking part in the events and enjoying a special meal. 52

Fishguard Window Dressing D3 Competition This successful window dressing competition, organised by Fishguard & Goodwick Chamber of Trade & Tourism, has taken place for the last few years as part of Fish Week, and last year received 25 entries with the winner named as Amaryllis. Spend a day in Fishguard and Goodwick viewing the competition entries, take part in various events and enjoy a special meal during the festival.

Kayak Fishing with Kayak King Kayak fishing trip, a chance to enjoy and explore the Pembrokeshire National Park in the most fun way. Try your hand at catching your own fish from the silence of a kayak. All fish caught can be taken away and eaten! If you’re not a fan of fishing we also pick up lobster pots.
