EDWARD HENRY STREET, RHYL

A development of 13, 3 bedroom affordable homes, being built by NWPS Construction on behalf of ClwydAlyn and in partnership with Denbighshire County Council and the Welsh Government. The new homes are part of the Targeted Regeneration Investment Programme (TRIP) Scheme for the redevelopment of the West End of Rhyl.

Five of the new homes fall into the conservation area which will see the reconstruction of the facades to look the same as the existing properties in order to preserve the area’s rich heritage. The expected completion date is Spring 2024.

PROGRESS UPDATE AND LOOKING AHEAD

Work on site is progressing well, with the brickwork for plots 11 to 17 nearly complete and with the solar panels and roof slates for each property completed also.

Plots 3 to 9b have their foundations and floors in place, and scaffolding has been erected for the whole block ready for the timber frames, in work that is expected to take 4 to 5 weeks to complete. After this you will see the foundations for plots 19 to 25 being put in.

NWPS Construction has also recently taken on an apprentice Joiner to train up and work on site, in partnership with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, and there will be more exciting opportunities for apprenticeships in the coming year.

• Digital Inclusion (increase)

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

MAJOR REGENERATION PROJECT BEGINS WITH GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY

The start of the project was officially marked by a ground breaking ceremony in October attended by the Mayor of Rhyl Town Council, Cllr Diane King. As the Rhyl regeneration work continues, Cllr Rhys Thomas, Lead Member for Housing and Communities said the Council was proud to support the project that will bring much needed carbon friendly, energy efficient homes to families in times of rising fuel costs.

An important part of ClwydAlyn’s commitment to building high quality affordable homes is to ensure that all partners involved, commit back to the local communities in which we work in a wide range of ways and in line with our poverty priorities. In turn, helping to enrich our communities by giving support where it’s needed, whether that’s helping people to get back into work, combating social isolation, supporting residents in fuel poverty, or providing access to nutritious food.

Do you know of any community groups, school, charity or not for profit organisation in the area that needs support? If so, we’d love to hear about them, please email: jim.twist@nwpsconstruction.com
