NEUADD MALDWYN, INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR OLDER PEOPLE SUMMER 2023
A development of 66, one and two bedroom high quality apartments, for individuals aged 60 years and over, with an assessed care or support need. Neuadd Maldwyn is being built by Anwyl Partnerships on behalf of ClwydAlyn and in partnership with Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board and Welsh Government. The proposed completion is Spring 2024.
PROGRESS UPDATE AND LOOKING AHEAD
Good progress continues to be made on site, with the brickwork and roofing complete in some apartment blocks. To the existing former council office, the developers have been busy repairing the slate roof and replacing the lead valleys and flat roof. Inside the old building, the structural alternations have been completed, external walls insulated, installed partitions and new services run to create new individual apartments.
In the next few months, the brickwork on the final apartment phase will be complete, and we will install the remaining section of the roof. Internally, work will continue on fitting out the building with partition walls and services to individual apartments. See how the development is progressing in our latest drone footage:

VISIT TO SITE!
It was great to show Cllr Graham Breeze, Cllr Carol Robinson, Cllr Julie Arnold and Elaine Hiatt and Ros Murphy from Powys County Council and Heather Wenban from Powys Teaching Health Board around the development site in February. County Councillor Graham Breeze called it a “fantastic scheme”, while Town Councillor Julie Arnold said it was “just what Welshpool needs”
