LAND ADJACENT TO LON LWYD PENTRAETH, ANGLESEY
A development of 23 new energy efficient, affordable homes (13 of the houses will be managed by ClwydAlyn and 10 of the houses will be managed by Anglesey County Council), being built by Williams Homes on behalf of ClwydAlyn and in partnership with Anglesey County Council and the Welsh Government.
PROGRESS UPDATE AND LOOKING AHEAD
Work on site is progressing well and the development will be completed in phases. Phase 1 will be complete in Spring, which will include 14 homes. Soon we’ll see residents / families move in. We can’t wait to give everyone their keys! The proposed completion for the development is Summer 2023.
ENERGY EFFICIENT HOMES
ClwydAlyn’s aim is to tackle fuel poverty and help minimise the impact less energy efficient homes can have on people’s health and wellbeing. Built using greener technologies and innovative designs, these new homes are super energy efficient and benefit from:
• Air source heat pumps
• Solar electricity panels
• Solar electricity storage batteries
• Homes positioned to maximise solar gain and natural daylight
• Electric car charging facilities
• ‘Modern Methods of Construction’, using as many natural and sustainable materials as possible
• Sourcing materials from local manufacturers and suppliers, keeping carbon footprint low These homes can make a big difference. They’ll help residents support the environment; save previous energy and they could save money in the long run too.

LIFETIME HOMES
All homes are built as lifetime homes and designed so that they are easily adaptable to the changing needs of the residents, helping them to live independently for longer.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Men at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham have been producing timber framed panels for our developments at Glasdir (Ruthin), Hen Ysgol y Bont, Pentraeth and Valley Mill / Mart in Anglesey, playing a key role in the success of the schemes. A factory unit was set up in the prison, and now 25 men have had a chance to gain practical skills and qualifications to equip them to gain employment on release.
THE NAMING OF THE PENTRAETH DEVELOPMENT!
The new street name confirmed by Anglesey County Council for the development is: LLYS LLWYDIARTH. A big thank you to year 5 and 6 pupils from Ysgol Pentraeth for helping us name the street.
MANAGEMENT OF THE SITE AND HOURS OF OPERATION
There is a Site Manager Team on site at all times, who are trained to safely manage all operations and subcontractor activity. Typical hours of operation are Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm and Saturday’s 8am to 1pm. If at any time any specialist work needs to be carried out outside of these hours, we will contact you. We will continue to communicate regularly by newsletter as the development progresses.
