THE PENN ESTHETICS SYMPOSIUM 2015 60th Anniversary of the Department of Periodontics
Penn Dental Medicine is pleased to present The Penn Esthetics Symposium on June 11-13, 2015. The mission of The Penn Esthetics Symposium is to promote research and collaboration to advance new techniques and technologies in dental medicine. To this end, a preeminent group of clinicians and researchers are assembled to cover a full range of topics within osteology, esthetics, implants, periodontics, and prosthodontics. With esthetics and the related fields of implantology, tissue regeneration, and biological materials ever evolving components of dental care, the program will offer a unique perspective on the scientific basis and clinical decision making necessary for optimal outcomes. The symposium will also celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the School’s Department of Periodontics and feature the inaugural Morton Amsterdam Lecture. The day will pay tribute to an exceptional innovator, educator, and clinician who helped to establish a legacy of leadership for Penn periodontics and periodontal prosthesis. Speakers will be representative of the clinical and academic excellence of Dr. Amsterdam’s career at Penn Dental Medicine. We hope to see you in Philadelphia. Joseph P. Please make plans to join Penn Dental Medicine’s Department of Periodontics to celebrate the life of Dr. Morton Amsterdam. Dr. Morton Amsterdam, recognized by many as “the father of periodontal prosthesis,” had a far-reaching impact on the fields of periodontics and advanced restorative dentistry and on the many students he taught throughout his professional career. Few individuals have so profoundly influenced the science and practice of dental medicine. Dr. Amsterdam was an exceptional innovator, educator, and clinician who helped to establish a legacy of leadership for Penn periodontics and periodontal prosthesis and directly mentored many of today’s leaders in the field. He will be fondly remembered as an example of excellence in clinical dentistry.
