Risk Factors & Treatments
Risk factors of people who develop oral cancer include:
- Tobacco and alcohol use.
- Poor diet and/or excess body weight.
- Poor oral hygiene
- A human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
- Older age (55 and over).
- A family history of oral cancer.
Treatments include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
