Other competitions featuring food will make you laugh out loud. Let loose and enjoy Rossland’s incomparable mountain culture and join in for this last hurrah of summer.
Admission is $5, free under 12 www.hillsgarlicfest.ca Celebrating 25 years – Music, family stuff, 160 vendors, food, produce, crafts, and of course … GARLIC! Only service dogs permitted at the Centennial Park, New Denver. Come with friends and travel together. Car-pooling is encouraged and there is an incentive: free festival passes! The first 3 adults in the vehicle will pay and the rest get in free. So if you’ve got an 8 passenger van, fill it up! The more people who travel together, the smaller the festival “footprint” will be. The sheer size of this fair is almost overwhelming. Just start with the coffee vendor and weave around each section. A favourite destination is the crêpe stand and don’t miss the gelato. Yum! In addition to the food vendor area, there is a farmers’ market with local produce, locally made crafts and other cottage products. The Hills Garlic Festival is the perfect way to get away from your daily routine and enjoy a September blue sky day with your family and friends.
Free admission. Harrop Hall, 6066 McConnell Rd This annual event has over 30 vendors, great food from the Harrop Hall volunteers, music, and children’s events (parade and Imagination Station hosted by the Kootenay Lake Family Network).
