HILLS GARLIC FEST

ARGENTA FALL FAIR

Sunday, Sept 9 10am-5pm

Saturday, Sept 22 10am - 2am

Admission is $5, free under 12! Centennial Park, New Denver

www.hillsgarlicfest.ca Music, family stuff, 160 vendors, food, produce, crafts, and of course … GARLIC!!!! Only service dogs permitted. Come with friends and travel together. We are encouraging car-pooling and offering an incentive: free festival passes. The first 3 adults in the vehicle will pay and the rest get in free. So if you’ve got an 8 passenger van, fill it up! The more people who travel together, the smaller our festival “footprint” will be. The sheer size of this fair is almost overwhelming. Just start with the coffee vendor and weave around each section. One of our favourite destinations is the crêpe stand and we always stop for the gelato. Yum! In addition to the food vendor area, there is a farmers’ market with lovely local produce, locally made crafts and other cottage products. The Hills Garlic Festival is the perfect way to get away from your daily routine and enjoy a September blue sky day with your family and friends.

HARROP HARVEST FESTIVAL Sunday, Sept 16 10am - 4pm

Free admission Harrop Hall, 6066 McConnell Road This annual event offers vendors, great food, music, and children’s events. It delivers a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere that encourages you to browse at leisure. Stay for lunch and listen to local musicians performing throughout the afternoon. There are also prizes to be won through various draws, so plan to come for the day and enjoy the great ambience and lots of local produce and crafts.

Argenta Hall, Argenta BC The Argenta fair is small, but more than worth the beautiful drive north along the shore of Kootenay Lake. This up-the-lake escape takes you to a heart warming place with lovely people and offers a large prepared meal of locally grown and raised food provided from the neighbouring farms. Many talented local musicians play all day, while the communitie’s artisans will surprise you with unique gift and practical creations. View the live sculpture during the day, and dance to celebrate the harvest in the evening. Family friendly, no dogs or alcohol please. Camping available with request.
