Pentik has been a part of homes for over 50 years, founded in 1971 by the artist Anu Pentik. Our story began when Anu moved to Posio in Finnish Lapland for work. Captivated by the breathtaking nature, ever changing seasons, and genuine people, she made it her home. Pentik was born - own, genuine and beautiful.
Nature feeds us and sets the rhythm of life. Night, day, summer, winter. Whether our home is in Helsinki, Lapland, or Tokio, nature is part of us. And we are part of nature. Few of us have the time or chance to climb to the top of a fell, sit quietly in the forest, to sleep among the field flowers, or see the cliffs shaped by the sea. Because nature gives us so much more than just nourishment.
It feeds us.
Our designers’ main mission is to bring nature to people and into their homes. Through shapes, colours, patterns, and materials. Pentik products are all born from a relationship with nature.
The first Kaamoskivi’s were born in the early 1970s, when Anu Pentik moved to Posio in Lapland. She wanted to create an object that captured the raw natural power of her new home. This is how the success story of Pentik began.
Pentik is a Finnish family company situated close to the Arctic Circle. We run the northernmost ceramics factory of the world in Posio in the Finnish Lapland.
- SUMMER 2025
Our Spring/Summer 2025 collection introduces a fresh perspective on the world around us. We pause to take in the surrounding beauty, to stop taking things for granted, and to challenge ourselves to see with new eyes, so that we realise the beauty around us. The flowers of our collection bloom like their creators – spreading joy, light, and hope everywhere.
At this time of year, the first flowers sprout from the soil, while others wait for their turn. Nature’s art pieces are the outcome of a complex process, and that brilliance lasts but a moment. We believe nature is teaching us the art of pausing. Our collection was born out of passion for flowers. We want our flower fields to extend into the world – to fill every home, event space, and guest room! We’ve sown the seeds, and now, it’s your turn to let them flourish.
- with flowers or without!

PENTIK STUDIO I ANU PENTIK
There’s no two of the same.
Even after 50 years, Anu is the first to sneak into the ceramics factory, turn on the lights and rush to see how the previous day’s work turned out. Not because she has to, but out of passion and fire. A way of life.
Minna Niskakangas painted the Helmililja pattern using the traditional tempera technique, in which egg is used as a binding substance for the colours. This painting technique, familiar from icon painting, is characterised by a subtle translucency that creates extremely beautiful, delicate details.
After the spring floods, mirror-clear but freezing cold water runs and swirls almost silently in the streams of the northern rivers. The smooth, calmly flowing water is something you can’t help but be mesmerised by for a long time. The soft but angular shapes of the Vuolle tumbler designed by Lasse Kovanen, also catch the eye.
The Tuntu (Feel) ceramics collection is full of northern feeling. A feeling conveyed by the people who made the products. A feeling that we are part of nature and a feeling that we want to pass on from generation to generation. Tuntu is a practical, stackable tableware set designed by Tuuli Saarelainen and made in Finland at the world’s northernmost ceramics factory in Posio.
The colorful glazing colors of the Tuntu dishes are the result of several years of design, experimentation and development at our ceramics factory in Posio. The rich, varied colors and interesting casts of the Tuntu products are achieved by glazing the products twice. This means that manufacturing the Tuntu tableware requires a great deal of handicraft and therefore each Tuntu dish is unique.
LAPIN KUKKA
In Lapland, everything blooms quickly. But even more beautifully. The round-the-clock sunshine makes not only the flowers but also the people take full joy in the most beautiful time of the year.
The energy brought by the spring greenery sparks a burst of creativity in many of us, which is unleashed in the home and garden. We make room for the new, we dream and get excited. Freesia, designed by Lasse Kovanen, feels like that restlessly exciting spring feeling.
Untamed, but gentle. That’s the river’s essence. You’ll be mesmerised for a long time by the wildly flowing water. In the Koski tumbler designed by Minna Niskakangas, the flicker of light and water also catches the eye. The simple, easy-to-hold shape of the tumbler is enlivened by a surface pattern that Minna originally created by carving into plywood.
The dark glaze and delicate patterning of the Anu Pentik-designed Kivi (Stone) series is hand-painted on each vessel. This is what makes each Kivi unique. Just like in the nature. Made in Posio, the northernmost ceramics factory in the world.
LOHKARE
Stones and rocks moulded by the sea capture your gaze and enchant you with their irregular geometric shapes. Lohkare is a sculptural vase designed by Lasse Kovanen. The idea for the vase sparked as the designer gazed at the lakeside cliffs and stones on his long canoeing trips.
The pink Lohkare glass vase was voted Finland’s most beautiful vase in 2024!
Flora, more flora, a spring filled with flora!
The combination of light and colour creates a sense of elevation above the everyday. The Heijastuksia (Reflections) vases that are like windows into a life lived.
Kuulea glass vase with its narrow shape is nice to look on its own but is at its best with a tall flower or a decorative branch. Kuulea series has a distinctive surface pattern that was inspired by raindrops falling on the window. Designed by Tuuli Saarelainen.
It’s extremely rare to spot a lynx in Finnish nature. But it might well be that a lynx has spotted you. At home, this shy and quiet creature of the forest can really go wild. Designed by Lasse Kovanen.
The blooming magic of Midsummer night.
Children view the world through a unique lens, and their creativity comes from within. That creativity isn’t clouded by beliefs, prejudice, or comparison. Let’s create with courage, intuition, and boundless confidence. Naturally. This results in something so unique it cannot be described with words alone. Unique, authentic, and beautiful in all tones and shades imaginable. Designer Minna Niskakangas sought to describe the world through the eyes of a child in the new Fairy Forest pattern. What would the world look like if we placed no limits on it? It would be a world where anything is possible.
