In December we opened our very own pop-up shop in Odense, our hometown. It was a great success and we all took turns working thereâ&#x20AC;Ś We loved every minute of it! It was a lot of fun and great to get to know a lot of rice lovers... It is a joy to be part of coloring the world happier.

just be awesome I actually wanted to use the F*** word in this collection title as well, but decided to behave. As some of you know - I like to work with words or a sentence and wrap each collection around it. Just be awesome. It is a note to oneself and a shout out to all of you. Let’s just be awesome... Do awesome stuff... Live awesome lives! When we started working on this collection we went for a 3 days inspirational tour to a very small island in Denmark. I am a firm believer in the fact that you can have fun anywhere and be inspired everywhere. We had a Danish TV crew following us the first day on the island. They made a really nice TV show about Rice and how to start from nothing in a small garage in a summerhouse to becoming who we are today. I have a strong feeling of pride and woohoo. This collection is really AWESOME!!! The patterns, the colors and all the thoughts and care that has gone into each and every item. I feel proud – and bubbly – and hope you will feel the same once you take a closer look. Enjoy and just BE AWESOME!

Corporate Social Responsibility is a vital part of the RICE DNA. It is important to us, that you can color yourself happy with a clear conscience. Over the years Rice has engaged in several projects formed from the belief that “No one can help everyone – but everyone can help someone”. Spoon full of hope Rice launched the gift idea, “Spoon Full of Hope” in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council. Each spoon sold donated a cooking set to a family on the run in Darfur and Somalia. We sold 7200 spoons. Cups full of hope 4 melamine drinking cups, specially designed by RICE for this project. Every time a pack of these cups was sold, a refugee family in Africa received a Water and Washing Kit. This included a large jerry can for water, a bar of soap

and a big water bucket for bathing and laundry. We sold 7200 packs. Danish Red Cross Project As a Club 10 ambassador in 2009 Charlotte and Rice made an all-day event with über-banko, book cafe, hairdressing, palm reading, massage, concerts and delicious food stalls etc. The purpose was to raise as much money as possible for Danish Red Cross. It was with great pleasure that we were able to present Danish Red Cross with a check for DKK 265.000,Send me to school In 2008 the cyclone Nargis hit the south west part of Myanmar – leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. By making a range of kids products we raised enough money to build a school so kids could get back in the classrooms – improving their future changes of education. The school also functions as a shelter for the entire community in case of natural disasters. The product line raised DKK 300,000,-

Spoon full of hope II We redesigned the Spoon full of Hope and this time the sale of one spoon equaled 24 servings of soup. We sold 3752 spoons. Safe childhood in Vietnam Every child has the right to play... We have helped sponsor an educational program that teaches children how to tackle and avoid explosives still remaining in the ground after the Vietnam War. The project is run by The Danish Refugee Council. Giving children in Vietnam a safe childhood is our way of celebrating the 25th. Anniversary of Convention on the Rights of the Child in 2014. We donate DKK 300,000,Susbiz India During 2007 – 2009 RICE participated in the Susbiz project along with one of our suppliers in New Delhi, India. The goal of the project was to develop and implement social and environmental initiatives in the supplier’s company, and share knowledge about the process. The project was managed by the DSFME – the Danish Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Companies, and supported by Danida and the Danish Commerce and companies’ agency. Lakshya Our cooperation with our supplier Lakshya, started out as a three years development project for street children. The goal was to build a production that can support an orphanage for street children.

During the project RICE donated a monthly amount of financial support and placed orders regularly. The establishment of Lakshya secures an education for the New Delhi street children, as well as housing and the opportunity to remain in Lakshya as employees.

Jheel – Jaipur RICE entered a three year project, in cooperation with Danida, to improve conditions for the workers in the factory. Now the conditions comply with SA8000 standards. Environmental responsibility has also been of concern to the supplier and they have constructed a wastewater cleaning system reducing the environmental impact. Kom godt i DOK The Project ’Kom godt i DOK’ aimed to help young people under 30 years finding employment or to start an education to improve their qualifications. Furthermore the projects clear goal was to develop cooperation between businesses at Odense Harbour, with a strong social engagement – aiming to increase the integration-related and social potential of the harbor area.
