For three days we danced, jumped, listened and walked on burning coal together with 5000 other people from all over the world. It was run by the master of all coaching – Anthony Robbins. Once you have walked on burning coal, you feel you can do anything. But after a while you tend to forget it again...

Let’s have some tea and continue to talk about happy things... Just imagine for a minute, the dynamics if these animals could actually talk. What a fun tea party this would be. I love putting these rather “masculine” hunting trophies into our styling – it gives a nice balance to the feminine colors. It feels just right when we rice them up with party hats and flowers.

A variety of nicely decorated cakes and kisses – all look and flavor too – adds a touch of Everyday Magic to the table.

Table setting is so much fun!

n our world there is no such thing as too much, too crazy or over the top. Table karma... Making an effort in setting a nice table and making your guests feel happy and welcome, are always key to a great atmosphere and to a feeling of togetherness. We all know that food served in beautiful settings, taste that much better… After all – you do eat with your eyes as well.

simple pasta dish and a salad will be a feast for a king when presented in a lovely setting. Animals are great for decorating and bring quite a funky ambience to the dining table. This season we have fallen madly in love with the taxidermy variety. Add a hat and a flower and they’re all ready to party all night long. As usual we prefer to mix and match a lot of different materials – Porcelain figurines, candleholders shaped like deers, kids rabbit LED lamps… Anything goes!

ith these guys at the table it gives reason for a fun party game – take turns on imagining what the fox says... How are these animals related... Who is the crazy wild uncle... Who is the funny eccentric auntie flown in from New York... What would you say if you were Mr. Rabbit or Lady Pheasant.... The later it gets, the more outrageously funny this is likely to be.

ome people spend days preparing beautiful food – that is one way of making friends feel welcome – some spend loads of time cleaning the house... We put a lot of our energy into the tablesetting... And of course also a nice – but perhaps simpler meal. That is how it works best for us...

e went away for a few days to a lovely place on the southern part of the island where we live. It always works very well to get away from the daily chores and just focus on weaving ideas together for the next collection. We sat outside in the most amazing weather and worked on Christmas, hot chocolate and soup idea... And we had a lot of fun. It is vital for me to have fun while I am working... I really do not function well without fun as the base...

hile we were away, working hard - our little family was extended to include one more dog... Luna. Philippe – my husband went sailing to a small island where he fell in love with this little black bundle of joy... and brought her home that very same day. Luckily she has a great personality and I have allowed her to be the only black spot in our house. Rosa – our beautiful 10 year old dog has taken her in and is trying very hard to teach her some good manners. She is even trying to teach Luna some modeling tips... But it is so hard to take good pictures of a black dog......

he patterns of the season and the main color scheme is always a great part of creating a new collection. We keep circling around softer hues and calm patterns - at least - we consider it very calm... At the same time we have worked with our own version of Alice in Wonderland - meets funky animals – meets sweet kisses - meets hot chocolate and a nice warm soup...

Happy Home Outside Two years after writing her first Happy Home book – "Living with color", Charlotte was tempted into writing a new one "Happy Home Outside".

t is clear throughout this book that Charlotte truly enjoys outside living and prefers to spend as much time as possible under the blue sky. As always her relaxed approach to life, is reflected throughout the book – no need to make things complicated when they don't have to be. It is all about living comfortably and doing what makes you happy and most important of all – have fun! This is a mantra that she implements in every aspect of her life – both privately and professionally.

his time the focus is on extending your inside spaces to the outdoors… and doing it the rice way, of course. The book offers lots of great do-able ideas for the garden, DIY step-bystep, tips and tricks on how to make happy camper style easy and enjoyable. How-to guides on garden parties, great recipes… the list is endless. There is plenty of inspiration for creating all kinds of outdoor spaces – from large gardens to small balconies. No place is too small for a bit of spicing up… What is really great about the book is that all things can so easily be transferred from the pages and into real life.

arge parties, small gatherings, playing with kids or lounging all by yourself or with a few friends – the main philosophy is that outdoor living should be relaxed and informal, no matter the occasion. This might come natural for Charlotte but for those of us who likes a bit more control and still haven’t mastered the art of gowith-the-flow, it is just fantastic that the mood in the book appears to transcend from the pages and into every fiber of your body. All of a sudden it seems like the easiest thing in the world to create a stunning garden party for 50 people with just a wave of your magic wand and a completely relaxed and serene state of mind.

s I am writing this, Spring is all around me. It makes me long for a summer of endless sunny days and starry nights... A summer that will make you remember a long string of magical and luxuriously well spend time. A state of feeling full from feasting on life and hopefully a nicely accomplised tan. A feeling that can keep you warm and energized well into the winter... These are the feelings you are left with after reading Charlottes new book.

There is something very grounding, strong and powerful about walking the woods – add a sweet autumn picnic and you follow the HOT everlasting trend of chocolate.

ost people have heard of the term “tree-hugger,” often a nickname given to people who care about the environment and the planet. But did you know that hugging trees can actually improve your health? As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to hug a tree to reap the numerous health benefits, just being around trees and plants in nature is enough.

n a book that was published by author Matthew Silverstone entitled, “Blinded By Science” the evidence confirming the healthful benefits of trees includes the effects they have on various issues like depression, concentration levels and even the ability to alleviate headaches. This practice has been going on since ancient times so this is not just a new discovery. The book cites a large variety of various studies which showcase that children show extreme psychological and physiological effects in terms of their mental health and well-being when they regularly interact with plants and trees.

walking through parks or nature with trees.

3. Bring your friends and family to treed areas more often when

During a trip to San Francisco we went to Half Moon Bay and stayed in a dreamy hotel - close to where our lovely American Distributors from Norway live. They had a hot chocolate bar outside where you could order loads of different drinks with hot chocolate and alcohol in.

ince then the thought has not left me, chocolate is HOT – and we need to make our very own HOT HOT HOT chocolate bar in riceteria before next Autumn.

Happy at home...

living room – a room to live in.... The word says a lot. A room where you live your life... Who doesn't want to live their lives to the fullest and in the most comfortable way. Your living room should first and foremost cater for you and your needs. If you love having friends over, make sure there are enough comfortable seats. If you like to hang out by yourself, you might want a different set-up.

t is good from time to time to stand back and look at your life - look at your living space and think about if it is right for the present time being... A living room with small kids must allow space for that - and when toys and lots of floor space are no longer needed you can happily change it into something else completely.

room for lounging and socializing – be careful not to rest on the laurels. Just because you hung up a certain poster the day you moved in to your house, does not mean that it has to stay in that exact same spot for years and years on end. You don’t need to engage in an extreme make over every year… You can just move things around on a regular basis, change smaller items, bring in new cushions, replace a picture. Just try the thrill of change… even small ones. Consider yourself a lucky bastard and put a poster stating exactly this on the wall!

A childs room is an ever evolving room, it really is the space where most people put a lot of effort into constant rearranging and adapting the decor to age and current needs. The Circus is coming to town…

hese words have always had a romantic spell to it. Seeing the posters all over town, circling the perimeter hoping to get a glimpse of the artists or the exotic animals… The anticipation of actually going to see the show, it is just magic. As a child I so envied the circus people – traveling with a big caravan of friends and family and animals – always on to new adventures and exciting new locations.

n Denmark we had this beautiful woman with long black hair who was the sprechstallmeister in the biggest Danish circus, Benneweis. Oh my... I so wanted to be her! Dressed like a princess and standing strong on the back of a horse. What's not to like...

When babies become toddlers and have to start learning how to eat of plates and drink of a cup – melamine is the best material ever... It is strong, durable, colorful and can handle almost anything. A set of these items is a great gift for a newborn.

ince the very first days of Rice we have done business with our hearts – we had a CSR strategy way before it became politically correct. We were the first company in Scandinavia to get a SA8000 certification – which means that we commit to uphold local labour laws in each country and make sure working conditions are according to local standards, at the least.

recently joined the society of motherhood and I am sure she

designed this print with her little baby boy in mind...

It is her own personal favorite of

all the prints she has ever made

nother part of our policy is that we allocate money and time each season to special charity projects – the list is long and it always makes me warm inside to know that we have helped refugee families on the run, we have helped build a school in Myanmar - just to mention a few. Our mantra is;

And I have to say, I love it too.

No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone

or the first time we have chosen to help locally, by selling our red dot cups and plates and donating to The Danish Hospital Clowns. We love this project - it makes so much sense... We have had the chance to meet some of the hospital clowns – they are truly amazing people and they really make a difference to the lives of the hospitalized children and to their families as well. It is very touching and very impressive the work they do and the way they go about the seriousness of the situation, with humor, intelligence and loads of empathy.

don’t think I would make a very good Hospital Clown – I am not emotionally strong enough to do that kind of work, but I am very proud and happy that we can help in another way by supporting the project.

7 Red Bell Peppers

20 Cloves o� Garlic

8 Red Onions

1 Chili

3 dl Olive Oil

2 tbsp of Muscovado Sugar

2 tbsp o� Cane Sugar

Tomato Soup

8 tsp of Salt

Sprigs of Thyme

Servings: 20 people (So you can save some in the freezer for a rainy day!)

◊ Cut the tomatoes in halves and toss them with the olive oil. Place in an oven dish. ◊ Mix the 2 sugar types and sprinkle over the tomatoes. ◊ Peel the onions, cut them into quarters. ◊ Smash the garlic cloves with your hand and add the onions and garlic to the tomatoes. ◊ Clean and deseed the bell peppers and the chili and add these as well. ◊ Sprinkle all with pepper, salt and thyme. ◊ Bake in the oven at 200˚ for 45 minutes. ◊ Blend the vegetables together when they are done, bring to boil and taste with balsamic vinegar and more salt and pepper if needed.

am often asked where I find my inspiration, I usually answer – from anywhere really and very often from food and cooking. This particular meeting and lunch, was one of the most fantastic experiences I had in a very long time. I can truly say, this was one very outstanding lunch.

How old were you when you started cooking?

I started my aprenticeship when I was 23 years old.

How did you get the ide a to cook in colors?

Because I love colors so much and I found out that the same colors taste so nice together, and you can really concentrate on the taste wh en the colors are not mixed. I love the harmony on the pla te, and you can create something special within the menu – like a drama turgie.

Is it difficult to stay creati ve when you limit yourself to cer tain colors?

No, I can be even more creativ e.

Which color is the most diffi cult to cook in?

I don't think any color is diffi cult – but I never do black.

Do you have a favorite color – and why? Pink, rose and all these shades . I just love them and always have.

How many other female ch efs are there with a 2 star Mich elin Restaurant in Switzerland?

I am the only one in Switzerlan d.

You seem so calm and togeth er – what's your secret?

It is my nature, I do yoga eve ryday, I love my work and my life, I loo k after myself very well.

Do you have any advice for young women out there who dream of doing what you ha ve done?

To be brave if you have a dre am, to be yourself and be true to you rself, don't think about success – focus on all the joy and fun you wil l have doing what you love.

f you happen to live with someone who is slightly intimidated by colors, it can be a good idea to slowly ease them into your universe by adding a few soft shades in almost tone in tone colors, here and there. When you use tone in tone, the overall effect is less explosive and dominant than contrast colors will be.

he same cupboard, just given a new paint job, can change the overall look of it very easily – blue tones, green and soft mint is very soothing and will scare no one. We are head over heels in love with gold at the moment and we can't help but adding a bit of gold details to everything we can get away with – it really just adds that outstanding every day magic finishing touch to even the simplest of things.

his season we are in love with the mix of cream, coral, turquoise, soft mint, old style kitchen green... and a few shades of pink. The old kitchen cupboards come from France and used to belong to my husbands Grandmother. We had them in our kitchen in Paris for 15 years and of course we just had to bring them with us when we moved back to Denmark. By now they have had at least 6 different colors already and at the moment it's a nice delicate cream with a foxy wallpaper from Dutch wallpaper company Eijffinger.

We love these lips - we love kissing... For a while we have been spotting lips everywhere – from Tokyo to San Francisco... Surely it is a sign that we all need to kiss some more, therefore we have made our own little kissy kissy pattern. Our hope is to inspire you to keep up some great kissing with this lovely print that we have used on many items... From posters to scissors to paper to sandwich bags, toiletry bags, chocolate molds... You name it!

Benefits of Kissing

1. Kissing lowers stress

It decreases the stress hormone cortisol and increases serotonin levels in the brain. Kissing has also been measured to lower anxiety and has similar benefits to meditation.

2. Kissing makes us happier

It improves our mood by increasing endorphins, which are our feel-good hormones.

Sprinkle a lovely silicone mold with colorful sprinkles of your choice. Make sure that there is just enough sprinkle to cover the bottom of the mold.

Melt a good quality cooking chocolate and pour it into the mold. Leave to cool off and – woohhooo – loads of sweet chocolate kisses just ready to be served. We have used white chocolate, but you can use any kind you prefer.

Kissing keeps us healthy It improves our immunity by releasing antibodies that kill bacteria. And kissing helps us prevent cavities by increasing saliva that washes our teeth. It has also been shown that our saliva secretes natural antibiotics when we kiss.

4. Kissing calms us down and promotes pleasure

It increases levels of oxytocin otherwise known as the "love hormone" which calms us. Kissing also reduces pain through our saliva which contains a kind of anesthetic and increases pleasure by releasing dopamine.
