People Resolutions Case study- Mediation percieved discrimination

Page 1

Case Study: Mediation Perceived Discrimination (Multi-National Production Company) The investigation had already begun into a recurring complaint that a supervisor had discriminated against an employee on the grounds of race. During the second interview, the investigator decided that there might be a possibility for constructive resolution and ‘paused’ the process to allow for a skilled mediator to be made available. The case was closed by lunchtime and both people went back to work. The Plant Manager was delighted. It had saved valuable time and money but also had a positive effect on the atmosphere on the afternoon shift.
