R. Valentine Atkinson 1263 6th Ave San Francisco, CA 94122 415.731.4385 www.valatkinson.com info@valatkinson.com For more than 30 years R. Valentine Atkinson has received international recognition for his contributions and work surrounding the sport of fly fishing. He is a member of the Federation of Fly Fishers Hall of Fame and his photographs have appeared in every fly fishing publication and numerous books. “Twenty years ago I started taking a camera on fishing trips after realizing that there was a lot more to angling than catching fish. Over the years I have learned to combine these two passions into my life's work. I've now traveled to 29 countries on assignments and I must confess that in recent years the challenge of making a really great image has started to transcend my desire to catch fish. However, fly fishing and photography go very well together. The secret is knowing when to put down the rod and pick up the camera. These days I travel farther afield but it's the same quest for beauty and solitude that motivate me. It is my sincere desire that my images share with you the passion for these wild and romantic places. If they do, then hopefully you will share the desire to cherish, respect and protect what wilderness remains in the world.

Mark Lance River Light Images 7047 East Peakview Place Centennial, Colorado 80111 303.771.8389 www.riverlightimages.com mark@riverlightimages.com Mark Lance grew up chucking poppers and plastic worms to farm pond bass across Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. That all changed when the family moved to Colorado and he promptly talked his dad into buying him a fly rod and a "Thompson A" tying kit. Photography came next, spurred on by the Nikon his grandfather brought to him from overseas. Mark has been fly fishing now for nearly 40 years and the two passions have merged into River Light Images. Mark is Southwest Fly Fishing Magazine's Rocky Mountain Field Editor. River Light Images photography has been featured by Scott Fly Rods, Hyde Drift Boats, Trout Unlimited, Reel Recovery, American Rivers, Southwest Fly Fishing, Fly Rod & Reel, American Angler, Gray's Sporting Journal, Patagonia, and numerous international lodges specializing in fly fishing adventures. Through the years Mark and his wife Sharon have been extremely strong conservation advocates and very active Colorado Trout Unlimited members.

Along the way his interest in still and video photography expanded to a professional level. Most recently, his work has been featured in The Drake Magazine and on the cover of Rio Product’s fall 2007 catalog. While new on the scene his photographs of fish taking insects or baitfish are something to behold. The photos in this exhibit were taken on the Yampa River below the Stagecoach Reservoir.

Patrick Clayton FishEyeGuy Photography PO Box 1588 Driggs, Idaho 83422 206.200.3024 www.fisheyeguyphotography.com fisheyeguyphotography@hotmail.com Pat Clayton resides in Driggs, Idaho which offers endless opportunities to pursue his passion for the outdoors. One of these activities involves taking spectacular and completely unique underwater photos of trout and salmon across the U.S. and Canada. For Pat, his photography is far more far than a business. “Photographing, for the first time, these unique species is a way for me to share their beauty with others. I hope it will help bring awareness to our endangered watersheds and the species that call them home.” Everyone who encounters these wonderful photos wonders how he is able to compose these incredible shots. “Using a variety of self-taught techniques through much trial and error, I have been able to record these unique salmonids in detail which has never before been seen. These locations are highly researched to coincide with the best water conditions and spawning colorations. My ideal shooting location is miles from a trailhead and thousands of feet down in a river gorge, where few have been. I've spent countless days chasing subject matter from the high aspen plateaus of Arizona to the stunning peaks of British Columbia.”
