There are literally hundreds of streams throughout South Park offering just about every kind of water for fly fisherman. My experience with this area began in the late 1960’s and I am never disappointed by a trip to the region. Three main waterways in bisect South Park – Middle Fork, South Fork, and Tarryall Creek. There are numerous public access points plus a lot of private water on an assortment of ranches. More than 50 miles of South Park Streams have been designated Gold Medal Water by the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Many Anglers think of the “Dream Stream” (the river between Spinney Mountain and Eleven Mile Reservoirs) as the ‘go to’ spot because of the constant publicity it receives (you should have fished it before it was discovered!). But South Park offers far more opportunities for big fish and solitude. The pictures that follow were taken in July & August of this year Paul Prentiss
