SURF’S UP FOR FESTIVAL

THE EASTERN BEACHES WILL BE ABUZZ WITH SURFERS THIS MONTH AS THE ANNUAL NOOSA FESTIVAL OF SURFING ROLLS INTO TOWN.

The festival, on from March 3 to 12, will include all manner of events including the premiere of the surfing documentary The Long Road to Grajagan on March 5 from 6pm at the Deus Noosa Store at 15 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads.

With a history stretching back to the Noosa Malibu Classic longboarding event in 1992, the Noosa Festival of Surfing has evolved to become one of the world’s premier social surfing events, now managed under the guidance of World Surfaris.

The 10-day event features all manner of surfing competitions, live music, a beach bar and surfboard shaping and art exhibitions as well.

Surfing events are scheduled for First Point, Rivermouth, or Castaways Beach from March 4 to 12, daily from 7am.

The ever popular Surfing Dog Championships are to be held on March 4 from 3pm at First Point, Noosa, and International Women’s Day on March 8 features a Womens Surf Festival from 7am to 11am at the Beach Bar.
