MY CAREER Maya has been in the fashion industry for over 20 years. Her career in the bridal industry began with Vera Wang, at her flagship store in New York City. In 2003, Maya moved to Hampton Roads and purchased Tiffany’s Bridal in Norfolk in October 2004. After a few years making it her own she changed the name to Maya Couture in 2007. In January 2014, her 10th year of business, she expanded the company with the opening of a second location in Suffolk, Virginia, called Maya Couture on Main. She expanded Maya Couture on Main in 2015 to offer prom and social occasion wear. In February 2015, Maya acquired Virginia Beach bridal salons Pure English Couture Bridal and Silk Bridal Studio.
