Q: Are beauty consultations always necessary? A: While there are always exceptions to the rule, I’d say that preview sessions are necessary for brides. It is our opportunity to craft the perfect look for your big day and for you to get to know your beauty team better. It means we will show up on your wedding day not as strangers but as friends. You will be able to sit back and enjoy being taken care of and knowing that everything will be exactly how you want it. There will be no surprises since you have already had the chance to discuss and troubleshoot any issues with the look.

Q: How early do you recommend brides booking a stylist and choosing a style? A: There’s no such thing as too early! Some brides book 18 months out and some 6 months out… but the longer you wait the less likely you are to land the beauty team you want most! Once your date and venue are locked down, there’s no need to wait. As far as choosing styles, you should have your dress purchased and know your colors and the overall vibe of your big day. Your attire deﬁnitely plays an integral role in what styles will compliment you most! Your preview appointment should be done closer to the wedding once your details are locked down and your hair is the color and length you want it.

Q: Other than pictures, should a bride bring anything to trial appointments? A: Yes, deﬁnitely bring your veil along with any other hair accessories. Also your jewelry for the big day is helpful too! Putting on all your accessories really helps imagine the ﬁnal look! Wearing white or the color of your wedding attire is helpful too!

WHAT IS A SAVE THE DATE? SAVE THE DATE is a pre-invitation that oﬃcially announces your wedding date and lets guests know that they will, in fact, be invited to the celebration.

REASONS YOU SHOULD SEND SAVE THE DATES PLENTY OF NOTICE Sending out save the dates will make it easier for your wedding guests to plan accordingly with their schedules, jobs, reservations and rentals. UP-TO-DATE DETAILS Save the dates are a great place to include your wedding website. Doing so will keep your outof-town guests up-to-date on hotel blocks, transportation details, local recommendations, etc. SHOW OFF YOUR ENGAGEMENT You’ve had your engagement photos done, now share them with your guests. Select your FAV photo and use it on your save the date. This way your wedding guests will have all the information they need, plus a fabulous photograph to look at on their fridge.

If you send out a save the date and a wedding guest already has something happening that day, there is a good chance they will call and let you know.

The day was filled with lush, upscale details and gorgeous muted colors that were perfect for the season. The bride, groom and wedding party made their final preparations at the Waterstone Resort and Marina in the heart of Boca Raton, Florida before heading to the waters edge, the site of the first look. Brittney and Ryan had their first look on the shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards the couple and their wedding party made their way to The Addison for the ceremony and reception. Flowers were dripping from the archways and ceilings which made the entire event absolutely breathtaking. Every detail was perfection - From Brittney’s all-white peony bouquet to the assorted pink bridesmaids dresses, every detail accented one another perfectly.

Most people think of wedding planning as a lengthy process. For a number of reasons, such as needing to spread out payments, or certain venues and vendors booking up well in advance, having months to plan your wedding is almost a must. If you’re a couple who ½nds yourself in a situation where you’re planning a lastminute wedding (due to military deployment, for example), here are some tips to help you with your planning: 49

Establish the budget. Set your overall budget and make sure you’re clear on any parameters set by ½nancial contributors, such as speci½c guests they want invited. Make the guest list. Narrow the list down as much as possible and don’t second-guess yourself. It’s time to make quick decisions. Invite your wedding party. Try a personal invitation or set up a lunch date with the attendants you’d like to invite and ask them there. Find the venue and set the date. Start with venues that ½t the look you want to achieve. 1. Grooms in white.

Who says the bride is the only one who should wear white to the wedding? Today’s fashion experts urge grooms to do the same.

2. Facial hair.

Light facial hair or scruff has become quite fashionable for grooms and groomsmen.

3. Powder blue accents.

Powder blue has been one of the most popular accent colors for grooms. If you’re gravitating towards a powder blue suit, we recommend going with just the blue jacket and pairing it with black pants for a more timeless look.

4. Bow ties.

Bow ties have been a trend for a few years now and we don’t see that changing any time soon. This enduring neckwear offers either a formal or fun look depending on the fabric and pattern you choose.

5. Or no tie at all.

It has become more fashionable for grooms to forgo their neckties and wear collared shirts paired with vests or a jacket. This look is best suited to more casual weddings. Stick to ties for formal affairs.

6. Satin lapels.

In a nod to proms and formals of yesteryear, wedding fashion designers have introduced suits pairing more than one fabric, such as wool jackets with satin lapels.

7. Red!

Bright, popping red has also started trending. If you’re a groom who doesn’t want to be missed, this may be the accent color (or, if you’re really bold, the suit jacket color) for you! 53

The vendors who work with you on your wedding assume most of the responsibility of making sure you and your future spouse have the most amazing day of your lives. They spend a lot of time before - and sometimes after - the wedding seeing that everything comes together perfectly for you. If you’d like to thank one or more of your wedding vendors for their hard work with a tip but you’re not sure how much or when to tip them, here’s a guide to help you:

• STYLING SERVICES.

It’s customary to tip your stylist or barber 15 to 20 percent of their fee, and the tip should be added to their payment at the time of service.

• OFFICIANT.

If you’re using an oﬃciant at your house of worship, you would most commonly make a contribution to that place of worship ($100-$250 is average). If you’re using a private oﬃciant, they’re usually paid a direct fee and tipping is optional. $50- $100 is the recommended range.

• WEDDING PLANNER.

If you’d like to recognize exceptional service by your wedding planner, either present the tip to him or her at the end of the wedding day or in a thank you note after your honeymoon. The recommended range is $100-$500 (depending on how long the wedding planner is working with you beforehand and on the big day). 73

• MUSICIANS.

If you have a band, the average tip is $25-$35 per musician. DJs and emcees average a tip of $50-$100. Tips are typically presented to them at the end of the reception.

• PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS.

Tips for vendors who work for themselves may vary from those who work for a big company (because the individuals tend to earn more per event). An average tip for individuals is $50-$100 and the average for employees is a little higher at $100-$200.

• CATERER AND SETUP TEAMS.

These behind-the-scenes staﬀ members are typically tipped in the contracts you sign for them. Review all of your contracts to see which include gratuities and which don’t so you know whether or not to tip someone.

Beautiful Ways to Remember Those No Longer With You at Your Wedding by Susan Southerland

Weddings are joyous occasions, which can sometimes make it even more difficult when people we love canâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t be there. If you ďŹ nd yourself in this position, there are some wonderful things you can do to honor those loved ones. Here are a few ideas: 78

Reserve them a seat. Place a rose and photo of your loved one on the seat they would have taken if they were there.

Sew fabric with their name(s) into your wedding attire. Have the fabric sewn inside your clothing near your heart so they’re with you symbolically throughout the day.

Create a display with photos of your loved ones. Write a sweet and touching quote on a chalkboard.

Set up a table at your ceremony or reception. Place framed photographs of your loved ones. You can decorate it with a pretty ﬂoral arrangement, maybe including sprigs of rosemary for remembrance.

Make a donation in their name. Choose a charitable organization that has meaning to you or your loved one and make a donation. Add a note of the donation in your programs

Dance for them. Choose a special song and have the DJ or emcee play it in their honor. Then do your best to get every guest out onto the dance ﬂoor. 79
