Arielei Kinzer Photography | Real Wedding
The wedding took place at an apple orchard in Chimayó, and Lynsey spent the week beforehand picking apples. She used these apples for homemade apple butter, which she then packaged into little jars to give away as wedding favors! How awesome (and adorable!) is that? One of Lynsey’s good friends is an incredible local florist: the owner of Renegade Floral here in Santa Fe. So, as you might expect, the flowers done for this wedding were absolutely stunning! - Arielei Kinzer Photography

Sara Irene & Alex April 9, 2018

Maura Jane Photography | Real Wedding Sara-Irene and Alex had originally planned a large local wedding here in Albuquerque. After a month of planning, they realized that the upcoming wedding didn’t portray the two of them very well. It didn’t feel like they thought their wedding should. It didn’t take long for them to flirt with the idea of an elopement. After all, Sara-Irene already had her dress and none of the invites had been sent. After scouring Pinterest for ideas, they fell in love with and settled on Iceland. One quick phone call and they changed their plans and dates to head to the land of fire and ice. - Maura Jane Photography

With just me as their photographer and the wedding officiant in tow, they had the most intimate wedding one could ever imagine. It may have been cold but the wind blew Sara’s bouquet ribbons in the most beautiful fashion adding to the ethereal look of all their photos. It also made it so only they themselves could hear each other say their vows, adding to the intimacy of the day. Afterwards we traveled around the island to some of the most picturesque locations for photos that you have ever seen. From the black sand beaches in Vik to the icy glaciers on the south side of the Island, we were all completely awestruck by its beauty. SaraIrene and Alex could not have picked a more ideal place to say I do. With their adventurous hearts and desire to keep their wedding intimate, it all fell together perfectly. Congrats lovebirds! - Maura Jane Photography 53

Event Center at Sandia Golf Club | Real Wedding The venue had everything we were hoping for: gorgeous scenery (the best we saw and we looked at more than seven venues), a diverse menu to choose from, the perfect amount of privacy for our intimate evening, and the staff was untouchable when it came to accommodations and service. While searching for our venue we didn’t have any “must haves,” but the second we stepped foot inside the Event Center we both knew “this was the place!” One of the most memorable parts of the evening was when the doors opened for me to walk down the aisle, seeing my soon-to-be husband’s face light up against the most breathtaking backdrop of the Sandia Mountains. It was a moment I had always dreamt of. Words cannot describe the feeling I had. - Shelbi, Bride

Event Center at Sandia Golf Club | Real Wedding
It’s always such an honor to share in a couple’s wedding day and we were especially grateful when Shelbi and Michael selected the Event Center at Sandia Golf Club for their big day! When describing Shelbi and Michael’s wedding, the first word that comes to mind is fun! Shelbi and Michael are such a fun couple and you could see that in everything they were planning. If nothing else, they wanted to ensure their guests had a blast! Not only did they have all the typical elements to make for a fun wedding, but they added their own touch of an ice luge for shots, photo booth and yard games to really make it a unique and fun experience for their guests! There are definitely a lot of favorite moments from their wedding, but I have to say my favorite was seeing their love come full circle on that day with their sweet little boy standing by their side. - Lauren Landavazo, Event Center at Sandia Golf Club 59

first day of forever
When two soulmates finally find each other in this world, life begins anew. Heartwarming or hilarious, that’s why proposal stories are always the most magical tales to tell. So, we asked Albuquerque + Santa Fe’s local, engaged couples how their lives together first began. The moments they shared with us brought laughter, happy tears, and hope into all of our hearts, and hopefully into yours now, too!

monica and jon
Monica and Jon met through what seemed to be fate; he had been in a motorcycle accident, and she was his physical therapist. After he had healed, he would still come into the office to say hi and catch up with Monica, and one day, he got up the courage to innocently ask her to get a beer as a thank you and it soon turned into dating. Three and half years later, a proposal was in the works. The couple went to the aquarium and during the shark feeding, the divers came down into the water with a banner that said, “Psst, you, ya you, Monica Chavez.....Will you marry me?! Her friends were hiding throughout the crowd, recording the whole thing. As soon as she said yes, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers. Afterwards, a celebration dinner took place with friends and family. Monica says that this was the most wonderful day of her life.

courtney and joshua
Courtney and Joshua met in middle school, and started dating the summer before junior year. Throughout junior and senior year, Joshua, of course, had asked Courtney to all the high school dances. The proposal, on their 7th dating anniversary, was a combination of all of the ways he had asked her to high school dances. A scavenger hunt took place, and after following all of the clues, she found Joshua down on one knee. Courtney says, “I can’t even remember what he said, but I immediately said yes and gave him a big smooch!”
jasmine and alex
Jasmine and Alex met as teenagers for what they thought was the first time, but it turns their families were friends in High School! The two had met before as children and didn’t realize it. It was truly fate that they met again years later. After seven years of dating Alex surprised Jasmine with a dream trip to Disneyworld. Alex planned to pop the question on their vacation, but not before asking Jasmine’s father for her hand. On the second day of their trip, in front of Cinderella’s castle, Alex and Jasmine posed for a quick photo, but as she tried walking away to check it out Alex called her back for one more photo only instead she turned around to find him down on one knee, asking her to marry him. Jasmine shared, “As a wedding photographer, I capture the happily ever after’s of so many wonderful people. I couldn’t believe my happily ever after began in the most magical place.”

celeste amd joseph
Celeste and Joseph were introduced at a networking event by Joseph’s brother. They had been friends, but one day decided to finally go on a date. Celeste is a manager at Bryan’s Photography, and during a styled shoot for ABQ Bride, the model could not make it in, so Celeste volunteered to be the “bride” for the shoot. To Celeste’s surprise, Joseph agreed to be the groom. At the very end of the styled shoot, Joseph knelt down on one knee and proposed on the altar of the Whyte Chapel. Celeste thought that he was just really getting into the modeling, but Joseph had planned this proposal out, since they would be dressed up and the photographer could capture it all. “Once the shock wore off, the ugly crying began,” says Celeste.

up close + personal As a business owner, how do you keep love on the forefront? I make sure all of my employees feel the love. One of the reasons I became an entrepreneur was to create a work environment where they know they will be treated fairly, that the job will be fun and random perks/treats are the norm.
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? I knew a guy who had roses sent to a gal for two weeks straight - different color roses each day.

“They have inspired me to open my heart to others as they did for me” - Mike Silva, Owner
Tell us about a couple whose love and personalities inspired you. When I was in high school, I became friends with a guy who I remain friends with to this day. His parents took me and another friend in as their own. Throughout high school, college and life, they have remained significant to me. They have mentored and guided me. I didn’t have many great male role models in my family, but I gained one from this relationship. I saw hard work, dedication to job, family and community from the man I call Mr. P. I have had the ups and downs like many of us have, when I need a pick me up, I often call the person I know will listen, advise and guide me to answers. I call Mrs. P., she always has the right words for whatever the situation. They introduce me as their son, they “brag” about me to their friends and family. They have shown me love since the beginning of our relationship. They have inspired me to open my heart to others as they did for me. 73

up close + personal As a business owner, how do you keep love on the forefront? As a business owner, keeping love on the forefront for me is alleviating the stress that comes along with the big day by making it possible for not only my couple to enjoy their day, but their friends and families as well! Why not have an appointed professional to oversee all the pretty little details?!
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? The most romantic gesture I’ve ever witnessed was not just some simple task or random act of kindness, but the compassion and caring that went hand in hand when my bride’s grandmother could not make it to her wedding. Her husband-to-be drove hours to make it possible for her favorite person to be present. He put his bride’s happiness before his needs and that to me is more romantic than any gift or speech.

up close + personal As a business owner, how do you keep love on the forefront? For me it’s because I can’t wait to go to work every day and I love what I do. It permeates every aspect of the business. It is reflected in the relationship with my clients, it causes me to truly listen and go beyond their expectations, it leads to excellence in the design and execution of the events created for them.

What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? It might be more fun to talk about roses, candlelight or a trip to Paris but the truth is, the answer for me is the everyday kindnesses of a couple married for longer than most of us have been alive. The actual conscious choice of cherishing a spouse in each word, each deed & each action every day for a lifetime. This is the most romantic gesture I have ever witnessed.
keeping love on the forefront
“Their heritage of love, joy and determination has been the foundation for my life and my business.”
That couple would be my parents. They were opposites, my Dad emotional & fiery but with a huge tender heart, very dapper, my Mom calm, loving, even tempered, elegant & classic, both were brilliant, passionate, strong minded individuals. They were the perfect complement to each other. After 67 years of marriage they still held hands wherever they went, still loved to dance together, laugh together, still kissed each other every morning, every night and whenever they came or went, followed by the words “I love you.” Together they got through all of life’s successes & tragedies. From high school sweethearts through the 4 years of WWII until the passing of my Dad at age 88 they were in love and best friends. Who they were inspired me & taught me how to be the best person, the best spouse & the best parent I could be. Their heritage of love, joy and determination has been the foundation for my life and my business.

up close + personal As a business owner, how do you keep love on the forefront? As a business owner it is not always easy to keep everyone happy, so I start with a positive attitude. I walk through the door of the salon with a smile, and I am sure to greet all of my employees and clients in a genuine way. I make sure to let my employees know when they are doing a great job and I always compliment my stylists on their finished work and the clients on their hair or nails. A smile goes a long way!
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? As a wife and mother of then, 2 children, my grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with the same people who were in their wedding party. To see them renew their vows now in front of their children and 65 grandchildren made my heart so happy. Seeing the love in their eyes after 50 years of marriage, what better Bliss can you ask for?

A couple whose love and personalities inspired me would be my maternal grandparents. They were married 65 years! They had 8 children and had a marriage of Bliss. They had a ranch and were both barbers. As a child it was wonderful to see the love they had for one another. They were always teasing each other and laughing. Laughter truly is the best medicine.

As a business owner I keep love on the forefront by meeting my couples in person and listening to them talk about each other and how they met while also telling them stories about my own marriage and family so that they know in this business the most important reason I do what I do is for Love! I want my clients to look at their photos and remember how they felt when they said I do.
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed?
Though I’ve seen a lot of grand romantic gestures in my own marriage and those around me, I don’t think those are the things that need to be noticed. In a marriage it’s not about the big things that keep you going. It’s the small gestures that happen daily that make it worth waking up to the next day. Like when he makes coffee before you’ve woken up or puts a water and snack in your bag because he knows you have 5 photoshoots you’re going to be working at, or when he just listens to you talk about your day. Those small things are what make you fall more in love with the person you’ve decided to spend your life with and they are my favorite.

A couple that has inspired me by far was my husband’s grandparents. When my husband and I were getting married we were young just 19 years old and they each gave us some advice. His grandmother said “when disappointment’s come around always remember how you met that’s when you will see how great your love is.” and his grandpa said “Just be Happy, Truthful, and always be there for each other.” They put each other first in all aspects of life and took such good care of each other, such an amazing example of how I want my own marriage to look like in 60 years.

Love is in the air as soon as a Bride/ Groom walks in the door. Love is there when she/he views their flowers for the first time and says perfect! The joy that comes when their vision is accomplished and achieving exactly what they want is keeping love on the forefront! 82
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? A destination wedding comes to mind. The couple’s family members lived in different places so the flowers were designed to go in a suitcase all the way to Greece for one celebration then San Diego to another then last to Los Alamos! All were romantic beautiful locations and they had the loving gesture to include their families and each other’s wishes! By the way, the silk flowers stayed unscathed through the entire journey!

Every couple inspires me with their unique love story and personality. By the fact that each wedding is one of a kind! An example that comes to mind is a couple that were avid sportsman/woman that hunted and fished together. They had small wooden carvings handcrafted of deer and elk to use in the floral for that outdoorsy feel. From a theme based wedding to just a favorite color every wedding is an inspiration.

We catered a wedding with the food truck for a couple in the mountains who, before getting married decided to travel cross country on a tandem bicycle to see if their relationship could stand the test. It did! It was such a neat wedding and a true testament of love. This couple’s wedding also holds a special place in my heart. After serving their wedding, Alfred and I flew to Vegas where he proposed to me and I of course said “Yes”! Whenever I think of this special couple I think of my own engagement story.

One couple that stood out to me most, was a couple from New York in which I planned this wedding long distance and mostly over the phone. This couple was so busy with their Broadway shows that they did not have time to plan their own wedding. With the help of myself and a couple of family members we were able to pull off the enviable. They were such a happy couple and really in tuned to one another. More than I have ever seen in couples that have been together for years and years! The Event Center at Sandia Golf Club opened in Spring of 2015 and our very first couple to get married with us is a couple whose love I will always remember. Maya and Ryan were college sweethearts. When they met they were immediately drawn to each other’s personality and instantly became good friends. After a year of friendship Ryan got the courage to ask Maya out and the rest is history. One of the sweetest, most inspiring moments from their wedding was their first kiss. For Maya and Ryan it was not only their first kiss as husband and wife, but the first kiss they ever shared together. In today’s world this is not something you hear of frequently, so it was inspiring to see the love of two people truly come together in that moment.

In the end they are always happy that we were honest from the start.

What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? Although this happened to a florist I know in another town I had to share. Break out the tissues for this one.... A gentleman was diagnosed with a terminal disease, so he set up and pre-paid for flowers to be delivered to his wife every month for a year after his passing. He hand wrote each card in advance as well. Flowers say what words can’t, or in this case what physically cannot be voiced anymore.

up close + personal As a business owner, how do you keep love on the forefront? Giving a little extra time for magic to occur. Sometimes I give a couple time alone viewing our courtyard, so they can imagine their ceremony, or take a moment to ask them how they met, or have them ring our mission bell together. A lot of romance can happen in a minute, if you allow it and, ultimately, romance is the driving force of our business. 92
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? This is a new trend, but some couples choose to have a “first-look,” and briefly meet alone right before the ceremony. Our private patio outside the bridal suite with our wilderness views is perfect for this - he comes knocking at her patio door. One couple did a religious foot-washing ceremony there, but it was quite romantic.

A large part is remembering that every couple is celebrating their love for each other and this huge step in their relationship.
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? A few months ago, we had a stylized photo shoot in our chapel with a handful of talented and local vendors. Celeste and Joseph were our models, who happened to be dating in real life! Everything from the fragrant flowers, to Ed Sheeran playing over the speakers, to the soft light filtering into the ceremony space made a perfect moment for Joseph to get down on one knee and ask Celeste to marry him. It was such a romantic and intimate moment for everyone involved. We celebrated with champagne afterwards!

“It’s important for us as vendors to possess the same excitement and dedication as the couple does when planning their special day.”
I enjoy working with all different kinds of couples, as everyone is completely different and has their own styles, ideas, and characteristics. Back in March, I worked with the most loving couple, Celeise and Natasha. They had so many creative plans for their Great Gatsby themed wedding and it was incredible to see the ceremony and reception executed after many months of planning. They were such amazing clients and kind-hearted people that working with them didn’t necessarily feel like working but having fun with the planning process and truly enjoying every step along the way. When I see a couple that cares so deeply for one another and is still as madly in love as the day they met, it serves as a continual reminder of the love that I have for this industry and clientele.

I feel fortunate that not just one couple’s love and personalities inspired me; but multiple couples inspire me. Each couple I work with has their own little story and I ask them what they envision. I have several couples who get excited; and I see their smiles and eyes light up when you discuss their day and their vision. That is inspiring when I can make it a reality for them and I see their love and excitement when talking about their details. This journey started with a love for photographing people’s moments, and has grown into a deep love of telling peoples stories through those moments captured. But even more than just the wedding day, we try to surround our couples with love and support throughout the process. We’re there to cheer them on as they plan and decide how they want to celebrate such an incredible time of their lives -- and we’re there to cheer them on as they celebrate being married for a year, five years, ten years, and more! This job is a fun one, and a happy one, and we try to pass that along to everyone we come in contact with throughout our couples wedding days!
Tell us about a couple whose love and personalities inspired you. When I think of inspiring couples - I definitely think of Sarah and Travis. We’re so lucky that all of our couples are amazing - but these two were especially wonderful. They grew up as neighbors, and decades later they promised to forever. They were surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends while they danced the night away. Laughter roared as the waves crashed in on the beaches of Mexico, and it was so dreamy. But, what filled my heart to the brim even more was their pure friendship and head-over-heels love. They’re a duo who are each other’s rock, and each other’s silly accomplice - and I just love that!

Oh gosh, there has been so much romance! But, what I think takes the cake for me, was Luke. Luke and Emily became Mr & Mrs here in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque, but they traveled here from across the world to do so. They’re teachers in the Philippines, and totally smitten with each other. They decided to celebrate right here in the USA, and invited family and friends from over 13 countries! And on that day Luke melted my heart into the biggest puddle. Immediately when I saw him he admitted that he was a thankful, excited... mess! He could barely hold it together, and was so filled with emotions as the moment approached when Emily would become his wife. It was a quiet kind of romantic - but the way he was honored and thrilled to the core to be in that moment with his beautiful bride -- it was the sweetest thing!

I am such a sucker for handwritten vows and emotional maid of honor speeches. I could probably find something in every wedding I have done that has gotten me choked up and inspired me to love a little harder. However a story that gets me every time is one of our grooms wrote down the reason he loved his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day in a card. Instead of giving her the card, he continued to do this every day for one year and decided this is how he would propose. Compiling the list in a book, he gave it to her the following year and read a couple of his favorite days, including the current day, as he got down on one knee to ask for her hand. At their wedding the storm clouds rolled in and we witnessed one of the craziest hailstorms New Mexico has seen. It didn’t faze this sweet couple at all as they laughed and stole kisses from each other in the rain. They had to completely change their plans on their wedding day but they remained unfazed and couldn’t have been happier, pure marital bliss. I really am blessed with the best clients in the world.

Games, I love to keep a couple open to silliness, laughter and fun while planning for their wedding. I love to play the association game with couples who come in to tour. This is where one player says a word and the other has to say the next word that pops into their head, no hesitation. I ask them the first word they think of when I say the words “wedding”, “ceremony”, “reception” and “marriage.” It’s fun to see if couples are on the same page with one another and what’s on the forefront of their minds. Couples will often answer at the exact same time, look at each other, and laugh!
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed?
This is not romantic in the traditional sense, but what comes to mind is a zombie apocalypse engagement photo session. This wonderful couple, Caroline and Anne, said that “we’ll get enough formal photos at the wedding and just want to have fun at our engagement session!” So, they brought a replica of Lucille from The Walking Dead, had a friend dress up as a realistic zombie and took photos as if they were running away. If you know Caroline and Anne like I do, you’d know that there is nothing more special to them than being kooky together.

I’m truly inspired by high school sweethearts Nathan and Emily. Every time I meet with them, I learn some small tidbit of their life that makes me go “awww!”. For example, they’ve changed the punch-buggy game into something a little more romantic. Instead of punching each other every time they see a Volkswagen Bug, they kiss. Also, Nathan reads to Emily before bed in order to help her sleep. She says that it helps calm her mind’s spinning wheels. Finally, when they do have arguments, they go into separate rooms, write letters about their current feelings and come back to calmly discuss. It’s amazing that this couple grew up together and are best friends to this day.

What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve witnessed? I had a couple’s wedding this summer who had the most romantic love story. They met in high school, dated all through high school, went off to separate colleges but kept their relationship going long distance! Once they graduated college, they were both pursuing professional degrees, so the bride, Morgan, moved to Illinois where her now husband, Nicholas was starting his Masters at Purdue. She put her Master’s on hold and worked while he attended school. Fast forward to this past May, Nicholas graduated and they were married in July! Morgan is starting her Master’s program this fall. What I absolutely loved about these two, is their unwavering love for each other. Through all the moves, all the distance, they were able to keep their relationship stable and loving. At their wedding reception, Morgan’s dad gave a touching toast and had the entire crowd crying. But he talked about how much he was inspired by their love for each other. I wish these two lovebirds nothing but the best in life and look forward to watching them grow together as one! 107

There was a lot of laughter after the best man’s speech, and not a dry eye after the maid of honor finished hers. It was very apparent that Paul and Sara are very loved by every person who was in attendance. Pia had always been a hopeless romantic. But when she met Tim, it was on a dating site and they were both hesitant and unsure if they’d find someone. From their first conversation though, it was clear they had met at the right time, and that it was meant to be. For their first date, the couple drove up to Madrid, New Mexico where they shared good drinks and good laughs together. Neither wanted the date to end, and it never really did. They spent the entire night together talking and enjoying each other’s company, and from that moment on it was like they were already together. A week later, Tim asked Pia to be his girlfriend and she said yes. Then, four months later, on a trip to Las Vegas with his parents, Tim proposed to Pia at dinner and, of course, she said yes! The clouds parted at just the right moment - and gave us the most perfect portrait time until it started sprinkling and A + M snuggled under the umbrella, and all was absolutely dreamy. - Kayla Kitts Photography
beauty on the rio grande Northern New Mexico is best known for its Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, mountainous landscapes, and countless art influencers. These are just a few of the reasons why I love New Mexico and everything it offers! Georgia O’Keefe said, “I found that I could see things with color and shapes that I couldn’t see any other way-things I had no words for.” —which describes perfectly why I choose to design and create such visions for my couples. Working alongside a team like this while shining light on the endless possibilities for your nuptials is a dream come true! Danessa Gonzales, Owner

Los Poblanos was the perfect place to have our wedding. Seeing that we both grew up in Albuquerque, we thought it only made sense to have our wedding in our hometown. We planned our wedding from out of state but were never disappointed. - Paige and Brian, Bride and Groom

The Los Poblanos team made our day an absolute dream. They were so welcoming and accommodating that we had no worries throughout the planning process and not a single concern on the day. The staff was very considerate and understanding of our stresses and desires, but they always went the extra mile. The efforts of the Los Poblanos team are greatly appreciated. - Paige and Brian, Bride and Groom

Michelle & Dennis | Real Wedding Dennis and I dated 14 years ago, and when we realized that fate had brought us back together after a long journey of searching for that happiness that people so rarely find, we knew it had to be special. We wanted to host an evening of fun and elegance for our friends and family to celebrate our reunion and our love. The Hyatt Regency Downtown was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception, providing a backdrop of modern elegance. Nothing spoke to our dream wedding more than the classics like the black tux with bow tie and stunning décor. We kept it modern and trendy by incorporating items like ahi poke (a tribute to our favorite place Kauai), champagne Jello squares studded with flecks of 14k gold and a casino night, making the evening uniquely us! It was very important to me to bring on my very own “dream team” of wedding professionals that I have had the pleasure of working with for several years. The evening was exactly how I imagined, it was full of love, laughter and the beginning of my life with the man that I know I am meant to be with. - Michelle, Bride

dramatic new mexico skies We had a wonderful time capturing the essence of a wedding day at this beautiful venue! The eclectic decor was a perfect setting for the elegant styles of the bridal outfits and flowers, each working together for a unique photo shoot every bride dreams of. The dramatic New Mexico skies presented a perfect background for this couple from the wrap around balcony overlooking the picturesque city of Albuquerque! Appreciation to all who participated in sharing their time and talents. - Kevin’s Photography Local wedding organization, New Mexico Wedding Professionals, collaborated on this styled shoot. Floriography Flowers | Real Wedding Whimsy and romance intersected in the most delightful way at Paige and Brian’s summer wedding. The always enchanting Los Poblanos acted as the perfect backdrop for the afternoon soiree at the La Quinta event center. Paige wore an elegant gown that vibed perfectly with the garden party feel of the celebration. The color palette was inspired by the lavender fields of the venue and the soft romantic tones of summer. The bride carried a garden-inspired bouquet of white tree peonies and a lush collection of blooms grown on a farm less than a mile from the property. These local blooms by The Bloomist Farm included lisianthus, sweet peas, and larkspur. - Floriography Flowers

Paige and Brian tied the knot on the front lawn of the event center which allowed for an easy transition for guests to a fun reception. Concept + Photography by Maura Jane Photography Wedding trends have always come and gone, from mason jars and burlap, to dresses with puffed sleeves and cakes with fountains. However a wedding that is timeless can always be appreciated. We wanted to create an inspiration photoshoot with a classic and elegant theme. A wedding with timeless touches that also incorporating certain trends that are popular now with some of the most beautiful and stylish weddings of today. We used the popular color of dusty blue throughout the shoot from the yummy macaroons on the dessert table to beautiful earrings that graced the brides ears and the pumps on her feet. She wore her hair in a classic chignon while the groom looked equally as dashing in a navy suit. Exquisite peonies and eucalyptus hung from the mint blue classic getaway car and down the long wooden tables. Ornate mirrored signs with effortless calligraphy decorated the entrance to the reception area and the dessert table. Everything taking place at one of the most beautiful venues Albuquerque has to offer, Los Poblanos Historic Inn + Organic Farm. 180
Dream Like You Mean It As a wedding photographer, I strive to create images and memories for my clients that they can look back on years from now and still love. This was the main motivation behind this photoshoot. Creating something that we can still appreciate 10, 20, 30 years from today. However, I must say that my most favorite wedding trend that I am seeing more and more of is couples truly making their weddings their own. They are doing away with stuffy traditions and incorporating things they love and leaving out things they don’t. This is what it’s all about after all!

Concept + Design by Tiffany Burke Events My vision for this styled shoot was to showcase the rich and romantic passion that flows through Spanish culture. The rich colors are meant to catch the eye and get your heart pumping. A creative twist that I wanted to incorporate was chilies, to not only pay tribute to New Mexico, but also to the flavor that activates all senses. This distinct detail made the dĂŠcor unique and fun! These same characteristics are what I want brides and grooms to feel for their special day. My goal as an event planner and designer is to combine the personalities and visions of couples and create an atmosphere that astonishes them and those who will share these memories. Individuality from these couples is what fuels my creativity and maintains our identity. Every love story is worth telling and that is why I do what I do.
182
Dream Like You Mean It The love story I am telling with this shoot is sensuous love. This deep-seated vision is represented by the rich colors, hot accents, and wild textures of New Mexico and the Southwest. From the smallest details of the chilies and the lace on the gown, to the vibrant altar and romantic sweetheart table, there is a visual dance of character represented in this styled shoot. This dance was lit with candles and swung with creativity to bring together masculine and feminine energy to create Perfect Picante Passion.

Concept + Photography by Briana Nicole Photography I love this beautiful state we live in. We have some of the most spectacular views and amazing culture surrounding us daily. With this shoot we really wanted a Southwestern Vibe but more importantly a New Mexico vibe too. The Hyatt Regency Tamaya was a perfect location because their resort has an amazing view of our Sandia Mountains and their entire resort is covered in Najavo Art and Pottery. Black Bow Events styled our tables with chile ristras and turquoise accents and Maggies Wedding Cakes provided a perfect tribal designed cake that tied the whole look together. Our beautiful bride wore handmade turquoise jewelry from Larry Martinez Jeweler and we took their portraits in the open air with the desert as our background. I’m so happy with how it turned out and so thankful for the amazing team of wedding professionals who helped contribute.
