Nancy Knoepfel Non-Foods Specialist
Nancy brings a unique chef’s and Foodservice operator’s perspective to Non-Foods. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Nancy worked in a variety of food establishments for years before turning to sales, the past 13 years in both equipment and non-foods. Nancy works to build lasting relationships with customers by listening to their needs and providing unique, cost effective solutions to their non-foods and packaging needs.

Dennis comes to us with over 20 years’ experience as a foodservice distribution professional. He has held many roles including Chemical and Beverage Sales & Service rep, Category Manager in Non-Foods and Grocery/Bakery, and Sales Manager. His passion lies in helping restaurants find those Instagram-worthy tabletop or carryout items that make your food shine. Drawing on his extensive Non-Foods experience and keen attention to detail, he can also assist in specifying the right equipment and supplies to help your culinary concepts become reality.

Paper
Paper takeout boxes are an affordable and eco-friendly way to package up your to-go orders or leftovers. These containers are available in several prints and are a popular option for Chinese takeout boxes.
Plastic
For sturdy design and versatility, plastic is one of the best material options for takeout containers. These durable plastic takeout containers ensure that your delivery orders will arrive at your customer's door without leaking or losing their heat.
Foam
Hinged foam containers are a great option for carryout orders and leftovers. These containers are lightweight yet durable enough to securely hold your customers' food.
Aluminum is another commonly-used food-grade metal. Some key advantages of aluminum are its temperature tolerance, light weight and corrosion resistance.
Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate (APET) is a transparent material, but can also be colored. APET is very suitable for foods where maximum exposure of the product is desirable.
Bagasse Blend is made of a blend of Bagasse (Sugar Cane) and Bamboo that are resistant to grease, moisture and helps eliminate messy leaks. Certified biodegradable and compostable that offers durable construction for multifood applications. Not suited for home composting.
Food-Grade Polyethylene (Foam) is a preferred plastic that is used throughout the food packaging industry for its purity. It has a very simple molecular structure that does not require harmful chemical additives, i.e. as opposed to phthalates in vinyl/PVC.
High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a versatile, economical and impact-resistant plastic that is easy to machine and fabricate. HIPS is often specified for low strength structural applications when impact resistance, machinability, and low
cost are required.

Foil
Foil containers are a popular choice for Italian restaurants and pizza joints. These versatile containers make it easy to reheat leftovers in the oven, so your customers can bring the fresh-made flavors of your restaurant home with them.
Sugarcane/Bagasse
Bagasse is the by-product that's left over after sugarcane is pressed to extract its juice. This fibrous, pulpy material is used to create durable, eco-friendly takeout containers that appeal to environmentally-conscious customers.
Mineral-Filled Polypropylene (MFPP) contains an average of 50% less plastic polymers than standard polypropylene containers which reduces plastic usage. Molded Fiber products are made from a blend of pulp fibers. Not suited for home composting.
Oriented Polystyrene (OPS) is a rigid version of polystyrene. It is also a less expensive option than other clear plastics such as PP or PET.
PLA is a natural plastic material made from corn, and is 100% annually renewable. It is best used for cold applications and has a heat tolerance of 105° F. Not suited for home composting.
Plastarch Material (PSM) is manufactured from renewable plant starch and contains a blend of polypropylene fillers. PSM is derived from corn, which is an annually renewable resource that can handle temperatures up to 200° F making it perfect for higher heat applications.
Polystyrene (PS) is a versatile plastic used to make a wide variety of consumer products. As a hard, solid plastic, it is often used in products that require clarity, such as food
packaging and laboratory ware.
Polypropylene (PP) is a widely used plastic. You likely have polypropylene plastic in your fridge and cupboards right now: it's regularly used in reusable food storage containers. It's also the resin used to make yogurt containers and other single-serving tubs. PP plastics are approved for food contact.
Recycled PET (RPET) is produced from previously used post-consumer plastic products. This product is recyclable in the few communities that have appropriate recycling programs.
