Consider these tips to help grow engagement, expand your customer base, and stand out from the competition — all with very little effort and money on your part.

UNDERSTANDING THE ALGORITHM Though we may never fully crack the algorithm’s secrets, knowing its basics can help your videos convert better. The algorithm is designed to show users the best content for them. It considers the user’s interests and location but also looks at the reel’s content and popularity. The angle is good and the arrangement is nice but the food doesn’t look very appetizing. The on camera flash zapped the appeal and made the food look cold and, well, like we’re dining in a scary movie.

The angle prevents us from seeing that this is a turkey burger. Also, what’s in the bowl, blue goo? Is is important? Otherwise, the lighting is great and so is the focus.

SOLUTION

Shut off the flash and shoot it with natural light or even the overhead lighting in the restaurant as a last resort.

Shoot this burger at plate level so we can see this burger up close and personal. Maybe cut it in half to expose all of its deliciousness. And, if what’s inside that bowl is important, drizzle it on the burger.
