NEW EVENT

AGRICULTURE SCAVENGER HUNT THURSDAY JULY 20 TO SUNDAY JULY 23

Kids are invited to do the ‘Agriculture Scavenger Hunt’ at this year’s East Otter Tail County Fair. The program, sponsored by the Minnesota Farm Bureau, provides children ages 5 - 12 years old an opportunity to learn about agriculture as they enjoy the sights and sounds of exhibits and livestock shows. Children participating in the activity will learn about products grown and raised on Minnesota farms and made from Minnesota commodities while viewing displays.

Children can pick up an activity sheet at the fair office. The activity sheet contains agricultural questions. As children tour the fair exhibits, they will find specially placed posters containing the information necessary to complete the 10 question activity sheet. Once completed, the activity sheet should be returned to the starting location. The goal of the projects is to help children gain a better understanding of farming and agriculture and its importance to Minnesota. Submitted activity sheets will be entered for a daily drawing at 5:00 p.m. Winning entries will be notified if not present.

Understanding plant, animal and earth systems is so valuable to all walks of life. The more we at WTZA learn about life and life sciences, animal behavior, biology, ecosystems and care, the more we want to share with others. We love working with animals every day and it’s so much fun sharing what we observe and know to people who might not have the same experiences as us.

Financial solutions centered on you.

SUNDAY, JULY 23 11:30AM-2:30PM IN THE PARK

Shynes has the rare ability to blend shades of multiple genres over an acoustic landscape, and his songs possess a lyrical depth rarely paired with such universal appeal. This is a songwriter to watch in the years to come. Vastly emerging from humble beginnings in a small central Minnesota town, Shynes has toured with Platinum recording artist Howie Day, as well as opening up for countless National acts. “The thing that seems to separate Shynes from other performers in his field is unquestionably his voice. With a range and falsetto that is nothing short of captivating, his acoustic finger picking style acts as the perfect bed of warmth on which his soulful lyrics can rest.”

Serving the region for 115 years is an incredible feat. The joys of childbirths, the relief that comes with standing on the winning side of a close call, the sadness when it doesn’t and the spectrum of emotions we felt in the millions of moments shared in between, give our community character. Providing healthcare for more than a century deserves recognition, but the congratulations will be brief because we know there is more to do; more moments to embrace and memories to make. Celebrate wellness. Spread happiness. Take pride in where you live. We do, which is why we’ll be here alongside you for the next 115 years and more.
