theatre of fools SATURDAY, JULY 26, 12-3 PM

For 25 years Theatre of Fools’ founders Lloyd Brant and Rosei Cole have toured their unique brand of absurd theatrics to festivals and theaters across the USA. They have performed at may diverse venues from the Guthrie Theatre to Disneyland. Minneapolis comedy team Lloyd Brant and Rosie Cole are wellknown in Minnesota, drawing standing room only crowds at traditional events such as the Minnesota State Fair, Minnesota Renaissance Festival and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Lloyd and Rosie met in 1978 while both studying the Lecoq Mehtod of Acting and the Decroux Mime Technique. The Lecoq acting method is the foundation for may important physical theater groups, including Canada’s Cirque du Soleil, Switzerland’s Mummenschanz, and of course Minnesota’s own Theatre de la Jeune Lune. In 1984 they founded Theatre of Fools. They have received multiple awards from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, City of St. Paul’s Cultural STAR Program and Minnesota State ARts Board. Lloyd and Rosie believe true magic is achieved through theater and storytelling. Magic is created in the audiences’ imagination through the suspension of their disbelief. Their guide is the truth of the fool. The fool evokes laughter in each of us and connects all of us to what it means to be human. When not at home in Minneapolis, Lloyd and Rosie can be found touring Fairs and Festivals in an Airstream trailer, with their pet chicken Twyla.

The haining family SUNDAY, JULY 27 - 1-3 PM

It’s a summer evening. The chores are done and the dishes are put away. The family gathers on the front porch to relax with a few of their favorite songs and hymns. Guitars, mandolins, harmonicas, fiddles, even a big bass fiddle accompany the sweet harmonies. A few of the neighbors might even stop by and join in. The Haining Family has been bringing this scene to audiences all over the upper Midwest and even beyond. Winners of the 2004 Minnesota Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Association’s Family Talent Contest, they have never looked back. They have traveled and performed at churches, festivals, fairs, nursing homes, and city parks. They sing gospel music with a message: the message of Hope and Redemption available through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Heaven awaits those who base their life on faith in Jesus, and God’s blessings and help are available to them in this present life. The Haining Family was awarded the 2010 Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA) International Band of the Year, 2009 CGMA International Bluegrass Artist of the Year and International Vocal Group of the Year, as well as the numerous awards from the CGMA Central USA Division. The Haining Family loves to share the Gospel in song. Their audiences love to listen. 28
