About Us

Welcome to our London Studio

London has long been considered the design capital of the world, and our studio is perfectly placed in the heart of the action. Sitting at the boundary between the fast-paced City of London and the eclectic melting pot of the East, our studio is a microcosm of the city itself. We bring the energy and flair of London through our doors—it’s a place where diversity thrives, collaboration is key, and design excellence leads the way.

In 2019, award winning architecture firm Penoyre & Prasad joined Perkns&Will as a studio of the London office. We also collaborate with our sister company, branding and experience design studio Portland.

→ The Social. Bringing people together and enhancing collaborative experiences was crucial to WarnerMedia in its new space. The entire Ground and Lower Ground floors are social spaces that utilise the architecture and raw materiality to create the canvas for changeable brand and storytelling opportunities.

↑ Culture Street. Brand and storytelling moments are woven into the fabric of the design of ‘culture street’. Artwork can be updated and personalised over time. Visible from all points of the workspace, the street provides a touchpoint to the floors.

An ambitious non-profit project that will create an education and charity hub in White City.

→ The atrium completely re-imagined and now features a vast staircase that links all three levels. Dedicated project and focus rooms on working floors are centralised to create a spine from which desks branch out to create neighbourhoods close to natural light.

A space that allows its employees to be efficient in their day, while also having some outlets for fun and continue the culture to support innovation and creativity was the key driver to the design response. 27

― A THOUGHTFUL DESIGN

A shift in the hierarchy of space allows more space to be given to amenity and collaboration areas, giving more choices of how and where to work.

→ The staff restaurant on level fifteen offers healthy food options, with access to a large roof terrace and sweeping views across London. This prime space was allocated for staff use, and has been designed with multifunctionality at the core. It supports working, meeting, dining and events.


→ The central teapoint is the heart of the working floor and a key feature in the staff journey

↑ The building design is encouraging informal conversations, this has improved connectivity and is contributing to wellbeing. The introduction of a connecting staircase was a major architectural intervention to the base build scheme. This feature activates the atrium and attracts staff to the front of the building.

We brought staff together from four locations into one, a new office over 10 floors in the heart of London.

Wellness was a key design driver, and the space acheived both LEED Gold and BREEAM Excellent sustainability accreditations.

→ The success of the space is ultimately measured by the users who now have a canvas to work with, which has creativity at its heart and promotes the business in a truly dynamic and energetic way.


→ The interior blends in harmony with the base building design and palette, with interventions in the building reception and a plan that enhances the curves and flow of the building form.

↑ All offices are located in internal space and standardised in area to allow simple conversion into meeting rooms or vice versa to support future flexibility.

→ As a people-centric workplace, the space features a myriad of work settings that support mobility and the workflow of individuals. This digital hub is an exciting and highly effective workplace fit to attract top talent and continue to engage existing staff. Featuring an inspiring design narrative that overlayers stories of success and innovation, the space celebrates our client’s core values, Manchester’s powerful history and affirms a sense of belonging and pride.

↑ Central hubs on each floor are linked by a feature stair. A storytelling device, the “Digital Banner”, spans across the two floors showcasing brand messages and references to the local context. Through visual storytelling and architectural moments, the design celebrates the visionary spirit of our client and its brand, and responds to the company’s emerging digital platforms.

A space that celebrates people coming together, connecting, cocreating and interacting into an innovative and healthy environment.


→ Custom made triangular booths are incorporated to support teamwork, and were originally inspired by the Logiface Puzzle. The structures can be adapted in a number of configurations and provide comfortable settings for collaboration.

“The design is friendly, supremely efficient and has forged deeper connections between journalists and staff members.”


↑ Alternative work settings have been strategically located across the floor to encourage activity and movement. All tea points have direct access to an external terrace with views of Victoria Embankment Gardens and the River Thames.

← A central street-like space runs right through the building and is home to the teams responsible for the physical output of the newspaper. At its heart, the Reading Room plays a critical function where the newspaper would, traditionally, undergo its final edits before being sent to print. The street is flanked by a multi-functional space, a communal reading area and a radio studio. A flexible dining room with direct access to the terrace supports the traditional Wednesday staff lunch, celebrating the collegiate nature of the newspaper.

An exposed soffit and feature timber gridded ceiling used in conjunction with a variety of furniture settings.

↑ A space that does not feel like a corporate office, enabling individuals to get-awayfrom-the-desk.

The cafe has been refurbished to bring this up-to-date so it is more like a contemporary coffee bar.

Existing office space, on the top floor of One More London, has been replaced with an assortment of sizes and geometries of meeting facilities

A workplace with wellness planted at the heart, a stunning restaurant in a building with views over the docks.


← Destinations are distributed to encourage movement and an array of alternative work settings for collaboration and quiet work are located around the atrium.


Treasury Dock

Sustainability and wellbeing were key drivers in the brief for their new offices. Following a study of the building, the project team carefully designed the spaces in relation to the building’s orientation and sitespecific conditions, such as natural light and ventilation. This allowed the team to create a design that met the functional requirements of each space, while also maximising the natural conditions of the environment.


We designed an activity based work environment where views to the waterfront are maximized.

→ The design blurs traditional boundaries in favour of a hospitality experience. There is no traditional reception desk and roving concierges attend to the needs of staff and visitors. The introduction of coffee bar service and added food offering provides visitors with a wonderful experience.

→ Flexibility was crucial to the way our client need to work, so we developed the ‘blank set’ concept to enable the space to be reactive to their needs, that led them to embrace a fully agile working environment, where we introduced a variety of shared workspaces.

← Integrated brand and storytelling was key. The designs have a domestic feel, finishes are colourful and the Global Drinks Company’s history, products and values are integrated. The project had a very low budget but despite this has had a dramatic impact on staff morale with the new spaces being extremely well used.

← The TechBar is part of the staff collaboration hub on level 14. This “technology garden” displays current mobile technology for purchase in a playful yet informative fashion.

→ 14,000 books free issued by HarperCollins create feature wall between the library and the in-house bookshop

Understated quality and timeless design were the driving forces behind the design.

The introduction of the monolithic stone staircase was essential to achieving an integrated office environment; creating a fluid connection with the working floor and movement and energy within the client space. The highly polished stainless steel structure disappears beneath the stone slabs giving the impression the stair is floating.
