Amazing Grace Written by: Tan Bee Kian Translated by: Esther Hii For God said to me: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) In the past few months, my husband had been staying at home just like many others, he was not able to carry out any photography works, nor did he receive any phone calls enquiring about photography packages, be it pre-wedding or wedding day shoots. So, what had he been up to then? One of it was his involvement in the church Multimedia Team. Well done to all the members of the Multimedia Team who worked hard behind the scenes so we could join online worship every week. I am thankful for this group of brothers and sisters in Christ for faithfully serving the Lord in unity. Back in July, when we were allowed to resume physical worship at church, I believe the workload of the Multimedia Team was relatively lightened a little, in the meantime he started receiving calls and enquiries for photo shooting packages hence he had to get his hands on his profession again. The grace of God came at the right timing, for my husband not only had time to focus on serving the Lord but his profession as well. In the mid of July, our two children were back to school again and our family expenses have become much higher compared to the past few months. Under the new norm, the children have to constantly put on face masks for tuition classes, guitar classes, and dining out has become more frequent and our
expenses were higher as compared to the stay home days back in March and April. At the time, our refrigerator happened to break down and the insurance for the two cars were expiring soon; and money was much needed at that time. However, His grace is truly amazing, since July onwards my husband (Michael) received up to 11 jobs in between. From what my husband had encountered, I personally witnessed the blessings of God, and how God took care of us. God loves Michael, He blessed the works of Michael’s hands, and I personally experienced the endless love of God, He let us sail through this storm smoothly. It is only God who knows our needs, and He supplied accordingly. For I know, only the love of God is unconditional, Lord I give thanks to You once again, our heavenly Father who loves us so much. This pandemic has in one way or the other affected many, I hope the words of God could bring us some encouragement, for God is faithful, He is the true and living God, and His words are full of power. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6–7) “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever.” (Philippians 4:19-20) Amen!
