Issue #3

Do Not Worry About Tomorrow By: Kelvin Yee | Translated by: Esther Hii The Movement Control Order imposed by our Government began on 18.3.2020, however, five months prior to that (mid of October 2019) I was dismissed by my company due to the company’s financial constraint. A month later (November 2019), I reported to a new job and currently work as an advertising sales personnel and from then onward my income is solely based on commissions. Just when I thought life before me would be full of challenges, little did I know that the Covid-19 pandemic would greatly affect the world and countries around the globe would have to implement movement control/lock down approach, similar to Malaysia. Due to the Movement Control Order, my family members and I were trapped at home; and our lives were filled with fear, anxiety and worry about the future.

I want to give thanks to the Lord that during one of our family worship and prayer altar, we were once again reminded by the word of God, to entrust and commit everything unto the Lord. For our God will surely lead us beside still the waters. Since then, my family and I continued to hold on to the word of God and lived in joy and peace every day. I want to thank God once again, due to the Movement Control Order, I could temporarily let go of my burden in life and do what I like (cooking) and I truly cherish the precious bonding moment spent with my family.

Word of God: Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Mathew 6:31-34 (CUNPSS)
