Issue #7
Time, a Friend or Foe? Where do the hour, minute and second hands live? They live in a large or small clock. Sometimes, they will transform and live in electronic devices, such as watches, mobile phones, or even computers. The second hand runs the fastest, like a highly efficient working lady who grips every minute and second in doing everything, but unfortunately not many people care about her. The minute hand is like a gentleman who is slow and steady; he carries his own glamorous aura in every single step that he takes, it is difficult for people not to notice his soon approaching steps. As for the hour hand, it is like an old man with a head full of gray hair. He walks slowly and cautiously; takes only one step in every hour, and then rests for an hour. During the MCO, I had a deeper discovery experience with time and went into a love-hate relationship with it. “Love” was because my husband and I had more time to stay at home, we enjoyed cooking together and teasing each other. Even if I went to work, I could enjoy a longer sleep because there was no traffic jam. “Hate” was because I had a full "to-do list" to complete every day. Seeing the long “to-do-list” was about to be fully ticked, there would always be some new things coming and prolonged the list. The matters to be completed were never ending. At times I wondered, the hour hand is just an old man who only takes one step per hour, but why I could never overtake him? During this time, I also made up my mind to read. But by the end of MCO, my reading progress was still on the book cover. Let me be frank with you, I have a lot of books on my bookshelves, but most of them I only eif

managed to read the book cover, and some haven't even been unwrapped from the package yet. Of course, I will still blame -- time. Finally, on one fine day, I really started reading a long-standing yet dust-covered book named "The Time Keeper", a book about time, this was exactly what I needed to adjust! My progress has been very slow; if you have any quick reading secrets, please don’t mind sharing them with me. Perhaps you can also ask me about my reading progress when we meet the next time, this might give me some encouragement and pressure. Having said that, the hour hand, minute hand and second hand of a clock, which one do you choose to be? If possible, I do not want to choose to be any of them, because I rather choose to be a clock. By being a clock, I can steward my every moment, every minute and every second for a purpose, and make good use of the divine gifts to live out the function of a clock. But remember, a clock will never function without batteries; and the presence of God is like a battery in a clock, grants life and value to it. If we do not have the presence of God as the batteries in our lives, wouldn't every minute and every second of our lives are meaningless and labored in vain? Let us learn to invite the presence of God and the dwelling of the Holy Spirit in our busy daily lives, to help us make good use of every hour, minute and second in our lives for a purpose - to glorify God. Amen. P.S: During the MCO, there was a new member in my family named XiaoFei (little fatty). It is a cute short-legged floor sweeping General. My husband bought it to help me save time on cleaning. As for why it was named XiaoFei, why not try guessing? or ask me when we meet!
