The Ultimate Generous Giver By: Madam Gan H.E.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” (Malachi 3:10, New International Version).

If people

gave willingly, it showed they trusted the Lord’s promised provision and protection, and others would recognise them as God’s blessed people. Whether we’re managing our finances, our schedules, or the gifts God entrusted to us, giving can be an act of worship. Giving truly and fearlessly can show our confidence in the care and providence of our loving Father – the ultimate generous Giver! Lord, please help us live with full confidence in Your faithful provision, so we can give freely and fearlessly to You and others.

I came to know Christ in 1995, after my husband left us – myself and 5 daughters, and took all the money from our joint account in banks. Then, I was a very new Christian. I didn’t know much about Jesus and had no time to read the Bible. I was busy working to earn money to support my girls. I didn’t pay any tithes, even though I heard about it! I retired from teaching in August 2000. Two months later I received about RM70,000 as gratuity.

That year I was attending PCC (Penang Christian Centre) in Penang. And during that time, the church was going to have a new building. Then, I was thinking with this gratuity money I could help. So, I thought of the 10% tithes (i.e. I would give RM7,000) but then I decided to give RM10,000 (dear brothers and sisters, this amount of money means a lot, a lot to me)! After about 2 months, one day, I received a cheque of RM10,600 from the Ministry of Education! Until today, I don’t know the reasons the Ministry of Education sent this cheque to me!

Our wonderful Lord didn’t stop here. When I moved down to K.L. in early 2004, I was re-employed as a teacher in SJK(C) Yak Chee. I taught I taught in SJK(C) Yak Chee for in this school until September 2015 more than 12.5 years. And now as a when I helped my fourth daughter more mature Christian, I understand and family move to Princeton, United what it means in Malachi 3:10. States of America. All my 5 girls and I are so blessed by the Lord. God’s grace is sufficient for us. There is nothing God cannot solve. He is the King who reigns. Because all things are possible with God.
