THE DESIGNER

PERNILLE CORYDON Pernille is a Danish self-taught jewellery designer, born and raised in 1976 in the small town of Kerteminde on the Danish island Funen. Pernille´s interest in crafts proved at an early age and through the years her unique talent became more evident. Pernille originally sold her handmade jewellery from her small shop in Haderslev in Southern Denmark. Since then, the company has grown. Today, Pernille Corydon Jewellery is sold through more than 500 retailers in 18 countries and in metropolises such as Copenhagen, Helsinki, Olso, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Paris, and Tokyo.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

IMPRESSIONS CAPTURED Pernille often gets her inspiration for jewellery designs by exploring and collecting impressions from nature's shapes, structures and colours.

12| THE DESIGN PROCESS

RAINBOW EARCHAINS FROM OUR SS22 COLLECTION

IMPRESSIONS TRANSFORMED Pernille is observant and finds inspiration in her surroundings. Over time the impressions transform into sketches, before they eventually turn into a jewellery collection... All of our jewellery is envisioned, sketched and designed by Pernille herself in Southern Denmark - in the old picturesque town of Haderslev. That means; your favourite piece from Pernille Corydon has started life on paper - hand drawn by Pernille.

SKETCH

RAINBOW EARCHAINS

The magical colours of the rainbow inspired the design of the Rainbow Earchains from our SS22 collection. The photo below, of a rainbow across the ocean, is shot by Pernille herself.

A DEDICATION

BEING THE BEST VERSION OF US Making an effort has been a fundamental value since the foundation of Pernille Corydon Jewellery. This goes all the way from creating classic and long lasting designs, to producing with certified recycled silver and distributing our pieces with care and respect for the environment. We fully recognize the inherent contradiction between the current fashion industry and sustainability. However, we will never stop trying to be the most responsible version of ourselves. That is why we are constantly trying to improve Pernille Corydon Jewellery with new initiatives to minimize our footprint and overall impact on the environment.

19 | A DEDICATION / CSR

"We are truly dedicated to our responsibility to not only reduce our negative impact on the environment, but also to take good care of the people involved in the supply chain." PIA WITTENDORF, CSR RESPONSIBLE AT PERNILLE CORYDON JEWELLERY

PEOPLE THE HEART OF THE BUSINESS Building and maintaining healthy and respectful relationships is a core value to Pernille. The wellbeing of the many people involved in the supply chain or employed at the office and shops in Denmark, lies close to her heart. We visit our suppliers multiple times every year, and on these visits, we meet the people earning their living creating our jewellery. Their wellbeing is of the greatest importance to us and we value the good and honest working conditions we know they have. In 2019 we have committed to the United Nations Global Compact joining their effort in advancing human rights, good working conditions, environmental impact and ethical business practices.

PRODUCT RECYCLING, CIRCULATION AND LOYALTY Our jewellery is exclusively produced using certified recycled silver. In addition to producing with recycled material, Pernille Corydon Jewellery places claims and unsold stock back into circulation by melting the silver. That makes it possible to recycle the silver yet again. We carefully monitor the origin of the pearls and gemstones we use, and the jewellery is handmade as well as hand finished. For more than ten years our jewellery has been produced in Thailand at the same factory. The quality of our precious metals is tested by the Danish Precious Metal Control on a regular basis as required. At Pernille Corydon we are of course fully REACH compliant. We care about the health of our customers, so in order to protect our customers we have set up a chemical testing program, in Denmark, to confirm the absence of unwanted chemicals and that our products are nickel-free.

AURA BLUE NECKLACE MADE FROM CERTIFIED RECYCLED SILVER

PLANET MINIMIZING RESOURCES Since the beginning we have actively worked with our production team to limit the use of resources by recycling and reusing the raw materials in the production whenever possible. This means that when you wear a piece of Pernille Corydon Jewellery, you know that it has been produced with great care for the environment. All our jewellery boxes are made from FSC® certified paper and the jewellery is packed in recycled plastic bags for protection. When shipping, all materials used are recycled materials. Our marketing material is made from recycled paper and the printing company holds a Nordic Swan Ecolabel license.

"I feel truly privileged that I have been able, for the past 15 years, to work creatively with my passion for a living: Designing beautiful quality jewellery - available for anyone. A big thank you for being part of our journey." PERNILLE CORYDON, FOUNDER & DESIGNER PERNILLE CORYDON JEWELLERY

RECOMMENDED CARE AND CLEANING As an official Pernille Corydon retailer, you should always let your customers know how to take good care of their new jewellery. Jewellery will eventually wear down, the plating will wear off and the colour will fade, turn dark and start to tarnish. This is unavoidable, since precious metals and platings react with oxygen in the air. However, by following the few simple guidelines below, you can make your favourite pieces of Pernille Corydon jewellery last longer. Wear jewellery for appropriate tasks only. Avoid wearing jewellery when showering, swimming, sunbathing, cleaning, use hand disinfection, gardening or performing sports activities. Always protect your jewellery from sharp blows, scratching, sunlight and extreme heat or cold. Do not let your jewellery come into contact with nail polish remover, perfume, hairspray, detergents and other chemicals. Store your jewellery safely in a soft lined box or pouch. Try to keep your jewellery pieces apart when storing them. Clean your jewellery regularly. For daily cleaning use hot water with a drop of mild detergent and a soft cloth. Your jewellery will get clean this way but not shiny. From time to time, you can use a professional jewellery cleaning product. Always read the manufacturer’s instructions before use, and please be aware that a professional cleaning product can wear on pearls and stones. Clean your jewellery with care and remember that using a cleaning product also affects the plating of your jewellery. Important: Due to strong sunlight, jewellery displayed in windows may become discoloured. Always keep jewellery out of reach of small children.

RETURN POLICY Jewellery return If there is a defect with the jewellery when you receive it, please contact the head office no later than 10 days after receiving it. Warranty claims Please send the warranty claim item back in a hard box along with a description of the damage. Our return note must be enclosed. We will, as much as it is possible, repair the broken jewellery. If that is not possible, we will replace it with a new style. In a few cases, we will be forced to charge the customer for the repair of a necklace. Please mention this to the end customer. Repairing a chain will cost between 50 and 150 DKK / 7 and 20 EUR / 5 and 16 GBP / 8 and 24 USD / 60 and 180 NOK, depending on the specific chain. It is very important that the customers know this. Exchange of jewellery If you wish to exchange some jewellery, it can only be done with approval from the agent or a staff member from the head office. If you have approval for an exchange of jewellery, please send the jewellery to us in the original packaging. The jewellery has to appear unused. We will not accept the jewellery if it is not in this condition and reserve the right to return the jewellery to the customer again. The exchange of jewellery has to be done within 14 days of you receiving the jewellery. Return address Pernille Corydon Jewellery Kannikepladsen 6, 1st floor 6100 Haderslev Denmark Note: We do not accept packages sent by cash on delivery.
