GOAL 3

GOAL 4

Reduce barriers to access.

Support teachers to deliver quality arts education .

Many students miss out on effective arts education due to inequity of access, inadequate resourcing and lack of teacher expertise. Perth Festival is dedicated to reducing barriers that schools, teachers and students face in accessing our program. We are working towards the provision of a program that is accessible for all students through excursions, incursions and online engagement.

STRATEGIES • •

• •

Increase provision of free programs and incursions over excursions. Partner with high need-to-benefit schools to bring students otherwise unable to engage into the Festival. Create more accessible content online. Develop resources to supplement schools’ experiences.

The Perth Festival Education Program links to the Western Australia Curriculum and explicates teaching opportunities to deepen student engagement across all curriculum areas. By supporting teachers, Perth Festival is investing in better outcomes for students and building the Western Australian Arts Community.

STRATEGIES • • • •

Develop programs that facilitate more long-term engagement of schools. Provide resources teachers need (such as insurances). Explicate links to the curriculum to increase accessibility for teachers. Support teacher engagement through professional development.
