Latest Pattaya City Hall Updates
The Mayor of Pattaya, Khun Itthiphol Khunplome, chaired a meeting at City Hall on the 24th July to discuss the upcoming improvements that are to take place in the city and to announce the good news, that a specific project in Pattaya has now been given official backing from a Japanese sponsor. The meeting commenced with the Mayor, giving an update on the A(H1N1) Flu Virus. He explained that even though there had been many reported cases of the virus throughout our area, there had not been any large groups of infected people. The treatment being handed out to those affected, seems to work in a very satisfactory manner, and people are on their way to a step by step recovery. In other news, the Mayor announced that the City had been approached by many international organisations wishing to hold their events in the City that never sleeps. One of the new events to be staged is the ‘Thai-Chinese Economy Association’, who will bring 300 top Chinese businessmen to the City, who are looking to collectively invest around 100 million United States Dollars
into Pattaya. Pattaya will also play host this month to the ASEAN event, which will be held from the 2nd – 8th August. These are very prestigious
events for Pattaya to be holding and a good indication of a better future. Mayor Itthiphol, carried on to discuss the recent proposition for a ‘Monorail’ system to be constructed in the Pattaya area. He was able to confirm that a commencement of the project is
getting nearer on a daily basis. At the moment, City Hall officials are considering the different proposals from construction companies who are tendering for the opportunity of building what will become one of Pattaya best known landmarks. The Central Pricing Committee, have already finished their last draft, and have a little more paperwork to produce, with regard to the different companies quotations, before a final decision can be made.
