Welcome to the DCE European Championships Dear music lover, Welcome to the DCE European Championships! It’s great to see you all here in Kerkrade. Today, top corps from across Europe will bring out the best in themselves in the battle for the European title. Our activity is doing well. Across Europe, the number of contests and the level at which the corps are competing are increasing noticeably. You are now witnessing the climax of the season, the European Championships, for which the corps have rehearsed long and hard. The event is often called the ‘Champions League’ of the music world. The best European corps in this activity are here and have marvelous performances in store for you. As always, the title fight in the Premier Class promises to be incredibly exciting. But you should also have a look at the Junior Class. The youngsters are doing all they can to bring you the best they can. The enthusiasm of the young performers bodes well for the future. Welkom bij de DCE European Championships Beste muziekliefhebber, Hartelijk welkom bij de DCE European Championships. Goed dat u er bent. Topkorpsen uit heel Europa zullen vandaag het beste uit zichzelf naar boven halen in de Europese titelstrijd. Het gaat goed met onze muziekwereld. In heel Europa neemt het aantal wedstrijden en ook het niveau zienderogen toe. U bent vandaag getuige van de climax van het seizoen, het Europees Kampioenschap, waar de korpsen keihard voor gerepeteerd hebben.

De ‘Champions League’ van de muziekwereld wordt het evenement ook wel genoemd. De beste Europese clubs in dit muziekgenre zijn van de partij en hebben wervelende shows voor u in petto. De titelstrijd in de Premier Class belooft dan ook weer ongekend spannend te worden. Maar neemt u ook zeker een kijkje bij de Junior Class. Want ook de jeugd timmert flink aan de weg. En het enthousiasme van de jonge muzikanten belooft veel voor de toekomst. We wensen u een hele mooie dag en hopen u nog veel vaker welkom te mogen heten. Herzlich willkommen bei den DCE European Championships Lieber Drum Corps Fan, herzlich willkommen bei den DCE European Championships. Wir freuen uns sehr, Sie bei uns begrüßen zu dürfen. Top-Corps aus ganz Europa werden heute im europäischen Titelstreit das Beste aus sich herausholen. Drum Corps in Europa geht es gut. Die Anzahl der Wettbewerbe und auch deren Niveau nehmen sichtlich zu. Sie sind heute Zeuge des Höhepunktes der Saison, den europäischen Meisterschaften der Drum Corps. Hierfür haben die Corps viele Monate hart geprobt. Das Event wird mittlerweile auch ‘Champions League’ der Drumcorps genannt. Die besten europäischen Clubs in diesem Musikgenre sind dabei und haben beeindruckende Shows für Sie in petto. Der Titelstreit in der Premier Class verspricht daher auch, wieder sehr spannend zu werden. Aber schauen Sie auch bei der Junior Class vorbei, denn auch die Jugend erbringt tolle Leistungen. Der Enthusiasmus der jungen Musiker verspricht viel für die Zukunft. Wir wünschen Ihnen nun einen sehr schönen Tag und hoffen, Sie auch in den kommenden Jahren bei uns begrüßen zu dürfen. Bienvenue aux championnats européens de DCE Cher passionné de musique, Bienvenue aux championnats européens de DCE! C’est génial de vous voir tous ici à Kerkrade ! Aujourd’hui, les Corps de haut niveau d’à travers toute l’Europe nous donneront le meilleur d’eux-mêmes dans une course acharnée pour le titre européen. Notre activité se porte bien. À travers l’Europe, le nombre de concours et le niveau des Corps qui se présentent aux compétitions sont sensiblement à la hausse. Vous êtes aujourd’hui témoin du summum de la saison avec ces championnats européens, pour lesquels les Corps ont répétés avec ardeur pendant de nombreuses heures. L’événement est souvent appelé la ligue européenne des champions de musique. En effet, les meilleurs Corps européens répertoriés dans cette activité sont présents en ce grand jour et vous réservent de merveilleuses prestations. Comme à l’habitude, le combat pour le titre dans la catégorie Premier Class promet d’être incroyablement passionnant. Vous devriez également assister au championnat de la Junior Class. Les jeunes s’y dépassent pour vous présenter le meilleur de leurs capacités. L’enthousiasme de ces jeunes interprètes est un excellent présage pour l’avenir de notre discipline. Préparez vous à passer une journée formidable ! Nous espérons vous accueillir à nouveau dans les années à venir. Benvenuto ai Campionati Europei DCE Caro appassionato di musica, Benvenuto ai Campionati Europei DCE! E’ davvero un piacere averti qui a Kerkrade. Oggi i migliori drum corps da tutta Europa daranno il meglio di sé per conquistare il titolo europeo. La nostra attività cresce velocemente: in tutta Europa il numero delle competizioni e il livello delle stesse sta crescendo a vista d’occhio. Stai per partecipare all’evento più importante della stagione, i Campionati Europei, per cui i gruppi si sono impegnati in lunghe ed estenuanti prove. L’evento viene spesso definito la “Champions League” del mondo musicale. I migliori drum corps europei in questo settore sono qui presenti per offrire le loro migliori prestazioni al pubblico. Come sempre la battaglia per il titolo nella Premier Class promette di essere assolutamente emozionate, ma ti consigliamo di dare un’occhiata anche alla Junior Class. I ragazzi di questi gruppi fanno del loro meglio per intrattenere il pubblico e l’entusiasmo che ci mettono fa ben sperare per il futuro. Wat zijn de DCE European Championships? (Dutch introduction for new visitors)
Uw eerste keer bij de DCE European Championships? We leggen u graag wat meer uit over onze activiteit.

‘Drum & bugle corps’ (of de vaak gebruikte afkorting ‘drum corps’) komt oorspronkelijk uit Amerika, waar Drum Corps International de wedstrijden organiseert. De muziek- en showstijl van deze korpsen verschilt in grote mate van de in Nederland bekende fanfares, drumbands en blaaskapellen. De op Amerikaanse leest geschoeide showkorpsen schotelen de toeschouwers een waar spektakel voor. De muziekkeuze is eerder modern dan traditioneel te noemen (onder meer pop, rock, musical, latin muziek) en de showmuziek wordt gecombineerd met grote visuele effecten. De leden lopen niet in blokjes, maar volgens een gecompliceerde choreografie.
Hoewel er dus wedstrijden zijn voorafgaand aan de DCE European Championships, tellen eerdere scores niet mee in de EK. Vandaag is het dus: nieuwe ronden, nieuwe kansen voor alle deelnemers. Wel bepalen eerder behaalde scores de volgorde van optreden in de voorronde die deze ochtend en middag plaatsvinden. De deelnemers die de hoogste scores hebben behaald in de nationale wedstrijden, mogen vandaag later aantreden in de voorronde. De uitslag van de voorronde bepaalt de volgorde van optreden tijdens het grote finale spektakelstuk vanavond. Op de DCE European Championships wordt gestreden in twee klassen: de Premier Class (de hoogste klasse) en de Junior Class (de klasse waarin jeugdkorpsen uitkomen).
Door de combinatie van muziek en show komen toeschouwers meer dan eens ogen en oren tekort. De korpsen brengen ieder jaar een nieuwe show en staan bekend om hun continue vernieuwingsdrang. Zo zijn er zelfs deelnemers die inmiddels gebruik maken van elektronische versterking om bepaalde instrumenten beter tot hun recht te laten komen.
U ziet hier vandaag het neusje van de zalm. Het welbekende Wereld Muziek Concours zou u kunnen zien als de Olympische Spelen van de muziekwereld. Niet alleen vanwege de tijdspanne, maar ook omdat er allerlei verschillende disciplines te zien zijn. Wanneer we de vergelijking met sport doortrekken, kunt u de DCE European Championships zien als de ‘Champions League’ van de muziekwereld. De beste korpsen in deze spectaculaire discipline zijn hier aanwezig.
Drum Corps Europe organiseert jaarlijks de DCE European Championships, het Europees Kampioenschap voor drum & bugle corps. Dit evenement is in een paar jaar tijd uitgegroeid tot één van de grootste eendaagse muziek- en showevenementen van Europa. Het EK is het sluitstuk van het Europese drum corps seizoen. In diverse Europese landen worden wedstrijden georganiseerd van mei tot en met september. In september vinden de nationale kampioenschappen plaats (zoals het kampioenschap van onze zusterorganisatie Drum Corps Nederland, twee weken geleden in het FC Dordrecht stadion). De beste korpsen uit Nederland, Engeland, Ierland, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Italië gaan na de nationale competities in Europees verband de strijd met elkaar aan.
Alle deelnemers spelen hun show uitsluitend naar de hoofdtribune, dat is dan ook de enige tribune die wordt gebruikt. Zo heeft u altijd een goed zicht op het programma en hoeft u niets te missen. We hopen dat u van de shows geniet. En zien u graag weer een keer terug!
