A Word from Our Directors at REACH The 2014-2015 volleyball club season has definitely been a year of growth. We wanted to continue to make an impact in our community while growing the sport of volleyball. This is our second year of continuing REACH Cares as well as developing a REACH Little Spikers program for our U10/U11 athletes. We added 9 teams, 106 athletes, 22 coaches to the REACH roster this season competing both regionally and nationally on behalf of the Puget Sound Region and USAV. One of our goals always has been to enable our athletes to REACH their potential in both life and volleyball through the character traits of RESPECT, EFFORT, ACCOUNTABILITY, CHARACTER and HONOR. This includes players that graduate from high school and move on from club volleyball into college. One of our most rewarding accomplishments has been to have former REACH players as club coaches this year, and we believe this a testament to the type of club program we offer. We couldn’t be more proud of how they have stepped into this role! Our Little Spikers program has definitely been a highlight as we will continue to strive at developing a passion for volleyball in these young athletes. Mark our words, there will definitely be some talented volleyball players coming out of this group in the years ahead! Our U13-U17 Green teams were invited to play in the PSR Bid tournament, which is a huge accomplishment, and we congratulate those teams on competing with the top teams in the region. We had several teams compete in the gold brackets of both national qualifiers we attended. Also, our U13 Green team won the American bid at the PNQ this year and will be traveling to New Orleans in June. Great work! It has been an incredibly rewarding working with all the families, friends, parents and players that have been a part of REACH Volleyball Club this year. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and have had an incredible amount of support in our third year. We could not have done it without you, and for that we would like to say, “THANK YOU!". And to all of our coaches on yet again another successful season here at REACH. Our coaches have done a fantastic job of balancing practice plans, tournaments, traveling assignments, team building activities, officials, officiating and of course, their respective teams. They have steadily devoted themselves week in and week out and committed their time, energy, leadership and commitment to their teams for the past several months. They are truly the heart of REACH and for that we must also again say, “THANK YOU!". Finally, we sincerely hope that everyone in this yearbook looks back to the 2014-2015 season and is incredibly proud of what you have accomplished, just as we are.
Sincerely,
Sean Draper Jessica Caddell directors

u15 blue HIGHLIGHTS: “The highlight of my season was being able to have an impact on every team and with every player. It was great to watch the light bulb turn on for some when taught a technique that they didn't know yet, or see improvement within their game just by reminding them to be confident. I watched girls serve for the first time, observed players increase their vertical by changing their approach, witnessed setters make smart plays and watched coaches give everything they have to make their teams goals a reality.

I think it is important to note that volleyball is so much more than building a great athlete who can earn a scholarship one day. It is about friendship and learning: how to function and succeed in a team atmosphere, how to lead and be led, how to be coachable and how to be disciplined in your skill, how to trust yourself and your teammates, and also how to be trustworthy. If that isn't enough, volleyball builds and guides your character and helps create the young woman you will become. Believe it or not you have a choice in this. You can decide what kind of character you want. REACH provides an environment in which these elements are valued higher than how you place in Regionals. Your season will end, but your character and how you carry yourself now will be a part of who you become in the future. Getting to work with all the teams I was able to see many examples. Instead of me sharing with you what I saw this season take a minute to self-reflect. Ask yourself what you gave to your team. Did you show respect, make 100% effort, display accountability, have strong positive character and honor your coaches, teammates, and family? Continue to improve these traits not just on the court but off and you will be on the right path!
